😃DC Finest is a great opportunity for those who want to start reading or collecting DC Comics. I've missed so much of the epic collection line that I've even become discouraged from collecting ❤
I grabbed Absolute Promethea Vol. 3 maybe a year and a half ago at Ollie's for $20. Never figured the others would get a reprint, so I grabbed the Deluxe Editions. Now I'm wondering if I should wait and upgrade, or grab the Deluxe of the last volume.
Thanks for the video, Omar. A lot of those DC Finest still don’t have their contents updated on Amazon and other seller sites. The saddest thing, for me, is the legion of superheroes DC finest is half overlap with the last Legion omnibus they printed. It would’ve been nice, for fans, to have started where that ended.
I think I'm gonna get the DC Finest GL, Flash and Green Lantern books. Hopefully they continue those books with collecting more JLA issues that haven't been collected yet
I'm Looking forward to the finest line. Hopefully it doesn't end up like the essentials line DC did a few years ago. Although some of that stuff has been collected before and in omnibus, there's a lot of people who would like to dip their toe into certain eras without splurging on an omni etc. Looking at the contents for the Murderer/fugitive omni compared to the UK eaglemoss OHC's, I will skip the omni as the OHC's collect the whole omni plus a lot of extra issues. I am glad for everyone else that it's getting the omni treatment though as the EM books are hard to find now even in the UK. Hopefully we get contagion & legacy and the rest of PC batman in omni at some point. Kryptonite is a reprint as I have the original book. Glad that's coming back, great art & story
I'm guessing that if they are re-printing Absolute Promethea Vol 1, then 2 and 3 will follow? I'm searching online and can't find a UK retailer taking pre-orders

Is this just a rebranding or is the concept different somehow? Absolute Promethea Volume 2 is still available, but horribly expensive! I've just found volume 3 at a good price. By the way, wasn't Santa Claus killed by Lobo? 😉
Some of these solicits are probably wrong, Wonder Woman vol 2 needs to go to issue 13 or else it’ll have a weird break with the arcs. Superman seems to be collecting the two issue knight terrors series and also issues 16-18 of the ongoing, because with issue 19 Dan Mora takes the art and it starts a new story arc. Based on the cover and the description Nightwing should collect 106-113, maybe skipping issue 110. The Death and Return of Superman 30th anniversary collection will collect the two 30th anniversary one shots they did for the death and return of Superman.
Are DC now using Finest to replace omnibuses as a realistic way of getting a complete run of golden and silver age titles, like Marvel has done with the Epic line?
DC already collected some years back two Zero Hour volumes dedicated to just the Superman and Batman issues that I'm only interested in and they already collected the actual Zero Hour main story that I don't need to buy this new collection with the other filler. Yeah goes to show if I need to read the entire story I can read summaries on Wikipedia.
Hot take / controversial opinion here, I think the Deathstroke book should have been a compendium. I don't think these stories or the artwork justify an expensive oversized book.
A shame those 2 Black Label books (The Witching Hour and Joe The Barbarian) aren't Deluxe HCs. Actually this cycle of solicits is 95% softcover, seems like they're following Marvel and give up on the HCs save from Omnis and Absolutes. But with one third of Marvel's non-reprint Omnis output per month...
I'm getting really hacked off with DC, I only collect hardcovers, and they just keep pumping out paperbacks and those vile omnibus's, still raging over the Lobo collection, My heart sinks every time Omar says Paperback.
The cult deluxe edition had its FOC in June, so this is another edition of it in the same year. Two formats.
