It was a good win for Leinster in the end but I think La Rochelle have to be appreciated here. Already missing key players such as Skelton, Danty, Bourgarit, Latu, Thomas and more pre game and then on top of that to lose both their first choice props in the first half and still be in with a chance of winning at the 80 minute mark is a miracle in itself. If La rochelle had a full strength side today the result could of been very different, it will be interesting to see how Leinster fair against Bath next week and if they reach the later stages the likes of Toulouse or Bourdeux.
Bordeaux and Toulouse will likely be on the same side of the draw. Bordeaux will come 1st seed with 20 points , Toulouse will come 5th (bonkers because they win 4/4 games ) which means Toulouse will likely have to go away to either Northampton or Toulon in the quarters and probably Bordeaux in the semis. If La Rochelle get all their personnel back I think their power is freakish and will be a threat to anyone . Bordeaux have a lethal counter attack and I would love to see that against Leinster. What a comp!
@@danieSt I think Glasgow will top Toulon in the seedings and even with a bp win next week Northampton can only finish on 15 points. Won’t be enough to top Toulouse who will most likely be on 19.
@@boom4301 yes your completely correct but that’s not how the format works. The 16 teams that qualify for the knockouts are ranked 1-16 but bounded by their position in the pool. That’s what’s so crazy about pool 1 , Bordeaux and Toulouse will both win 4/4 but because Toulouse didn’t get a bonus point in South Africa they will finish 2nd in the group even though they’ll be on 19points (which is higher than everyone bar Bordeaux) this means they’ll finish 5th because they are the top ranked runner up of the pool. @harryocallaghan8082 , from a saffa that was one of the most ferocious games I’ve ever watched. Man the level of these top French sides and Leinster is insanely high. The winning penalty for leinster shouldve been a penalty to la rochelle, before their infringement, van der flier knocked the ball forward then ringrose picked it up from an offside position. Also the cheapshot by ringrose should have been at least a yellow and penalty on halfway after the conversion attempt.
Classy rugby, mostly, on another clear dry winter’s day in France. No way was that line out throw straight/legal in the lead up to Leinster’s first Try. A dirty cheap shot by Leinster No.13 on the Try scorer Ley’da as he’s on the ground. Wtf?? Ref and Touch-judge and TMO ignored it.
It's started straight and wind or spin moved it, similar to the forward pass law where it's looked at the ball leaving the hands. Learn the laws or just be quiet.
@harryh329 😂😂😂 firstly the new law is that "if a throw into the lineout isn't straight but the opposition doesn't get into the air to contest, then it's play on" That applies to the lineout in question.
