When you're done haying for this year I'd send that driveshaft off to a driveshaft shop to have it straightened and balanced. It will be a lot smoother once that is done! :)
We ran Hesston swathers years ago and loved them. They're built really tough and they do a great job of cutting even in heavy, wet crops. The only things I remember fixing were the odd conditioner bearing and the conditioner drive chains. You need to make sure the automatic oiler is keeping that chain well lubed and cool. If you have the two piece guards on the knife you'll find they stand up to stones really well too as long as you have the float springs set right so that the header isn't riding too heavy on the ground. I'd say that Sean got a hell of a deal on that machine and you should get a lot of years work out it yet. BTW, the paint job looks excellent, Tyson.
Oh wow... You made her shine like a new one... Heck I thought you were getting an ole fashioned cycle mower to go behind a tractor... That's what I use on road sides with steep ditches I had no clue you were talking about a self propelled machine... It does a nice job cutting and laying it out... Shaun done good bidding with your account lol... Thumbs up Tyson have a wonderful day
You did a great paint job and it looks great. Nice to see your mom out there giving you a hand. Yes for a sickle mower it does a pretty good job. the crop looks great hope you get lots of feed out of it.
The paint job looks great. Great to see your Mom running the 8830. Maybe build a bracket for a pillow block bearing and mount in the center of the drive shaft, that should stop the vibration. Just a thought.
very nice machine, seems to cut good and run good gets the job done right. thanks for sharing a look at it. mom driving that had to be helpful hope she had fun.
A score for Sean on this purchase at 10 👍 gosh if you lived closer Tyson I got a whole bunch of equipment here that needs painting LOL have a good one 👍
I just recently bought a hesston 1160 hydro swing haybine, it cuts very well and it looks like the exact same head you have on there. Very nice machine
It does a nice job cutting. The only thing I don't like about the disc bines is that if you have a squirrel or gopher problem , they don't like the dirt and leave alot of hay , but they are fast .
I can see the vibrating shaft. Could you weld a support for the driveshaft? Boy you have a lot of people on the payroll. Do you provide benefits?😉😉 have a good weekend. Great paint job.
There is a very slim chance, if it's not bent or worn out, that you could get rid of the wobbling of that drive shaft by disengaging it on one side and connecting it again one step/tooth ahead/back. Alternatively doing the same with the two halves of the shaft. This normally only helps for small vibrations in high speed axles though.
Nice job. I like it. Sure runs smooth eh. Rollers not thumping. I thought the drive shaft wasn't to bad at all. I have seen them that they look like their going to fly off any minute. That one is not bad at all. Good buy and Great paint job.
Good day Nice video. nice paint job. I can't get over alfalfa being roughly 20 yrs. old. Also you are never too old to learn new things. Your mother driving windrower. Thanks for now. On other video someone ask if 3.9 cummins are still being made, I think they make a 4.4 ? now. I know for generatories they use them.
Is that long shaft a square drive? I was wondering if the U joints may be out of sink. Take it apart at one end and slide it in a quarter turn, also if its bent you'll know then. Also when a pumps or motor has to much oil that gets through from wear has to leave via the case drain to get back to tank. If there is more oil than the line can handle the restriction builds pressure and pushes the shaft seal out.
Thanks Tyson. The wind-rower looks great. Love the don`t call me Shirley line", classic. I am no mechanic, so from you, or anyone who might know, could you adapt an orbital motor/pump to replace the shaft transferring power to the cutter head? Or would that be way to complicated and not cost efficient ? Again everyone I do not know squat, I just remember reading how folks adapt those for modifications reading Farm Show mag? Thanks again.
That come out well, it’s amazing what paint will do for a machine:) Perhaps I missed it but what ever happen to you mx135? Where you able to get it back running again?
Tyson I woke up last Night thinking about this machine... I build Jeeps and Jack them up for bigger tires... When a 4 ear u joint gets at a angle like that it causes major drive line vibrations... I put in constant velocity joints and it solves all drive line vibrations... Trust me I don't know a darn thing about these machines but I do honestly think the angles of the header drive shaft is to much for a 4 ear u joint... Just my 2 cents... Just an idea of mine not trying to tell you anything because like I said I'm verry ignorant when it comes to these machines...
You should be running it at least twice as fast on your ground speed so you can spend hours and hours wrenching on it like onelonelyfarmer... Nice paint job btw, i would address that severe shaft vibration pretty soon though. Nothing good will come of that.
The paint looks real good, and yes that is 1 hell of a long driveshaft!!!!!!
Looks and sounds great!
That turned out looking and really good I thought. At least you had something to cut with after the JD went down! Thanks again for sharing.
When you're done haying for this year I'd send that driveshaft off to a driveshaft shop to have it straightened and balanced. It will be a lot smoother once that is done! :)
Nice video! Good explanation of things - nice looking setup, and wow, a beautiful crop!

The 8830 looks like brand new!! Cuts very good. Hope you get many good years of mowing out of it for sure!

Very impressive crop and machine! Congrats!
Great job on the repaint.
Awesome paint job , well done

Nice! Good job. We have got close to 2” of rain here in unity last couple days.
Looks brand new !! Good job.
It does look good nice job!!!

Man it look like a different machine. Good job. It looks to be doing a good job👍🏻
Good day Nice video. nice paint job. I can't get over alfalfa being roughly 20 yrs. old. Also you are never too old to learn new things. Your mother driving windrower. Thanks for now. Cracking job, do you use some thinners into the paint or straight out of the tin
We have a 8840, it has a turbo and the turning screen is on top of the hood. I love the air conditioning it will freeze you out.
good job it looks really nice thanks for the video
Custom machinery flipper, looks good, do you get two cuttings per season up there ??
Wow the cutter looks new. I have a 9150 that needs new paint. They do a great job.We had a hydraulic pump on ares. Anyway great video.
Hell of a job. Good thing your 3 provinces away or you would have a line up.Lol
Thanks Tyson. The wind-rower looks great. Love the don`t call me Shirley line", classic. Nm.. I see that it is a Heston.. I found the old single knife drive plugged up too much. We have a double knife drive Heston now and we love it
Yup....they were hesstons with caseih red and a cummins
It looks awesome, well done
Good looking machine and it was doing a fine job thanks for making the video keep making them thank you.
Great looking job ,!,!!!’
That works good! Now I want one....
Walking right thru the alfalfa.will that work with canola too.take care bud.
Nice machine, Tyson
Nice looking paint job. Does the windrower have air ?
Nice looking machine, Tyson. It doesn't go as fast as Wes's Deere, but it will do the job. Thanks for the video.
Doesnt go as fast as my deere either lol
Looks like a much nicer unit than my 1499!
Check that wobble drive.
It sounds noisey
The bolts can loose up
We got one just like it
Only it's a Hesston 8200
It's been a good rig
will do
Good looking hay croup.
On the drive shaft check to see that the u joints are in line.(the caps) have to be in the same plane.
Nice Machine. Wish good Day from Germany
Wonder if there's enough room to install a center carrier bearing on that drive shaft weld up some sort of bracket for it
You would have to have another yoke and u joint there so it coulf flex when you lift the header up and down
Can you get that drive shaft balanced at a local auto shop maybe?
That dog talked about as much as Shawn! 😂 Speaking of Shawn, where has he been hiding lately?
Hes been working on the off farm job
Awesome Video, What Do You Edit With? Thanks
Looks good
Love it I'll take it
Looks sharp
How many tractors, swathers and combines do you have?
9 tractors, 4 swathers (windrowers) 3 combines
Northern farmer Thanks!
Since you’re so good on the red paint I have a disc bone that could use your attention
Get in line haha
That come out well, it’s amazing what paint will do for a machine:) Perhaps I missed it but what ever happen to you mx135? Where you able to get it back running again?
It will be back in a few days...
Could you put a carrier bearing on the drive shalf.
I dont think so because the shaft has to move up and down with the header
Hi nice video good work
Dam good job !!!!!!!

I agree
Haven't seen Sean much lately in your videos. Is he on another job or has he decided he is going to cut down on his appearances in your video?
You are dangerous with that spray gun! Making used equipment look brand new :)
Excellent
That thing looks and sounds just like our Heston swather... We have tried a, discbine too.. Much quicker.. That looks like a 6450..
Did you get Shauns' permission to use it ? ?
drive shaft bent slightly ????
How big is the header?
14 ft
If i was going to buy one of these what should i expect to pay?
that some nice alfalfa. no thistle
REALLY LOOKS GOOD
You should be running it at least twice as fast on your ground speed so you can spend hours and hours wrenching on it like onelonelyfarmer... Nice paint job btw, i would address that severe shaft vibration pretty soon though. Nothing good will come of that.
what was the full cost of your hay bine?
14
missed a bit on that header with the paint
At 7:00 watch it in 2x to see Mom flying across the field
The drive shaft is just out of balance I have to friends that have the same windrower they get them balanced every to years just a suggestion
Yea Thats what I thought....being so long doesnt help either
Shaun not there to even use it.
she looks like she can handle that machine just fine i bet she used to do that with you in i her lap
Just red color, has a tendency to fade faster than other colors. Why I don't know.
That is true
Get rid of that drive shaft with a hydraulic pump
Id like to....
It's not very fast
Looks good
