I hike and camp in Sam Houston regularly. Always with my dog and a gun. Plenty of strange things have happened. I've heard, seen and found some unusual things. Alone and 2 or 3 miles in at night is sometimes foreboding. A couple of times i have packed up in the middle of the night and hiked out because it just didn't feel right. Deafening silence. Thank you for sharing that!

You talking about Sam Houston National Forest in east Texas? If you are I can tell you this much, there is at least one large Cat and I've argued with my friends and one game warden about its type. There is a pipeline crossing or a utility R.O.W of some sort, its kept up with only a few saplings and on this particular day the grass and weeds were about 12 - 18 inches high. I was in the passenger seat, my friend was driving and we easing along talking and looking for a place to go back and camp in the fall. Right about the time time we were approaching the edge of the R.O.W I happened to be looking to my left and what I saw about 60 to 70 yards down that R.O.W was not your average Cougar. Its color pattern was more akin to my German Shepherd. A brown, reddish brown and dark brown almost black color pattern. Its tail curled down almost touching the ground and then back up. I saw the last half of its body as it entered the tree line and I can tell you its height and length would make 3 of my Canine and she's 105 lbs. It was not the traditional blonde or reddish blonde cougar. It was mottled in color and Big and it was just walking slowly into the Thicket. This was in March 2018. The Game Warden although skeptical of my description did say someone had reported something similar over in Davey Crockett near Apple Springs.

@@BHeisler59 yes it's the national forest I'm speaking of. That is amazing and now I'm going to have my head on a swivel. My family have clear trail cam photos of a black panther in Southern Mississippi yet they had been told a couple years earlier by a game warden that none existed in the area. I'm curious if you were on the powerline easement on trailhead 15? That was a monster cat!!

You're right ! I live in North Texas and it's well known to have numerous bigfoot sightings ! My older brother had a terrifying experience in Sam Houston State park back in 2001. His best friend was with him and it was around sundown in the fall. They had just stopped walking to have a snack and something to drink. After sitting there for about 5 minutes suddenly a huge rock was thrown at them and nearly hit Leroy in the head. They emeditally jumped up and turned around to see where it came from and then there was a loud yell from the trees. My brother said it made chills up their spines and it was terrifying. He said they emeditally started walking back to the truck as fast as they could. They left and have never been back. We tried to get them to show us where it happened but they both said no way !

Been across most of the Canadian provinces as well. And the strange and scary things that I've seen over the years I could write a book about. But anyway. When the day finally comes that I can park my truck and go home. I hope I have enough resources and my dream dog, (A Siberian Husky )to where I can get back out on the road and see these wonderful beautiful places in detail. I guess you can think of it this way. It's one thing to walk into a kitchen and see a delicious large pot of boiling beef stew. But it's another thing all together to watch how that beautiful meal was put together one ingredient after the other in detail. Keep hiking everyone!🚛🇺🇸😌

My mom was born in Texas during the depression. There was a little town called Peale town. It was nothing more than a gas station and a stop sign in east Texas. The weather was so hot one summer that most of the nine kids had to sleep out on the porch. But there was something over in the little patch of woods far over in the distance that would let out this bone chilling moaning, screaming, wailing. It scare my grandparents were petrified. My grandpa and and the older boys would take turns sitting up with the guns and watching. They didn't live in Peale town long. My mom said some ppl thought a panther got loose from a traveling circus because they did go through the area about twice a year but I've tried to research and found nothing. She uses to talk about Peale Town all the time and the "booger" out in the woods.

I watched this video earlier but didn't get chance to comment until now so I'll watch it again. These videos never get boring!
Wow what a frightening encounter, and all the kids saw that Squatch as well! Unusual that he put in an appeaerance during the daytime, normally they like to frighten people in the night.
I know exactly what this bus driver lady meant when she was worried about anyone finding out - it's the same for all of us in the transport industry: when we see anything unusual, we have to keep quiet about it for fear not just of ridicule, but also fear of our state of mind being questioned. This could cost us our entire career.
Stories like ghost stories do get passed round, but folks are careful about what they say and to whom. They also tell stories as jokes, so that real experiences don't result in any problems. This in turn means one never knows what to believe...
Wow you sure got a lot of snow there! We got snow here too now but not that much. Could change later this week though, looks like the snow will get worse. There's also strikes everywhere here in the UK - on the railroad, the postal service, ambulance crews, nurses want to strike soon too... the UK is in chaos as always, hahaha...

This one hit close to home. I've spent a lot of good times fishing, kayaking, and camping on Brushy Creek. I was always more worried about someone breaking into my truck than I was a sasquatch... Thanks, now I got a new thing to worry about! I never had anything strange happen to me on Brushy Creek. But at one of my favorite campsites on the South San Gabriel river I can say I had something weird happen. It wasn't really much, I didn't see anything, but it had me kind of freaked out for a few hours. The South San Gabriel river and the headwaters of Brushy Creek come to close each other between Liberty Hill and Leander Tx. Just sayin' take it for what it is.
Thanks Chris, really like your videos. Keep it up bud!

Back in the 90's the Hairy Man Road was a very small 1 lane road with the tree's and brush very thick and at night it was kind of spooky. But Round Rock had grew so much that they went in and made it a 2 lane road and cleared most of the tree's and brush way back and put in jogging and bike trails so today it is nothing like it was before. In the 21 years we lived there I had never heard of any Bigfoot sightings. Too much population and growth, not enough wooded area for Sasquatch to live in but just wanted to give my 2 cents since we lived there.

Maybe out towards Bastrop? I know the area from San Antonio to Corpus to Houston , Eligin... They have a little bit of a woody area in Bastrop.😆 We are however known for our bats.

Me and a friend had two large creatures follow us up the Brazos river while we were in a canoe heading back to our truck parked near the bottom of the Possum Kingdom dam. This was about 12:30-1:00 am until about 4:30ish in the morning. This all was proceeded by something big in a stand of trees about 300 ft behind our camp on the east side of the river. First we heard a whoop whoop sound and were discussing what that was then it started thrashing the trees around, we could see the tree tops moving back and forth then it stopped all this started at around 11:30. After a few minutes a bowling ball size rock landed in our camp near the fire and at that point we both were on edge and stood up and chambered rounds in our weapons, we had a semi auto 12 ga and a mac-90 (Chinese AK-47 knockoff) also a couple of pistols a 44 mag and a 357 mag. But we didn't shoot, we were really confused and were thinking at first it was just some people messing with us, but we were miles from the nearest house it is pretty remote in the section of the river we were in which was about 7 miles south of Possum Kingdom lake. Then another rock was thrown into our camp followed by a yell/scream from the west side of the river which is about 60 feet wide, it was really really loud like someone had a bullhorn it definitely put us both on edge. Then whatever was on the westside of the river started thrashing the trees on that side as well . Then whatever was behind our camp on the east side in the stand of trees growled at us really loud, we could tell it was big by the depth and how loud the growl was and then another big rock was thrown but this one landed in the fire. That was all it took, we just grabbed our firearms pushed the canoe off then started paddling back up river making sure to stay right in the center of the river. Neither one of us talked at all all the way back to the truck which took about 4-5 hours paddling. Whatever they were followed us on both sides of the river until we got a half mile or so from where we parked the truck and at that point we could see the lights on the top of the dam, that's when we stopped hearing movement in the brush. They would do a Whoop Whoop every so often and at one time the one on the westside yelled out some gibberish that sounded like a language of some sort. Also few times something would splash in the river near the canoe but it could have just been Garr fish breaking the surface, we did see a 6 ft. Garr breaking the surface on the paddle downstream earlier on the previous day . We left all our gear both tents, a couple of coolers with food and beer in them, sleeping bags, fishing poles etc., we even left the fire burning, never went back to get any of it. I haven't been back in the woods since, don't think I will ever go back down that section of the Brazos ever again after this. This all happened back in the mid nineties, and no we never got a good look at them but did see a large black figure on the west side of the river once running from one stand of trees to the next. My guess is they were running us out of there not sure what would have happened if we stayed the night or if we had taken a shot at them.

Now I don't know what the story is but one of my cousins refuses to ever go anywhere near possum Kingdom anymore. I don't know if it was a human or a creature whatever happened. I lean more to the creature and maybe that's why he doesn't want to talk about it. I would think that if a human did something he would talk about it and report it to the local authorities. But I don't know if I'll ever know.

    • @GregDV
      @GregDV Год назад +4

@@brendabautista9683 My buddy that was with me refuses to talk about that night, every time I have mentioned it he just says something smart assed and changes the subject. Once we got back to the truck we just threw the canoe and paddles in the back, didn't tie it down until we reached the top of the dam under the street lights up on the road on the top of the dam. On the drive back to Fort Worth we didn't really talk, I said something once all he said was he was tired and wanted to go home. I myself didn't tell anyone about it for about two years and I am careful who I tell. That was the last time me and him took the canoe out or went camping. I still get anxious just driving down rural farm roads late at night where it is pitch black or just being anywhere alone in a rural area without anyone around. I have not been camping again since that weekend back in the 90's.

@@GregDV I don't blame you one bit. I had a camper but we got rid of it I just can't bring myself to go camping since you can't park in Walmart parking lot any longer I just can't go out in the woods knowing everything that I know and camp. When I was a kid we had a lot of experiences that of course I didn't know way back in the '70s when I was young that that's what it was now is an adult I know exactly what it was. There's a lot of places in Texas that has activity and people just don't realize that they can be close to town too it doesn't have to be out in the boonies.
