We have a good size vegetable garden and there are plenty of birds that gather and feed. I built a screen house which works great to keep them from eating lettuce and berries. I’d like to build a few bird houses but don’t want to attract them during the summer months while the garden is in full swing. My question is, are bird houses and vegetable gardens a good combination if you don’t want more birds in the garden, or is it not going to matter because they’re going to come feed anyway? I just don’t want to make it more convenient for them, but at the same time I like to watch them sometimes. We have sparrows, robins, blue jays, and a few more that are in that size category, plus sea gulls because we are near the Atlantic, then crows, and also squirrels in this area.
This was very helpful. I wanted to buy a couple bird houses but no clue where to place it. I assumed a tree but also assumed I would use the birdhouse as a feeder. Didn’t realize I would need a feeder too.
Correct. A feeder attracts birds and squirrels and also predators that prey on them like hawks, owls, cats, squirrels. Any nesting bird wants their young hidden not exposed to predators and drama from other birds.
Hi my friend Wild good morning beautiful house for very beautiful bird top with top finish congratulations big hug - another subscriber big hug - TMJ always be counting on me in the rush.
Get a sheet of any metal - brass or copper, tin, aluminum... etc. Cut with snips or jewelry saw. Sand down edges. Cut a hole in center with a hole saw mounted to a drill. Drill out 4 holes using metal drill bits. Easy. If too much work, then use New Masters paint and paint on a metal piece.
I bought a bird condo which has multiple houses. I am trying to provide a safe place for the sparrows. They seem to like community living. You said maintain the house? What do you mean? Am i supposed to clean up after them? Lol

Thank you! I am going to buy some in my garden❤️🐦🌳
Informative. Thanks.
I learned so much more than I thought I needed to know 😭
Is the direction a birdhouse faces significant?
I was told north facing, so it won’t be in direct sun for most of the day. But I suppose it depends upon the layout of your property.
Thank you for the information. But what house is on the far right with the hole on the bottom?
It's a roosting box, not nesting..holes at bottom..heat rising in house..warm.
Often wood peckers use roosting holes in nature and boxes..
@@paintilludrop Thank you! I had the same question. So its a club house not a nursery.
Do sell the bird houses? Bird roosting box??
Do you have to have Mesh inside a bird house? What is the reasoning?
Great vid
Love this!!
How much the rent goes for?
Not funny, you jerk.
How many birdhouses would you recommend for 1/2 acre
Can you do squirrel houses?
Thanks!
Wow! I’m not used to so many useful facts on youtube.

Yes. After the nest is abandoned you throw that away. Or they will get sick and/or with parasites.
How to protect them from red squirrels
Those metal plates with the entrance hole in them look ideal, so the squirrels cannot chew the opening wider to get inside.
Birds live in trees.......Lets cut down the trees and make homes for birds.....We need to start tearing down peoples homes And give them Tents ....
Not all birdhouses are made with new wood, I've seen some nice ones made with old barn wood
Start with your own and we'll talk.
