A rule you missed: You can still be challenged right after you play your last card(s). If you are challenged successfully, you take the whole stack as normal and you don't win.
That’s why you bullshit before you get to the last card. For example, if you are supposed to put down a 4 this turn, then an 8 next turn, then a Queen, and you have a Jack, Queen, and 8, you should play your Jack as the four, because you can bluff early and it is less likely to be called. Your last card will be automatically challenged so you should not bluff it all possible.
Another rule I like to add is that you can take a risk and challenge even though you're already out of cards. If the challenged turned out to not be bullshiting, then you take the card pile and play again. Is it dumb? Yes. Do I like it anyway? Yes.
I mean, it's kind of obvious that you have to be able to challenge on the last turn... If you couldn't, every single game would always end with the first player winning by saying "thirteen Aces!" and winning immediately.
Harsh Fluttershy, harsh. But seriously. The strategy is, you have to lie early on so that your winning move is the truth. The more you're able to tell the truth across the entire game, the better.
I learned this game on Neopets. On there, you had to declare your cards to be within 1 rank of the previous player; Aces round the corner, leading to King or Two. If there was no stack, you can call any number.
We always called this game Bullshit, and also we added a Joker as a wild card, and playing up to 5 cards was allowed. If you had the Joker in your hand when someone played out, you went back double for that hand.
I've been playing this game wrong the whole time, we let the player choose which card they want to put down and everyone goes around putting down the card with the same value. We also let people pass on their turn and if everyone passes then the person who put down the last card is able to put down a new card of a different value
For me and my family, we always had trouble cause 1 player would end up with almost all the cards, and no one could get rid of all their cards. So we made a home rule. After shuffle, and before dealing and play, take out 20 cards and leave them to the side. Now even though you may have all the cards at the end, you can’t be sure that you know what card the last player has.
once the whole deck is taken and there is nothing in the middle of the table, does the next player play the next card in the sequence (or at least say they are as they may be lying)?
Must we play at least one card each turn? For example, if we're at 5 and I don't have any fives, but I don't want to cheat in that instance, can I skip my turn? Or similarly, I could actually have the number but skip my turn on purpose so other players would think I don't have that number ?
With younger audiences, some popular family-friendly alternative lines for calling BS are: "Baloney Sandwich", "Baloney", "Liar", or even "Cap" or something like that. I personally like "Baloney Sandwich" for some reason lol
Different rule sets I guess... one game can have many different variations I also play with Ace of Spades going first, but the way I play it, the initial Ace of Spades is actually played face-up, as opposed to face-down like the rest of the cards (others simply play with the first Ace of Spades face down like normal)
Ok so I get the concept of the game but all 52 cards? What about jokers?? I've played so many other games without jokers. Where do jokers fit in this game?? Most people leave them out and are only left 50 cards. So if I was playing with all 52 cards. What do the jokers do???
That’s a perfectly fine strategy. If the other players are bad at identifying bluffs and therefore keep receiving cards, you would actually win that way.
Example now is for card "4".. player lie n place the lie card, we call challenge he end up take all these card back to his on deck. So to continue the game we continue on card "5" ?? Or we start again with card "1"(Ace) ??
I usually played a modified version that's mixed with the Polish card game called pan. All cards below the 9 are dropped, and aces are high. The player that has the nine of hearts plays it face up, and then the game continues clockwise with cards face down. Players can only play one or four cards, with the exception of three nines. For every BS, the nine of hearts always stays on the table. You are allowed to call BS on your opponent's last card.

Steve Burke, it is called Bullshit. He labeled the video “I doubt it” to prevent it from being pulled.

This is a version me and my friends play too. It’s just a variant of the game shown in the video rather than an incorrect way of playing BS
For me and my family, we always had trouble cause 1 player would end up with almost all the cards, and no one could get rid of all their cards. So we made a home rule. can you make a video about how to play fifteen puzzle solitaire
once the whole deck is taken and there is nothing in the middle of the table, does the next player play the next card in the sequence (or at least say they are as they may be lying)?
Ended up with more cards isn't always bad
So it's kind of like liars dice but with cards
We call this game "challenge", and in each hand we have to deal cards of the same type, i.e., 2 aces followed by 3 aces etc.
Must we play at least one card each turn? For example, if we're at 5 and I don't have any fives, but I don't want to cheat in that instance, can I skip my turn? Or similarly, I could actually have the number but skip my turn on purpose so other players would think I don't have that number ?
0:30 in the video he says "on your turn you must play 1 to 4 cards", so I guess yes, you must play at least one
Me and my cousins call it Bluff
Okay! I have 6 people and when it comes back to my turn it’s the same number everytime
For more fun, don't say "I doubt it" say "This is bullsh*t"
For even more fun, just have a beer and forget the stupid game.
This game is also know as BS
And instead of saying i doubt it, you say BS
and Cheat
And cap
When I teach this game to kids, we say Liar
With younger audiences, some popular family-friendly alternative lines for calling BS are: "Baloney Sandwich", "Baloney", "Liar", or even "Cap" or something like that. I personally like "Baloney Sandwich" for some reason lol
What if more than one people say b.s?
The first person to say it takes it if they were wrong.
Other versions call this Cheat, I think.
But if you never say BS or "I doubt it" and just let others say it wouldn't u just eventually win
The playing card version of fibber
Fibber means bluffing or lying
I would spam “I’ll doubt it” until all Aces are in my hand and I can effectively stalemate the game.
what?
ah wait 😂
Where I come from (Neopia) it's called Cheat!

Correction, the Ace of Spades is first

No, 52 card deck is a standard deck. The full deck is 54 card(52 standard card + 2 jokers)
it can also be called: The Game of Honesty
And now it’s called liar’s deck on steam
What if one player never says BS or I doubt it at all?
That’s a perfectly fine strategy. If the other players are bad at identifying bluffs and therefore keep receiving cards, you would actually win that way.
For a more Guilty Gear experience, you can say "That is BULLSH*T BLAZING"
You playing Strive?
It's a challenge
Example now is for card "4".. player lie n place the lie card, we call challenge he end up take all these card back to his on deck.
So to continue the game we continue on card "5" ??
Or we start again with card "1"(Ace) ??
As long as I can say "Bootstrap Bill you're a liar and you will spend an enternity on this ship" it is all good

Can you not play a card if it's time for fives and you don't have one, but don't want to risk getting the stack
no you have to play
Between the game you should have some snacks and drinks so that you put on some weight.. else you are as light as the cards..😂😂🤪
Aka Cheat. (Terrible game, it can go on for too long.)
not first .
