I've been watching other videos for Charge Blade combos but all of them assume you know the basics like elemental boosted shield etc etc. This video should be recommended to all Monster Hunter beginners that choose Charge Blade. Literally changed everything for me.
Now i understand the memes that charge blade users need to read pages of pdfs to understand the weapon lol. Ive never tried it before and want something new. Thank you for this!

Charge Blade is one of the most rewarding & fun weapons in MH. It has a learning curve but well worth the effort. CB was my main in MH4U & now in MHRise.
This is nice tutorial video for the begining. I think important missing part is a play style.The Charge Blade all about standing still, catch monster attacks with guard points and do counterattack.
Thanks for the comments! Yes the intended audience is definitely newcomers and beginners. The idea is to make it less intimidating for new players 🙂 My hope is for more people to try out more weapons this way and when they want to learn more they can seek out more knowledge 😁
this helped me more than the 37 minute video i was watching before. atleast party because you also put the xbox (and ps) "keys" there. X and A on xbox is something entirely different from switch :D
I was confused with how the counter defend thing works. This video was straight forward and I now can do combos like this which is much more fun now! Charge Blade is so much fun to use!!
I must've charged my shield by accident one time but I could never find out how I did it. I did a fair amount of googling before I found this video and finally understood it.
glaive is sooo much harder than this weapon, i dont really get why everyone calls this weapon hard. great guide, you definitely helped me grasp this weapon very quickly!
i just cant seem to be able to aim my super discharge anywhere on the monsters 😭😭 should i only use sword and axe attacks untill their stationery or K.O. ??
Probably best bet. You can also do one out of a guard point too so maybe look up more in depth tutorials on how to do those. Or just search guard points with charge blade. Have fun!
I can't for the life of me get sword charging to work. I can charge my shield just fine, but when I try to do the sword charge, it does the charge animation and then rolls straight into an AMP attack
Is there a way to increase movement speed in battle? I've been trying to use the hammer but barely do damage and im slow so trying the charge blade because its the only one that looks like a battle axe
Use the wirebugs. But I dont recomend staying with the axe too long cuz it really is slow. I use the sword mode most of the time and go to axe only for some hard hits before going back to sword so I can defend using the shield.
Nah there's other fast options like insect glaive, light bowgun and bow. Maybe check out my guides and see what you think about them? They should give you an idea if they fit your playstyle 🙂
Edit!! Didn't know this is a beginner video. It's great to have someone who provides very basic tutorial for beginners/casuals. Keep up the good work. The more hunters join the guild the better. ❤ Not even mentioning guard points is a sin for this weapon. You should be ashamed....
I have a more in depth video coming in the future for more advanced play. I thought it was quite clear this is just a beginner guide to get started with the weapon 😅

I don't intend to mislead anyone, just help, and I think I've done that, despite not mentioning guard point. In fact, I get a lot of credit for not going into exhaustive detail because there's a large percentage of casual players that just want to learn the basics and learn more later.

That's entirely up to you! It's OK, I can see why you would think that's important but it is quite hard to fit in a 5 minute capped video! I decided it was best to leave it out because I figured it would be too much information for the average player that likely wouldn't even use it due to how convenient the wirebug moves are. I hope you stick around for future content! All perspectives and alternate viewpoints are valuable 😊
Why can't FromSoft just take over Monster Hunter? Every weapon is so fucking slow and clunky, while monsters are fast and knock you down every .5 miliseconds...
i mean thats the point, you have to use the weapon mechanics to avoid/block the monsters and pick your moments, its monster hunter not ninja gaiden lol. also fromsoft? their games have slow clunky weapons and fast bosses, the dual blades in mh are faster than most ds/bloodborne/er

Every phial that is used to charge your shield adds 30 seconds to the charge for a maximum of 3 minutes.
Wouldn't that add to 2.5 mins? Or is there an innate 30 sec? Just wondering not arguing lol
@dogs-game-too there is a skill to get an extra phial for the 3 minutes. Forgot to mention that.

Small detail worth mentioning: just pressing ZR while sheathed will draw into axe mode, the button inputs are unnecessary. Otherwise a good guide!

how do you do normal amp discharge while the shield is glowing?
How come when I try too do boost sword mode it keep turning too axe mode 1:22
You have the wrong switch skill equipped. I think you have condensed spinning slash equipped.

How do you change the axe? Am I remembering it wrong? Can't you charge sword, shield and THEN axe? Was that only I'm world? Hell!
It's a different switch skill. Something that gets unlocked later. Google unlock condensed spinning slash.

Get the switch skill that lets you have chainsaw, you enter chainsaw the same way you would charge your sword

It should be able to block more than a standard shield and can also deal damage

You might have the wrong switch skill equipped. If you're on condensed spinning slash it will be an axe charge instead.
you can still charge shield with condensed spinning slash, do any super amped element discharge and cancel with zr to charge shield with phials
