Thanks for this. I have been re-reading Colossians recently and this pointed out some important features. No surprise to see the Witnesses swooping down from their Watchtower to take a pop.
Jesus is the Son God made with the earth, so God could come down and speak His words through Him. Connected through the spirit of the Lord, God spoke. God planned this from the very beginning, that He would shed His blood through the blood He purchased with His very own Son on the earth. Without God we would not exist, not through of His Son we were created. Three in one!!! God and His Spirit in the flesh.
Adam didn't see a form but he heard a voice. Gene 2: hear And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
By him is not of him. By him is an old way of saying in regards to, with him in mind. Creation is OF the Father. 1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. The Father is LORD. John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Believing Christ is God is not believing he is the Son of God. It denies both God and his Son.
It was the Lord God almighty ( Yahweh Elohim) who spoke to Adam in the garden of Eden not Jesus Christ. because he wasn't born yet. Jesus was the son of man and his Father is Lord God ( Yahweh Elohim) he was made from the root of and offspring of David. he was the son of man and God was in him by his spirit. Paul knew exactly what he was taking about in Col 1:15. Jesus the Firstborn of all creation. He even knew what the word preeminence meant as is evidenced by Col 1:18 where he actually uses word the preeminence. Paul is not saying Jesus has preeminence therefore God says he is the Firstborn of all creation. No! Paul said he is the Firstborn of All Creation therefore he has preeminence. Firstborn means firstborn in all cases through the Bible, and each has been appropriately placed within its context and should be reviewed within its contexts. The secret to Col 1:15 is about the belly button. Jesus had a mother. Adam did not. Stay with me. The first Adam did not have a belly button, but he did have life. Genesis 2:7-8 And God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life/blood; and man became a living soul. And God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. Leviticus 17:11For the life (God’s Life) of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement. This also agrees with God's name...Elohym Gen 1:1 Eloh (base) = goddess (noun, feminine, singular) ym = suffix/ending masculine, plural. Name of ONE individual that has both genders within the ONE being.
