Told ya bout the Northern Boys. Both Norman Pain and Patrick Carneigh Jr have solo work also and it is deranged and baffling. The third guy is their friend Kevin, who has dementia, but moments of clarity when he dances.
The northern boys are funny as hell. The one yelling. He is a real one did 18 years. His name is norman pain. Check out his sindu shesh it's fire!! Tells a painfully story
Oh Yes, Little by little bit by bit .Fire alert "Northern Boys" in the building. Now you (nearly) seeing the bigger Pete and Bas picture/fireworks. They don't miss ever.🔥
These are the Northern Boys. They write their own stuff. If you knew their "Northern" slang, and Pete and Bas' "Cockney" slang, you would easily hear that they have a HEAVY INPUT about what goes in. Go watch "Longthorne Shotgun". In the video, you can see them WRITING down their lyrics to the song in a notebook. Near the end of the video, they do a closeup, you can actually see the lyrics. I am an old guy. I have learned that there are always people in this world who can do things that you thought were impossible. It was PETE who decided one day that he could do it. His granddaughter would always get into his car and turn on drill rap. Eventually, he started to listen to it on his own. Eminem is now 50. What if he decided NOT to rap as a youth but then in his 70s, he decided to go for it? Picture that for a moment. Would he lack the ability because he was older?
Not saying impossible. Im saying out of the ordinary .. u really dont see older folks rapping or writing lyrics down. Especially not with todays music/beats. Its just something ive never seen before.
As for the question of who is writing all of this stuff, I've watched all of their videos many times. I am convinced that each of these old folks have distinct "voices" in their lyrics that come from them writing their own words. You can also trace how their writing voices start in one place and progress, getting a stronger and more distinct voice over time, as you would expect if they are writing and discovering their voice. If there were professionals writing their lyrics, they would have started out a bit more sophisticated (go watch "Shut your mouth" and tell me a pro wrote that rather than two old guys taking a shot at writing a rap song) and progressed less. If this is a pro working to make them sound like beginners in the beginning, and progress, unevenly at times, gaining confidence and skills related to the types of songs they've made (and that is a huge variety), then that is the best song writer of all time. I'm not buying it. People who insist that someone else is writing their bars, are just telling us more about their prejudices and ignorance of what age and experience can bring, than about Pete and Bas. This extends to the Northern boys. I suspect, at first, Pete and Bas helped the crew in their first collabs (think it was Window frame Cyphers, as the Snooker Team), and even in those, there were distinct "voices" to each set of lyrics. Several of them, like PKJ and Norman, have gone on to make their own songs and they have very different styles, though related in their fearlessness of content. No songwriter every writes perfectly alone, there is always some collaboration in the studio, and any duo, like Pete and Bas, will always have some collaboration, even if their bars are essentially theirs alone. I do believe Pete and Bas's comments that at the beginning (this was in the interview with Fumze as part of their Plugged In session several years ago) their younger generation (grandkids, nephews and nieces, etc...) helped them update their slang a bit, but after a while, even an oldie will pick up what is being said, especially if they listen to a lot of newer rappers. (and they admit they listen to a lot). Hell, I'm 61 and I've picked up a lot of the slang just from listening to Pete and Bas.
