Hello gus!!!! I just wanted to say thank you so much for the heart on my comment, it makes me so happy! Anyways, I've been a really big fan of you for 6 years, I was 7 then, I'm now 12 and I'm still loving it! so, thank you so much for all the inspiration Gus, I hope one day to see Firewind Or Your Solo Project Sometime. Come back to the UK!!! :)
Gus, fantastic and informative video showing the capability and high sound quality of ToneX captures. Your tone is so killer, bro. Any chance of sharing the capture of your signature Blackstar Blackfire 200 ? Maybe put it for purchase on your site of us ToneX users? I've been using both the ToneX software and ToneX pedal and have been blown away by what IK Multimedia have accomplished. Note: I've been trying to post a comment on this video since yesterday and it keeps getting getting deleted for some reason.
Sounded great! The capture sounded a tad brighter to me, but not significant. I love capturing my amps, copying to the pedal and using that plus pedalboard plus an FRFR for a lightweight rig with all of my amps and then some! Also great for "testing" amps before buying the real deal.
Hi Gus thanks for this vid and great timing. Im looking at getting this pedal to use instead of bringing my tube amp around . So like a fly rig. So running it into a cab with a power amp and micing it up. Do you think this would work? As its all new to me Thanks a mill
great video Gus, very informative , lol never goes that easy for me,, the tone and sound are excellent, you'll be sleeping by now,,,lol,,thanks for sharing the video \m/
It seems that JIMI approved with his look of awe LOL. Alot of bands here in the United States are using Fractal Axe-3. Is it available in GREECE? 🇬🇷 Regardless, the Tone X Software definitely has potential. Rock on my Greek brother 🤘⚡️🤘
Hey Gus do you know if this software can make use of your graphics card to speed up the rendering, The last couple of generation of NVIDIA cards have AI cores
your typical ir impulse type sound........the tone you got from your amp-cab in the beginning thats the true tone I love, the real deal. yes digital its a good solution if you dont have the (money-room-studio) to mic a real amp-cab...... but man that tone in the beginning was just amazing, anyway just my thoughts....good video Gus!
5 hours LOL, my god I'd rather lug an amp to the gig by foot and still get there on time....is it really that long on advanced mode? I just bought a ToneX pedal and waiting for it to arrive, I hope I didn't tick the advanced delivery option hahahah! My Kemper captures 99.99% perfection in minutes? Thanks Mr G, rock on \m/
@ I didn’t hear major differences, also depends the use of the captures, the speakers you listen from etc. I’m still new to capturing, but to me the default mode worked just fine
@@firetv I've had a Kemper for the better part of 7 years now, I like it a lot, haven't done loads of capturing but a fair amount, I bought the Tonex Ltd yesterday as I'm keen to try some captures with IKMulti software, they have some cool stuff going on with Amplitube & Tonex.
Gus, ok with the digital stuff etc but don’t you think the ‘magic’ is starting to fade? I still remember the time when my first head-cab amp was arriving in my house when I still was 15-16yo . What about the connection between the guitarist and the vibrations that you feel on your feet and all from beast amps like these? What about the dynamics. No doubt the software you demonstrated there is awesome!
I don’t think the “magic” starts to fade because these are all choices. 20 years ago we didn’t have these options. I still use tube amps + cabs on stage. At home I don’t, it’s more convenient to use plugins. To each their own.
@@firetv Nothing came up close to the happiness bubble for a guitarist which is cabs and good amps, be it solid state or tubes. I like to fuck around in the studio so I use all sorts of things at the same time, from a peavey bandit through old orange cabs to soldano 6L6 to EL34 amps to EL84s amps, all the same time some with slight delay added and/or harmonizer or slight pitch shift to do iron maiden etc stuff when needed. Nothing digital came up close and I should what? Mix all sorts of captures etc? It is recorded tone, it is the mic that does a lot of the work along with the cab or cab sim which right now it pretty much is a very complex reverse eq...IR. From the kemper to tonex without IRs, it's nothing. But what happens when your ears are the stereo mics, in the studio with all the reflections and dynamics etc...Haven't found anything replicating that. I like tech21 stuff. You had and interview with Joe. Funny that he used the tech21 plugin...those are very frequency free you can choose and sculpt what you want. Definitely livilier than more conventional modellers and easier to get bad tones out of them at the same time. Maybe you should demo one.
four hours on a decently specked computer is insanely prohibitive. And, if you go with the windows machine, you’re going to experience strange bottlenecks that make absolutely no sense. I’m still going back-and-forth with tech-support because I have a very powerful computer with all drivers updated. The GPU specs are all solid. There’s no reason for my machine to simply fail at the modeling process after the capture. it will not create a neural network. So, you can go with the short bet and do this on a Mac and wait four hours for each individual finished rendered capture or you can go with a PC and end up with who knows what strange idiosyncratic and individual that will only happen on your computer. And no one will have any idea and who knows if it will ever get fixed. You’ll be swapping out parts until the end of time and you’re not gonna really know. When it works, but I’d recommend just cortex for now until they work out the bugs in their system. It’s a very buggy and often temperamental program if it works at all.
@@firetv It's probably because it uses the graphics card GPU to accelerate the process, so a gaming PC is better than a Mac Studio for this, I have an Nvidia 2080 Ti for reference.

Hi Gus , it's a great capture tone ! Sounds amazing !
Your tone is amazing! all these maybe too complicate for me but very useful informations! thank you so much!
Great job man

Can you do your old Randall?
Would love to if I could find one
@@firetvYou sold your T2HH? 😱
I wanted a blackfire 200 so bad and settled on the s1 200, had to sell it though. The extra punch on the fire and fury channels are unbelievable
I love the chorus part on Till the end of time. Was always thinking it was keys and guitars combo. Do a play through man. Thanks

no you can't, you have to use the graphics they provide
