Nice comparison. IMO, flats - 1st, phosphor bronze - 2nd, 80/20 bronze - distant 3rd. The flats match up with this guitar very well, they make it sound like a much more expensive guitar than it is. The phosphor bronze were surprisingly nice, very mellow but with a touch more brilliance than the flats. I didn't care for the 80/20 bronze at all, no warmth, not a good match for this guitar. Thank you for the video, nicely done. And nice playing!
Thanks, I just put flats on my late 1960s Harmony. It had flats on it when I bought it used but the top E broke so I restrung it with a set of 85/15 round wound. It didn't seem to have the same feel and it did before. I restrung it with flat wound and it feels and sounds great. It is its own character.
Thanks 👍🏼 I liked the phosphor bronze best, but it was close with the flats. Which played the best to you, feel-wise? I would really like to hear some silk & steel type strings on an arch top. Perhaps a phosphor bronze version?
Nice playing. Personally I lean towards the flat wounds but you really should have plugged in the 'De Armond' and let us hear how each set sounded through an amp !!!
Great playing. Great demo for sure. Flats for me. How do you like the guitar please? I ask because I have been eyeballing that very same one and could use an opinion please. Kindest regards, David
Hi David , It's perfect for me to play jazz acustic ,good size to play for a long time , warm and sweet tone I love it . but it's not friendly to plug-in , the pickup is louder and only one volume , no tone control . I will record a new video with amp . Thank you for watching !
@@JacobTsai902 Thank you kindly for your quick response Sir. I was thinking the same thing about it being plugged in too. Is there a difference between running it through a acoustic amplifier and a electric guitar amplifier? It sure does look good and your playing, while certainly superior to mine, sounded about what I had anticipated it would……better actually. Again you have my kindest regards for your post Sir. I shall definitely look forward with anticipation for you ‘ plugged in ‘ demonstration. Kindest regards, David
@@daveyponderosa9549 I just enjoyed a wonderful time with my guitar , I don't have acoustic amplifier , so I plugged in my Fender Champion 40. I think plugged in acoustic amplifier is just as good. thank you for watching again , hope you like my new video ! ruclips.net/video/YlLVCu8VNw0/видео.html

The difference just speaks, if you hit the strings really hard. On a solid , acoustic archtop, the difference is 30 db!!!!

Thank you ! I'll play plugged in next time !
