STORYLINE
Hundreds of Pyongyang citizens continued to file past the body of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il lying in state at the Kumsusan Memorial palace on Thursday, as the nation observed an 11-day period of mourning.
Footage filmed by APTN North Korea showed the glass coffin holding Kim's body, surrounded by blossoms of his namesake flowers, red "kimjongilia".
As the orchestra played solemn music, women wept and wailed as they paid their respects to their deceased leader.
Dramatic scenes of mourning in the capital have continued nearly nonstop since Monday's announcement of Kim's death, which the government says happened two days earlier when he suffered a massive heart attack while on a train.
The country's power transition to Kim's young son Kim Jong Un appeared to be going smoothly on Thursday, with state media calling him "outstanding leader" and no signs of unrest on the capital's streets or unusual troop movements.
Foreign governments have focused intense scrutiny on North Korea since Kim's death was announced, because of concerns over his untested heir's rise in a country with a nuclear programme, 1.2-million strong military and a history deep animosity toward its neighbours.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of North Koreans continued to mourn on Pyongyang's streets for the man who led the country for 17 years as it struggled with famine and exasperated the United States and its allies with a steady push to build nuclear weapons.
According to official media, more than 5 (m) million North Koreans have gathered at monuments and memorials in the capital since Kim's death.
The 11-day period of mourning will culminate in a state funeral and a national memorial service on December 28-29.

Well try to put yourself in their shoes. You live in a country in which propaganda told you since your birth that you can eat, have a home, can go to school, have free healthcare and that you are protected from evil outsiders all thanks to one man. Basically you were told since birth that this one man achieved much more for you than your own parents, and your very own parents endorse this idea as well.
No wonder they cry. You may find this funny, or think you are immune to such brainwashing, but there is reason to believe that wherever you are, you were or are currently affected by some form of propaganda. Maybe there is a brand you love like Apple and would never buy a PC, or maybe there is a financial guru you admire and would defend him of any criticism online because you are convinced that he is right.
Propaganda is a dangerous tool, and one day you will think back and tell yourself "damn was I dumb to believe in such things and people"

I believe their Cry's are mostly sincere. They have been born into and raised by a system that teaches them there leaders are there only salvation. Imagine not having a say, input or choice in your life that makes you happy?
