mw2 remastered is better in graphic wise, obviously. but for me, the sound of mw2 original is more appealing and kind of crisp so to say. + I love the detail of shotgun category in remastered which is an action of putting a shell in the chamber first when the gun is empty.

I find it interesting that some guns have radically modernized animations and others are virtually identical to the original animations from MW2, with a handful like the M16A4 even using slightly modified COD4 animations. It’s not necessarily a bad thing and the new animations are definitely high quality, but regardless I’d love to know why they chose this half and half approach to animation upgrades.
I’d assume it’s because some of the old ones are decent by current standards, while some required an upgrade to appear less smooth or robotic. Also, some animations probably needed updates to appeal to the way modern tactics have changed. Or, to reflect the average player’s increased gun knowledge since 2010. For example, the shotgun animations have been, “John Wicked” to appear more “tactical” (I do like their new animations more, honestly). Also, they added the HK slap to the MP5K. Probably because the average player has come to view that as iconic now. Previously, the HK slap was something only hardcore gun nerds knew about.

I think a lot of the guns look a lot better in terms of their models. On the other hand, they messed with quite a few things. 1) The sound of the M4A1 is basically a direct rip from MWR, which seems kind of lazy. There are many other weapons where this is the case, but the M4A1 seems to be the most blatant example. 2) The reload animations on some guns are different. The UMP-45 is the biggest offender for me, as it seems really lifeless and rigid compared to the old one. 3) The M9 looks completely different, a lot bulkier. That thing used to be my favorite pistol of all time, now it just looks bloated. Some weapons don't look as good or have that same "feel" from the original.

Like the mag change for the WA2000 (in the original version) sounds like someone jamming a wet sponge into a DVD player. Such an odd noise that I’m not sure how they even created it.
With mw2 you can actually hear that the guns have power and the mechanics inside the gun working, with mw2r it sounds so dull and quiet...But then again it's a remaster of what guns probably sound like now..? Comment if I'm wrong
One thing you missed: the M4A1 has different sounds across MW2’s multiplayer and campaign. The multiplayer version sounds similar to the MW3 version, while the campaign version is more like the MW1 version. Hence the comparison should’ve been made between the campaign and remaster version, otherwise the sounds do not match.
they did. you can’t spam the desert eagle or barrett in the remaster but the .44 is about the same. all of the pistol fire caps were halved i think EDIT: barring the beretta, which actually seems to have had the cap removed altogether
Most of the sounds of the remaster just don't cut it for me. The are bland boring and just not satisfying to listin. Some exceptions which do sound great are the Barret, Deagle, magnum and the Striker. Those are the original sound but beefed up I really love those. I also have to give props to the animations themselfs. The sound of the animations are pretty much the same story.

Notice how when shooting the original spas, the charging handle goes back by itself, and then the soldier pumps it.
Its a quirk in the original engine. w1200 also has it especially on the last shot were he does not pump the weapon but it still ejects the last shell.

M1014 realistic reload is the best reload of the shotgun I've ever seen in MW2R.

Games do exaggerate some of the sounds guns make. The FAL reload is a perfect example of this.
