I've never been big on fighting games, but this stream has me pining for more. Unexpectedly, it was exactly what my day needed.
I wasn't either, until I snagged a copy of the original Tekken. It's very fun once you get ahold of the controls. (Like any other game I suppose.) Haha
I love how there were just two extremes… Rosie dominated Rob and then Rob dominated Dave
To see Rosie go into this setting up Dave the best she could and then see Dave go on to not only drop the ball but shatter it and take a poop on it was really not too surprising.
Loved the Chris Kamara reference from Rob 😂

I haven’t played tekken since resurrection for the psp, I was really good with hwarang, baek, and devil Jin, but my number 1 best character was lily, I had all of her attacks memorized down to muscle memory and she plays well as a hyper aggressive mid-range fighter, she’s pretty safe too, a lot of her attacks that left her open often left enough space between you and the opponent that a simple backflip or a leg sweep would prevent you from getting punished… also she hits like a truck

VOD Squat: Remember when Paul's big punch was SOOOOO op? At a local theater, there was a Tekken 3 machine, and I once won the entire campaign using Paul doing NOTHING but that big punch and then running over to stomp on the opponent.

I have looked forward to "the christmaz maze" for about a year. I just klicked this thing because I randomly played this game last week for the first time ever. I find the introduction of Robert S Pearson so very bittersweet!
I haven’t played Tekken in a long time, but it’s great to see the PlayStation Access team playing it. I was mainly a Yoshimitsu player, but I haven’t enjoyed playing him as much for the last couple games because they changed his play style so much.

As a competitive tekken player i have to say this was very entertaining to watch.
I'm not a competitive Tekken player, but I am a competitive Street Fighter player and yes 100%. The FGC can be so niche, seeing us represented on such a big channel is always good

Just finished watching this. It's absolutely one of my favorite streams. Love Tekken and the Rush Challenge was a great idea.

Rosie v Rob is a pretty unfair start, really. Rosie tends to kick all PlayStation Access in just about everything.
Ah, but this is why Rosie played the first half-set, and then Dave, the self-admitted button masher with little Tekken experience, took over for the latter half--to give Rob a fighting chance (pun intentional).
True, but there’s always gonna be a better gamer. Cant hide from Rosie forever!
I like to think Panda keeps calling Kuma, in my mind the conversation goes like. Panda: Hey Kuma are we going to meet up today? Kuma: yes honey but I got to take care of a few things real quick. Panda calls again: I'm at the station now should be there soon, you better be at Violet Systems already. Kuma: almost done with stuff I'll be right there. Panda: KUMA I've been waiting for an hour where are you? Kuma: I'm just a few blocks away. BTW are you sure you don't wanna hold anything back I don't wanna give my love a real black eye. Panda: oh hell yes I'm not going to hold back, making me wait even though I put on the cute outfit you like.
LOL . . . I think it goes the other way though! Kuma is the one who's in unrequited love with Panda!

Thought Rob was barred from using Rage Arts until Rosie asked him if he knew how to do it. He had so many of these fights a Rage Art away from winning. (I don't like Rage Arts but if they are there, might as well use them.)
I know I'm late to the party, but thought I'd comment anyway. Gigas is essentially Marcus. Not the best at range, but a real powerhouse up close and personal. You can't give your opponent a chance because of how slow he is. You need to stay in close. Nice stream though. Makes me want to get back into Tekken. I do need to brush up on my skills in preparation for Tekken 8.
One tip for Dave from a mediocre Tekken player. When somone starts blocking, move away from them and let them instigate. Don't keep bashing on their block because they're just waiting for an opportunity to hit you and combo. I can't string combos well but I can concentrate hits at opportune moments. Don't bash on someone's block. Back off and wait for them to make the next move and then capitalize.
Dave is showing a textbook explanation of "Definition of Insanity" in this one. loved it.

I Rob used Rage Art or the one that you can press with R1 at least. Just to make it interesting.
But i do agree with the others here that it's refreshing to watch non-pros play this game. It"s like being with your buddies whithout anyone practicing. Just fun and quick button presses.
Aww poor Rob. Yoshi is a notoriously difficult character to use. Good job powering through, though!

Rob you did well
Rage Arts should be a reward for being good at the game, not a catch up mechanic. Like the finishers in all or most fighting games are. If you're good you get rewarded with a punishing finisher. Instead Tekken decides to reward the losing party. Either remove the mechanic all together or change the system so that if you're good you get to do special moves.

I can see a new series in here, like the fifa series Dave should get lessons from some pro tekken players and then go to competition and see how he can do :D
