- Guess what! Disney Genie changed again! Molly is putting the skip-the-line system to the test with an all scientific experiment. We'll be testing at all four parks, and this week it's Magic Kingdom's turn. They have the most Lightning Lanes -- but it's also the most expensive park -- follow along to see if it's worth the cost and for lots of Genie+ tips!

My 7 year old daughter has been watching your videos for almost a year. She eats her meals while pretending to give a dining review and then she pretends to be booking lightening lanes. This morning she said she was fiddle faddeling and got got by the genie. I am cracking up! I hope we get to meet you in the park sometime!

I probably won't be able to go before TIANA'S BAYOU Opens. That ride will make me feel RIGHT AT HOME since I live in NOLA

We live near DL and Epcot is always our fave but Tron added a lot and we had a great time at MK this summer. I would not do MK without genie +

A character video would be amazing including character meals. Maybe the best snacks or meals at each land or park. Who gets to ride the most rides at each park for a little competition. Thank you all for your dedication and taking time to meet your fans at the parks when you are not recording. ❤

It’s so interesting.. last September I went to Orlando for the first time. Mostly to visit Universal but I wanted to visit MK for a day. I did purchase Genie +. When I returned home I realized I only had 2 pictures at MK and dozens at Universal. I finally realized why… I was on my phone the entire time at MK. Walking, in lines and on rides trying to book the next attraction or mobile order food. I zigzagged all over the place and that wasn’t fun. If I go back I’m not purchasing that again.
I agree.... my phone died in Hollywood studios and that meant I had to spend about 30 minutes searching for a Fuel Rod station (there is one in the camera shop near the entrance should you ever need it) and buy the fuel rod then get back to Tower of Terror to tap in and then book the next ride. Definitely better at Universal.
We definitely ride more rides with it but yes as the mom I'm always looking at my phone and that's not as fun

I just wanted to take the time to say "Thank you" for this set of videos. My family took a trip to the parks a few weeks ago and got Genie+ for all parks except Animal Kingdom. While I initially balked at spending the extra money, using your tips really helped maximize how much we could get done. When most rides had 30+ minute waits, and with two younger kids who would not handle waiting in line in the heat of Florida summer, it was definitely worth the added cost to us.
These videos were a godsend and helped us quickly get up to terms with the current iteration of Genie+, which meant more time for getting on rides and meeting characters which my kids greatly appreciated. 'Fiddle faddle' was definitely one of our most used phrases during our time in the parks, haha.
I definitely need a character video. As a Disney Adult who loves the characters but especially character dining I feel like we need a true homage to all things Disney Character, but especially Goofy. (I can neither confirm or deny my character bias. 😉Pay no attention to my user name 😂)

Yes to this. And goofy is my main man also (tied with Mike and Sully) my daughter doesn’t understand why I love meeting goofy so much.

MAM crew, I'd be really interested to know how much screen time Molly has in My Disney Experience on a day like this. With one of the big complaints around being on your phone too much, curious to get some numbers there.
I wish Disney would just do a universal express pass type thing. It's so much less confusing.

@@marshmallowcreep9043I rather pay less and have a limited version than a hundred per person for universal. For a family of five, universal pass is just to expensive (except if you book a deluxe resort of course)
We just visited Disney last week, and the Genie was worth it in MK for my daughter and I. We used Lightening Lane on 10 rides- walk on to 5 minute waits. It’s especially worth it if you’re purchasing for less people. We were totally fine Not buying Genie for EPCOT because there’s not many rides to use it in. The most we waited for any ride was 30minutes for Remy & Frozen (had virtual queue for Guardians and did single rider for Test Track).
Even with it being summer, crowds weren’t bad. Maybe it’s the extreme heat and high costs? Anyways, I’ve only found Genie Plus helpful at MK or maybe during busiest times of year (Christmas, Spring Break, July 4th).

A character video would be amazing! Any tips of how to see the most characters, the best places to find them and any specific order that works best!
Also, character dining info’ would be great. Be good to see a bit of a comparison of what each one is like - both experience and the food. It would also be really helpful for any tips to booking dining (character or other) 👍🏻

I watch as I love all your videos. I am ever so grateful that my 2 grown sons and I had our first magical time at Disney World in September of 2019! With all the changes and now being on your phone so much of the time trying to figure everything out... I have no desire to return. The experience is being "present" for your magical time - not being on the phone constantly.
I would love to see a character video. Not just meeting the characters, but also conversation starters for the ones that do meet and greet.

I would love to see the calculations factor in the time saved on the max wait in that day or the average day, as it’s sometimes being compared against a lower standby wait time. I think this is still a great series!!

A character video would be so awesome!! It’d be interesting to see if you could meet as many as possible but with no repeats… so like no Garden Grill and then Topolino’s, bc you’d meet Mickey twice. But maybe it wouldn’t be that challenging 😂

You almost need a college degree to figure out your day at Disney. Don’t think I would want to be tied to my phone all day. It all sounds to complicated. Thanks for all you do.
The last time I went to Disney was in 2019. I don't understand this change other than for $$$$ reasons. Frankly, Fast pass looks far simpler than this. I was on my phone far less with fast pass as well. Sounds like with this you're glued to it 24/7 and that yanks literally *all* fun out of the parks.
Genie and Genie + is the beginning of the end imo. If Iger can just ditch it for a revised fast pass in the same vein as idk, Universal's package (or even better, just go back to the old fast pass method from before COVID), then things will improve *drastically*
We're going to the Magic Kingdom this Sunday. My first time in over 20 years, my wife's first time ever. These Genie videos are SO helpful!

I plan to purchase genie+ for all of the parks for my family of 4. If we are going to pay for a trip, it’s worth it to me to be sure we maximize our time there. Molly, I have to thank you for your content. It is the most helpful I’ve ever found when planning a trip. And you make it so fun!!
This is SUPER helpful! I will definitely purchase Genie Plus! I live in Cali and I haven’t been to Disneyland since 2010, and they only Fast Pass and I only used that for one ride. The rest of the time I just took my chances in line, and back in the day, that’s the only thing you could do!

Molly is the Queen of Genie+. I'm looking forward to the park hopper edition because I will be figuring out how to stack for the afternoon park, while using minimal lighting lanes for the morning.

I definitely do not hit the parks as hard as you do Molly. I did accomplish a lot at Magic Kingdom last time I was there but I had different priorities. It seems like for my style of park going only Hollywood Studios would be a must purchase for Genie+. Yes to character interaction video! Thanks for all of your hard work.
OMG yes I'd love a whole video of character meets!!!! I love meeting with characters!!! On one trip i made it my mission to meet all the princesses and have them sign my art of Disney princesses book!!!
I’d say totally worth it. Last Saturday we didn’t wait in one line. We rode everything and almost everything atleast twice and did Tron 2 times once during the day and once at night on LL. The park is really nice with the low crowds! If there is anything beneficial to Disneys poor decision making. It’s the low park crowds.

We watched the parade twice. Once in Frontierland we walked up right as the parade started and had a perfect view then on Main Street again we stood behind people sitting down. Definitely didn't feel like we needed a Lightning Lane or to wait around for it to start

I love all your advice! I used a lot of it on our trip a few weeks ago. Hoping to someday run into you at the parks. I think a character video would be great! I agree that how you talk to the characters even as an adult can make all the difference. One of my favorite moments on my last trip with just my husband was Tigger photo bombing our picture with Pooh at Crystal Palace.

Confirmed my thoughts on the matter for our next 4-park trip. Doing ILL for Flight of Passage at AK combined with a later in the day arrival, and Genie+ everywhere else. Enchanted Tales is a high priority (it wasn't back when we were last at DW), so we'll prob get a LL for that and then do it standby as well if my kids are as enamored with it as I think they will be! SUPER helpful, thanks Molly!
We so appreciate these kinds of videos! Thank you for doing this! We were there in May and that was our learning curve of genie plus. Took us a couple days to get the hang of it. We will be there the week after thanksgiving and now feel confident to rock this genie plus! Challenge excepted! I am always up to a good challenge lol! We are looking forward to your future videos of tips and a good look at the Hollywood Jollywood and Mickeys very merry Christmas. My husband and I will be attending both. Epcot has 2 fancy rides also, cosmic rewind and frozen.
Frozen Ever After is not a fancy ride, it’s part of Genie+.

The buzz lightyear ride is a must ride at least 20 times with my young son. I think when we rode it in Disneyland this year, we totaled around 50 rides.

I was wondering that as well and whether or not you can be as flexible with a party of four. Love the advice on not running around the park since our kids are young and wouldn’t be able to handle that!

I really like these videos on genie plus. If I'm going to buy genie plus it's so that I don't need to criss-cross the park. Without genie I can normally do everything with criss-crossing and watching wait times.

I think it's good to know that you don't need genie + to book "fancy rides". Personally, I don't mind waiting in line if I actually want to go on a ride, but I'll never wait 4 hours even for the newest rides.
I wonder too if genie + is always worth it for a solo traveler because being alone in line could feel "longer" and it's obviously cheaper when it's just 1. I think the video is really valuable and I show which attractions are not worth using a lightening lane.
We always Gennie+ with park hopper. Rope drop a park while stacking evening rides at another park. Take a lunch break at the hotel pool and then hit all the stacked rides.

Happy anniversary! Thanks for all these "is it worth it? videos. I would, though, like to see a video where you actually do the parks in the most efficient and "typical" way. Like you said, there really is no need to book a lightning lane for Belle's adventures. Could you show a way to look for the most time saving lightning lanes and show what time filler rides to use between them? I'm curious to see how many attractions you could accomplish in 1 day using the best practices methods, rather than the challenge methods.
