    I have the LTE version of the Galaxy watch 5 pro. After a 3 day camping trip, I had 14% still remaining. I had GPS on, Wi-Fi off, AoD off, Bluetooth on, sleep tracking on, and brightness at 50-60%. We did a tracked hike of 70-90 minutes on 2 days. I was quite happy with the battery life. My only complaint is with the magnetic band. It did unlatch itself multiple times when scaling more rough terrain, as it brushed against object.
    I will need to find a good replacement for the band.
    P.S. there is a way to enable Blood Pressure monitoring by removing the geo-restictions...however, you sacrifice the ability to sync the data into the Samsung Health app directly.

    Hi from Portugal!
    Great Review!
    What would you buy between GW 5 Pro and Garmin Venu 2 Plus? I work in a Gym and do a lot of exercise and some runs so i need a equipment who have good HR monitor and good fitness features. I know Garmin is more builld for atlhetes than GW and more accurate in different measurements. Have you another suggestion to Buy?
    Thanks

    Please learn that Google Assistant and Bixby are not the same type of assistants. Although they can do some of the same things, Bixby is an assistant for the watch, phone, tablet ect interface. GA is for web search. Please take time to learn that so you won't be making the incorrect comparison.

    • @FitnessWithFrost
      @FitnessWithFrost 2 года назад +3

      I understand where you are coming from, but you also have to understand how they were trying to sell Bixby for the first couple years and the next best assistant. When they learned that they couldn't keep up with others in that then they leaned into it just being more of a device assistant. That's really not what people are looking for in general though

    • @mrmossimop
      @mrmossimop 2 года назад +3

      @@FitnessWithFrost I understand you. Samsung marketed it right. I feel people just heard the word "Assistant" and immediately thought it was meant the same assistance as Google Assistant. However, what I heard from RUclipsrs was that Bixby is not as good as GA. That comment got picked up by most every RUclipsr and it was constantly repeated. Hearing them say that told me that they had no idea what Bixby was meant for. If they'd read the tutorials that Samsung included and still includes they would have known it's use purpose and not unnecessarily compared the 2. Hearing you and others still throw in a little comment saying that GA is a better assistant or I prefer GA tells me that Bixby is still misunderstood and people have not takened the time to find what is used for. And actually it's very useful if you know what it can help you do.

    13 things Samsung is NOT telling you about the new Galaxy watch 5
    1- Saphire glass is more scratch resistant, however shatters more easily. (This is why true time pieces don't use it)
    2- The watch 5 looks the way it does, because Samsung decided to drop their actual watch partner in favor of in house design (Google still works with scoggin and fossil tho)
    3- The battery is only bigger because the sensors have been upgraded, they added more tracking,and added another unnecessary sensor. More features all the time requires more battery usage...thus the bigger battery.
    4- They decided to pull a page out of Apples playbook by designing the watch in such a way, that you almost are required to purchase a special cradle charger because the regular ones no longer work, and the shape of the bands prevents it from being used on most Samsung chargers made for watches, INCLUDING the one that came with it/ with the pre order... So now not only are they not including a charging brick...they are essentially making you purchase their new separate chargers as well.
    (Apple did this almost every year with their Mac books if you remember)
    5 - it's basically the same specs as the Watch 4 under the hood, just with a new body.
    6- They went with Titanium, not because of any light weight it has, or allergy issues. It was released in titanium because titanium can't be put into other colors without using acid based primers and all that stuff 8 can explain if you'd like... Basically they did this to prevent the issue with people asking for other colors...now they don't need to worry about that...u get black and grey...ta-da!
    7- The new sensor probably won't be ready to use until the Watch 6 is released.
    8- Almost every update the watch 5 has (including watch faces but minus the new sensor) will be pushed via an update to the Watch 4 series9- There are many unworked bugs in the system they knew about but released it anyway so they had a full line up on their last presentation.
    10- They forgot to mention how the watch now doesn't like to play well with other phones that aren't a Samsung...granted a few things were cut off if you didn't own a Samsung phone....now even if it's an Android itself, you lose out of even more.
    11- That strap is a sad excuse to not even give you a faux leather one anymore, because one wouldn't even look good on it.
    12- that new "rotating the screen" to mimic the old rotating bezel...well that actually takes up battery as well. Every time you preform that, it's a gusture..just auto turned on backed into the system. Gustures take up battery, as well as the haptic feedback it gives you as part of its imitation. Just another reason for that bigger battery..
    13- This is the Galaxy Active line, rebranded. Until further backlash reverses the decision, the Classic line has silently been discontinued in favor of the more sporty Apple-esgue appearance.

    I'm a little surprised that Samsung and Apple can actually stay in business with watches that can't last a full day. But sure, they admittedly do more than some competitors like Amazfit. But personally it'd be hard to justify paying 4 times more to have an actual spotify app or a keyboard on my watch and reduce the battery life from 2 weeks to 1 day. It'd be maybe acceptable in a more entry level product but 300-500€ watch can't die in a day. It's somewhat pathetic to have to market the product that it charges fast while you are in the toilet so you can even get through one day lol. Obviously having to charge basically over night also kinda kills sleep tracking unless you wanna top it off between waking up and heading out, but... why? Competitors don't need to do that. I just.. dont get it.

    • @FitnessWithFrost
      @FitnessWithFrost 2 года назад +1

      I definitely agree. Everytime I get to test out a watch where I don't need to worry about battery life it just feels so much better. But since Apple kind of started the trend it became almost acceptable. If they ever made a watch that had a week worth of battery life it would blow people's minds
