  • In this video, my nephew Joseph and I attempt to find the queens in some colonies. He is a big help in the bee yard and is enjoying learning more about honeybees. He's also a great designated driver as you'll see in the video.

Some great questions Joseph! It's encouraging to see the younger generation getting involved. Thanks for sharing Johnny and God bless.

I agree Keith! Hasn't had his first sting but, definitely seems he's been bitten by the proverbial bug. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Johnny, it looks like you have a nephew that’s interested in a great hobby. May I suggest giving him a nuc and keep it there where it’s at. That way he may want to get more involved. You could let him start saving to buy a 10 frame box for it to grow into or help him build one. Then next year let him have the honey from his hive to eat and sell along with making a split to put back into the 5 frame box that you give him. He would probably be a lot of help down the road. How many acres do you have there? I would love to live out in the country but I just have never been able to talk my wife into it. She grew up in the country and she had enough so she says.

Absolutely love your idea on setting up a nuc for Joseph. I had thought about it multiple times, but it never dawned on me to leave it with my bees. Makes perfect sense! Had only considered setting one up at his house, but didn't want him or other family members to get stung up. Your idea is simply brilliant and I so much appreciate you taking the time to share it. Watch for more videos of Joseph not only helping with the bees, but becoming a beekeeper himself!! Don, thank you kindly!! I really appreciate you, man! God bless you and yours!!!
