The military requires you to obey all lawful orders. But if you know an order is unlawful, you are required to follow the law and not the order. Saying you were just following orders is no excuse, you're still responsible for breaking the law. That's why they were found guilty of conduct unbecoming, because they knew code reds were supposed to be forbidden.
My new friend, you did a great reaction here. Truly. Well done! You were on every point. Great laughter and cunning reads. Just subscribed. Keep it going!
This is one of my favorite courtroom movies. My favorite is My Cousin Vinny with Joe Pesci. I don't know if you've seen it yet, but it is absolutely hilarious.
One of my favorite moments is when the judge reprimands the colonel (Jack Nicholson): And the witness will address this court as Judge or Your Honor. I'm quite certain I'VE earned it. YESSSSSSSSSSSS. 😄❤
Great reaction my friend, I love your reactions! Please react to another great court room movie, The Rainmaker, 1995, I think. Starring Matt Damon, Jon Voight, and Danny Devito!
Make the work of Aaron Sorkin a part of your life--The West Wing (the first four seasons), The Newsroom, The Social Network, Molly's Game. Sorkin is a brilliant writer of dialogue, and all his work is very rewarding,
You might also want to have a look at "Casualties of War", which is also based on a true story, and addresses the question of what to do when given unlawfull orders.
New to your channel, great reaction 🙂 This story is, sort of, based on a true story. Arron Sorkin, who wrote the film, got the story from his sister Deborah. She is a lawyer and did a 3 year stint in the JAG Corp. She was asked to defend 3 marines who were charged with assaulting a fellow marine under the instructions of an officer. There was no death of the marine in the real story. Danny is based in part on Sorkin's sister, Deborah. Fantastic film, 100% a masterpiece 🙂
I may be wrong, but I always saw the order "Unit, Core, God, Country" as putting God 3rd in line, below Unit and Core, which are considered the top most important things to a soldier. (As in, look after your unit and respect your Marine core first, and then God and country) Can any soldiers out there confirm? Or is the order being stated from bottom to top, with Country above all else and God 2nd, and then the Marine core and your unit?
As a former Marine when you are given a direct order no matter what you think you follow through with that order or you get punished you don't have chances for promotion
Colonel Jessup was 100% right. When you address a superior officer, you show the proper respect that comes with that rank. You’re not respecting the man, you’re respecting the rank, and Danny-boy failed. His heels were locked up properly the way they should be.
The Navy Medical corps failed to diagnose a life threatening condition and reported it to the marine's command as an attitude problem. That they were not the ones on trial angers me.
I eat breakfast 300 yards away from 4000 reactors who are trained to argue with me. So don't think you can come here, flash a reply, and make me nervous 🚬
Kevin Pollock (Cruise's helper) is a comedian and said on interviews and podcasts about making this movie. Apparently Jack nailed that speech EVERY time and never rehearsed it once
How come so many people have done reactions to this movie but almost nobody has done a reaction to "Rules of Engagement?" "Rules of Engagement" is a superior movie in every way.
Take it steady on this man. It's a prima fascia viewing. No need to light it up. Military incuded and aside, and all rsepects due those entitled, stop barking till you prove rank.

I saw it. So funny! It should be in the courtroom playlist if you wanna check it out
I love that we see the opposing counsel not being "bad". Kevin Bacon plays bad guys perfectly, but "Jack" was opened and honest and I loved it
Great reaction, loved your breakdown, thank you
I appreciate it!
Great reaction!! If you haven't seen it yet, please do a reaction to 12 Angry Men (1957).

YESSSSSSSSSSSS. 😄❤
Haha yeah I know!
GREAT reaction; fun to watch your - - well - - reactions, LOL. Also, very interesting commentary at the end of the video.

A Time to Kill is an AMAZING court room movie!
My all time favorite movie
Tom Cruise is a phenomenal actor (Jerry McGuire, The Firm) . Love seeing him in these roles prior to Mission Impossibles of action/stunts...

Amazing movie, with an all star cast.

You may be right
Your reaction to Keifer Sutherland was funny af and on point he was weird in this.
Notice Dawson staring a hold thru Kendrick while he was testifying.
Thought I subscribe after your Warrior reaction but I guess not, subbed now bud!!
As a former Marine when you are given a direct order no matter what you think you follow through with that order or you get punished you don't have chances for promotion
you need to wach the movie The Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Mogan Freeman
This movie’s so good.
Did you give up on the karate kid show
No, I just got to start editing them. Full reactions of every season are on my patreon
Cool
I wonder what part the guy is talking about to say that's not the best part. This is a fantastic movie but that part is the best part

That’s definitely a tragedy
there are a few parodies - 100% funny
God should be first ! You should watch "The General's Daughter" with John Travolta it has twists and turns in it!
Conan can handle the Truth.

One of my most favorite movies ever. Tommy Lee and Samuel L??? Hell yes
OMG boy first 2 minutes and I know you need to study your military history. I'm not sure if you know this is not a comedy. Stop laughing.
