I have to say I have tried a few recipes from some chefs that have millions of followers and their over complicated recipes were always a failure. Yours hands down IS THE BEST AND EASIEST RECIPE I have tried so far. Thank you so much. I can confidently say I can bake a loaf of sour dough bread. 😊😊😊
this singlehandedly changed my entire pov of baking sourdough, I’ve so far made 3 mediocre loaves using these really intense recipe guidelines and messing it up at the last step, this is so informative and takes on a much more chilled approach to it. Thank you!!!!
@@welshrarebit1153 I recommend watching "Your First Sourdough Bread (FULL COURSE in 30 minutes)" by The Bread Code for a really throughout explanation of the sourdough bread-making process
This is probably the easiest sourdough bread recipe I've come across so far! I baked my first bread today from Claire Saffitz's recipe and it came out great, but had a lot more steps than yours. That's why I can't wait to try your recipe next time. Thanks so much!
OMG 6 MONTH'S of attempting to make a decent loaf I was sticking with the one recipe all this time and weighing out by grams in desperation when I saw your video and the fact that you measured out in cups i thought right I have nothing to lose and tried baking same day and wooooooow first decent rise ever the dough just felt right. Seriously i have watched hundreds of videos you've the best.
I’ve been watching a lot of videos on how to make sourdough bread & honestly they made seem so complicated but with this video I’m honestly going to start today so I can bake one tomorrow. Thank you very much ❤
This was so helpful! I am new to sourdough bread and have been obsessively watching videos. I feel that your video gives the simplest and least intimidating lesson on how to create a beautiful loaf. Thank you so much!
I've seen so many videos, but this one actually made me want to start because of how easy you made it seem! And mine came out so good, my family loved it! :) thank you
Omg thank you very much for this wonderful recipe I’ve been watching a lot of videos on how to bake sourdough bread , but honestly thank God for your video that explains all the measurements so well .At home we’ll love sourdough bread. You’re so beautiful ❤ thank you again for this recipe 🙏
Something I learned recently about making your dough rise in the oven that can help you and others. After you’ve done your scoring, bake in Dutch covered for 7min. Take the dough out after 7mins and go over the large score again. This second score is called ‘expansion score’. Then cover and further bake in Dutch oven for 25mins. Remove lid etc and bake till desired colour. The idea is to do subtle intricate scores at the start and then do the deep expansion score after 7mins of baking. Try it and let us know how it turns out! Tip from: sourdough Enzo.
I'm a new subscriber and I love this video, it was very helpful. I would love to see more making sourdough and maybe how to make or start a sourdough starter. Maybe making sourdough bagels and sourdough rolls. Have you made any sourdough crackers, or pancakes from starter?
This video was so chill and real, I absolutely loved it. No pretentious shit, just making a beautiful but simple loaf. Also, I think this is the first vid where I don't see a "heat up the dutch oven for 1h before baking" - so that's literally unnecessary? :o
Your bread looks great. Im trying to learn how to make one. I saw in some videos that people pre heat dutch oven. Did you tried that? Or it’s better when you put in cold dish? Please advise. Thanks
Many of my breads are tasty, but not rising, being flat. I thought it might be too sticky or wet, but it looks about the same as this. Maybe I'm not getting the surface tension & forming down?
@carlytolkamp I've watched the video on the recipe I'm following for troubleshooting, and I think it's that. It rises a lot, then it has nothing left to give. Thanks. Trying yours next.
@@carlytolkampso cold proofing prevents this from happening? So you put it straight into the oven after the cold proofing?also is there a particular reason why you didn’t not preheat your Dutch oven?

What do you mean by intense recipe guidelines could you explain. I’m trying to understand sourdough before baking

Thank you!! I have done both. I find that it doesn’t make a big difference at all and I usually burn myself if I preheat it haha!
Thank you for this video!
Thank you!!! 🫶🏼
How do you make your starter, do you have a video.?
No but I definitely will consider making one!
@carlytolkamp do you buy a starter or are you making it from scratch?
Noooo don’t toast it! Eat it fresh. Haha.😅 Thanks for this helpful vid. Saving it for later while I order my sourdough equipment ❤❤
You put it straight in a cold Dutch oven? Is there a reason why because all recipes I’ve seen recommend a pre-heated Dutch oven
You need a bowl scraper to not waste what you leave on your mixing bowl

Does it rise before you put it in the oven? Many times dough doesn't rise if it has been overproofed also.

Thank you for this video, I’ll definitely try it! On a side note, the background music was distracting from your voice. 😊
Music is distracting and takes away from the video.
