- Umpfff, I managed! The very last video of #jamuary2023
Gave me a headache really beacuse of technical issues. Couldn't get my DAW effects directly to the video being recorded via OBS, after two hours of trying everything I gave up and recorded sound and video separately. Had to find a free video editor to sync those two, didn't work out so well - therefore the silly watermark. Any ideas for a simple video editor freeware?
So hope it still sounds a bit relaxed as it was hard to relax as I got tired after those challenges with recording. But it's not ideal all the time, whatever. Will improve in future I promise. Today, please just enjoy the music.
To those interested in sound design behind this:
There is a sequence of noise oscilator (microfreak) running in background. Tried to imitate sounds of ocean. I've set a long decay and sustain, slow attack and assigned key/arp to cutoff to get variables in sound, also unsynced LFO to control the cutoff as well. It took some time to get a realistic and randomised swell sounds. On top of it I've added FX via NTS-1 (some stereo delay and riser reverb).
The piano is Bosendorfer sound from my Yamaha P515 and I've added custom reverb I made with help of Valhalla Reverb plugin.
Well, that's about it. Hope you can enjoy. See you next time :)
Absolutely beautiful! Thx.

Ok where to start? This jam man. I am sitting here and all stress of the day is gone .. there are tears in my eyes ... Karel what you are doing is magic, man. I am completely flashed by your talent. I love this jam so so much. Thank you for ending my day this way.
Oh thank you, I'll try to stay humble. :) I had tears too when I played this melody for the very first time, so I understand and appreciate. Wish I could play it how it sounds in my head, but my playing is not there quite yet. There is a second part where featherly light fast arpeggios are running up and down over the same chord progression. I own the piano couple of months, wasn't able to play since my childhood, but with some time and patience I will get there. Need to find a open minded piano teacher as I'm mostly self tought :) Can't wait to share some accoustic guitar playing, that's been my largest source of ideas over last 14 years of playing music. My goal is to improve the production first (get a decent camera and learn how to edit those videos in a more interesting way). Well, seems like New Years resolution to me haha. Little note: the name Kayacura consists of Kaya - (my name) and cura (spanish word for cure). Music is my healing and it takes me to the place I call home. That's where my music comes from, it sometimes comes from very deep and fragile places. Thank you for stopping by. 💚
Thank you. That's beautiful. ☺
