Curious to see how all the electronics and ECM hold up on this. That's a huge investment in a piece of machinery that has that level of electronics and is solely dependent upon proprietary software. I imagine it would require a field service call or a transport to the dealer if/when something goes wrong with a sensor or other electronic items.. Betting that would get expensive real quick. I'd investigate how much of the electronics is covered by warranty and how long. Additionally I'd find out before a purchase how much the replacement electronics cost and the labor rate per hour. Marketing and slick ads are not a substitute for reliability and customer service.
My family runs a new holland shop for 8 years now... we also import and sell used tractors. I live in greece. We import tractors like ts100a which is 14 years old but still have plenty of electronics. Some of them have problems with wires but none of them is very expensive! We cover 1 year warranty on our used tractors. We have had plenty wire harnesses opened because of stripped out or cut wires. It's a good 10 hours for 2 technicians to do the job but we charge 300€ for work. The cabin suspension wears out the cover and most of the time it gets some wires too. But it was running perfect for maybe 10-15 years and I guess the repaired harnesses should run perfectly for another 15. And about the sensors... it is not cheap. But then again if in 5 years you have a maintainable of 5k euros on a tractor that is capable to work for 5.000 hours I think it is a no-brainer!!!
Aren't they all like that now though. It really depends on how good the service is from your local dealer, be it CNH, JD or Agco etc. they can all go wrong. An open source concept tractor would be really cool actually but unlike cars, there probably wouldn't be a large enough community to support it.
I absolutely do not like that steering screen. It's making something simple more complicated than it has to be and I think it could be uncomfortably in the way while driving.
