Is also good to let your partner know about your past life. If the Pastor had informed the wife about his previous relationship with the Lady she wouldn’t have employed the girl as her PA .

Who noticed the church leaders didn’t condemn the pastor , this is what the church should be, I love the fact that the Pastor kept saying God help me and the fact that the couple had a spiritual leader they look up to and listen to.
Did you guys also notice when the man asked his wife, I am concluding with the love series, do you have anything to add?, that’s respect .
Great job to the cast and crew.

Important to note that this is a movie and does not in any way set the standards for what is right or wrong in the church. What and how the matter is handled by elders of the church cannot all be shown in a 2hour video. There is usually a procedure for handing issues like this in Church. Condemning immorality and reprimanding behaviors that do not align with church doctrine and set standards are necessary to uphold the standards set and required of people called to certain positions and responsibilities in the church according to the Scriptures. Nothing wrong with that.

    • @koyejongozi2777
      @koyejongozi2777 26 дней назад +13

She didn't say what the church leaders did was wrong. On the contrary they were commended for their show of love and concern without failing to discipline or uphold the standard of the church.
They were disappointed and pained, but they didn't reject or condemn him to damnation.
There is always a room for repentance as long as there is life. Nwigwe read out a scripture that confirmed God's mercy... Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases..." It never stops! Why? God knows a sinner's story more than anyone else does. He knows the genesis of that addiction or the powers behind that struggle with sin. That is why God will never judge any man, e.g the Samaritan woman and the adulterous woman that was caught in the very act. He knew them more than people that condemn them and HE showed them love and forgiveness instead.
May we not fall into the trap of the enemy in Jesus name.🙏
Pls if you are here and you're feeling helpless and overpowered by sin. This is the time to get closer to God. Jesus came for the sinner's, not the righteous. He loves and cares for you.❤

This ‘encroachment’ into the gospel genre by Nollywood is a positive development. When Mena rose up and helped Pastor Taribo to get up and eat made tears to well up my eyes. It godly to show mercy and it is godly to seek help from who would not judge you. This may be hard, but God’s amazing grace is sufficient unto us.

The fact that the church elders didn’t judge him, the fact that Alex’s friend always tells her the truth, the fact that his wife still forgave him & stood by him, this movie is epic.
    Moral lessons:
    Always speak out
Only u can’t help ursef, sometimes u need help too
When others look up to u for prayers & counsel, never try to cover ur own sin & feel too perfect forgetting u are human too.
Lastly which is actually the first & most important, always run to God, his merciful & kind & always be a father. ❤️❤️❤️

I wish this movie would have focused more on the wife's suffering. She was dealing with abuse and then publicly cheated on. The "mentor" didn't say anything to acknowledge her pain, she just kept begging her to focus on Taribo.
I liked the movie, but unfortunately it did little to address the fact that many women, especially Christian women, suffer in silence and are expected to shelf their pain for the sake of their husbands.
Otherwise, great acting and a heartfelt portrayal of seeking God's mercy.

As much as I see ur point ,I think the main focus of the movie was addiction,a different type of addiction that society hardly acknowledges, the man was addicted to violent sex and he had no control over it ,because it was a habit that was introduced to him as a child and now we see the consequences of that addiction.GBV is often addressed in movies but I think the producers was rather focusing on this rare type of addiction and that it could happen to anyone including the Man U see preaching in church. And for parents to watch who they allow care for their kids ,that even women caring for infants is now dangerous. And yes the woman suffered in her marriage because she was married to a man with a damaged past not necessarily because he wanted to be an abusive husband (specifically in his sexual life).and maybe also open our eyes to people who enjoy BDSM this might actually be as a result of a child hood trauma or how the act of sex was introduced to them.so many lessons indeed, but I see ur point too.

Mrs. CLE you really pulled the finest actors from your vault. Other than Enyinna's acting ability the deeply sad facial expressions when he's quiet says more than words can ever say. He was made for this role. Madame Chioma was brilliant and no one could have pulled this character off with as much conviction as she did. "Mercy" is a truly resonate piece. I know what it's like to endure molestation at a very young age. I didn't suffer bc things came out one day while I was talking to my mother. No words can describe my moms pain, and torment but she took immediate and appropriate action towards this individual and I got so much love and support but so many countless and nameless people don't get the help they need and deserve and so they suffer in silence. I was blessed to have an amazing mother that loved me and did every possible thing she could so my personal story was the best it could be under the circumstances although I'm sure to a degree my trauma has manifested itself in some way. I also grew up in church so I know firsthand how judgmental church folks can be. Church folks knowing certain things about you can be very: painful, shameful, embarrassing and stressful to go through so Pastor Taribo trying to deal with his problems and Trauma in secret yet still getting casted out is unfortunately what needed to happen for things to get better. Mena showed up as a wife at the best possible time. Any one who watches will surely agree. "Take my Hand" had me in tears. Starting over again is not the end of the world. 🙏❤❤🙏

I am breaking any communication barrier so that they feel safe to come up to me with anything. I will not force my kids to go to anyone they are not comfortable with. Also parents of boys should know that boys get abused too. I personally know two men who were abused as boys, one by two neighbours and one by his nanny. Protect your boys. Beautiful movie. When a person dealing with an addiction comes to Christ, he/she needs to yield to the Spirit of God. Then and only then, can there be a change.

How will a brother who fell off faith stand back on his feet when the so-called brethren are quick to judge and throw stones. Mercy indeed is needed for such a man to rise up again. very deep and only God's mercy can pull things up...

It's all about forgiveness, second chance, trying, never giving up and having God in the centre of it all.
Before you are called as a man of God (Pastor), remember He called you as a person first which is why you became born again.
Even if you can't serve as a Pastor, that is not the end of your life.
Pastor T,had to become just T and just worship and be in God's presence.
I'm glad his wife forgave and supported him,in everything you do,marry a kind, empathetic and loving person.

And that's the truth about what Alex said "then tell your wife about me".
The pastor made a grave mistake of not telling the wife earlier.
May God help all men of God out there❤

Pastor's go through alot, they cry in secret, they go through a lot of pain even mockery. People are always quick to judge forgetting they are also human. May God give all genuine Pastor's the grace to keep pushing in such a wicked world with people who constantly want to bring men of God down.

When she said "take my hand, stand up!" it healed something broken in me. It is what I wished I got when I was at my lowest...

When the other lady went to counsel Chioma’s character, I saw less of a concern for the wife and more so for the husband’s wellbeing. She shouldn’t have been asked to return so swiftly to her husband. Especially when no actionable items had been taken on his part to ensure her wellbeing. I understand her husband was not intending to harm her and that he truly was troubled by his actions, but he was in a way abusing her and that needed to be dealt with. This would have been an opportunity for the older lady to perhaps empathetically share some moments of trials she has overcome in her marriage as well, and remind Pastor Mena that God cares about her wellbeing and in His care wouldn’t so quickly release her back into a harmful situation. This movie was obviously made with a spirit of excellence. I only wish I saw these kinks ironed out. 1:16:52

That shouldn’t be the case. The Church should stand with the weak and ensure they get back on their feet. Condemnation is bad.

@@oladokunolaide4856 Some churches may do, but in this movie, Taribu was not abandoned, the church's decision pushed him to get help. Remember, if not for the pastor's wife, Mena would have divorced him or he would have drowned in his mistake. He actually shutted everyone out.

It's like a lot of Nigerian movies, the wife forgives her cheating husband. It's always about GOD when the man cheats it's never about God before he cheats. Stop using the bible certain parts of the bible hypocrites
