Lol i found these when I was making a tarantula island but these always spawned in the ponds and I always saw thought they were vibing in it. But now I learned they're pretty dangerous.
One time I found one of these in a pond and held it in the palm of my hand long enough to take a photo. I then realized “hey this might be dangerous” and put it back. I showed the photo to one of my friends years later and she started freaking out, asking if I realized what kind of bug that was. I said no and she explained how it has one of the most painful bites of any bug and had me watch this video. I’m watching this again a couple more years later. I got attacked by one of these things in Florida when I was a teenager and it got me in the face, it also bit my hand a couple times as I tried to rip it off my face. Afterwards, There was a persistent small hole in my cheek for a few days, my lower eyelid was swollen and basically felt like it was melting on from the inside out. It really was the worst pain I'd ever felt and it lasted for so long. I felt like the puncture was deep enough to hit my facial bone. Like Coyote, these bugs still freak me out even through photos. I can still remember how it felt in my hand as I instinctively grabbed it with my hand, the wings were crunchy but fluttering like crazy but it was also really strong, it was buzzing in my hand while biting still! I threw it and the blasted thing flew away so fast. I had two more pokes in my fingers but not as deep as the one in my friggen face. I thought I was going to be permanently disfigured bc of the location it bit me. Thankfully that didn't happen.
This is basically like saying "hey I was stuck in a house fire when I was little and got horrible burned, today I'm gonna go in a burning house and get burned again to move on from that fear"
Animal Crossing had me thinking these are harmless, the villagers just grab them from the net like nothing lol. Absolutely fearless villagers.. or.. Are the villagers based on Coyote?
bruhhh there used to be a few of them in a pond by my house when i was a child and i would hold them and pet them 😳 they were never aggressive towards me
STORY TIME: About four years ago, we had family over for a get-together to celebrate the 4th of July. The town fireworks were being set off not far from where I lived, so when it was time for fireworks, we'd all walk out past the wooded backyard that had a creek and near the park where they were being set off. Well, once the show was over and we were walking back to the house, my male cousin, who was absolutely inebriated out of his mind, found one of these scary toe-biting waterbugs in the creek in our yard. He picked the bug up, waved it towards me as if he was going to fling it on me or touch me with it, and asked if I wanted my lip pierced. I responded with a frightened, "Hell no!!!" as I ran cuz I was scared 😂😂 Seeing those huge pincers still haunt me to this day!!!
.” They can crawl fast” Ok I’ll stay up high “They can fly” Ok, then I’ll jump in the lake “They can swim Fine I’m moving somewhere else “They are found almost anywhere in the world” NOW HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO AVOID IT!!
I remember watching this in high school and now I'm in college studying for my entomology exam, thought I would use this video as a quick study break but it turned out to be great review for my midterm
Not to mention he always seems to ensure the test subject is always safely back in its container for later assessments before he can begin his pain process. This guy is truly a guru of nature and pain respectively

Not only is he enduring immense pain but he’s also overcoming one of his biggest fears since childhood. Coyote you are a bloody legend
He's not overcoming that fear. He's justifying and solidifying it.

Like for real?
At least his arm is getting the day off this time, lol.
True
xD
Hhhhh true
So so true 😂 lol
Yeah
Never fails to put on the biggest show of pain for every bite.
😳 wow this is why i read comments as good as the video
WTF
If I may ask, how did the face bite occur?
THANK YOU FOR THE DETAILS BUT WTF
Man it seems like it was trying to kill you. I can even imagine the chaotic, terrifying battle against it.

Of course he hoped they got the shot, because he sure didn’t wanna have to get bitten again lol,
I hate feet
I'm like the opposite of a foot fetishist. I have a foot phobia
Do y’all think he is stalling in the vids or just trying to educate us first?

this guy got bit hurt alot of times and hes still alive he has a strong soul
This is basically like saying "hey I was stuck in a house fire when I was little and got horrible burned, today I'm gonna go in a burning house and get burned again to move on from that fear"
*YESS EXACTLY*
This is basically saying “hey who ate my pop tarts?” And finding the person and eliminating them
Not at all
11:34 did anyone else notice the water bug taking an absolutely massive dump
Ryan Harrison now that u pointed it out yes
I SAW IT HAHA ME TOO ME TOO OMG
😂😂😂😂😂

I saw it too lol
Animal Crossing had me thinking these are harmless, the villagers just grab them from the net like nothing lol. Absolutely fearless villagers.. or.. Are the villagers based on Coyote?
bruhhh there used to be a few of them in a pond by my house when i was a child and i would hold them and pet them 😳 they were never aggressive towards me
Animal Crossing made me think these things were HUGE. I mean 4 inches is a big insect, but Animal Crossing makes it look a lot bigger.
Animal Crossing: Where the bugs are huge and the sharks are tiny
@@danielmunoz1275 They can grow to almost 5 inches (12 cm)

STORY TIME:
About four years ago, we had family over for a get-together to celebrate the 4th of July.
I responded with a frightened, "Hell no!!!" as I ran cuz I was scared 😂😂 Seeing those huge pincers still haunt me to this day!!!
yay I love stories :D
I remember seeing one of these as a child while digging in mud. I got scared feeling it for a second and it NEARLY bit me
Plot twist: that's the water bug that bit coyote when he was little
Jesus Vargas KILL IT WITH FIRE
No its not impossible
Can't be they only live for a year or longer, so the age could work, but why would it go from Ohio (Where Coyote most likely was) to Costa Rica
SelfZin Hey things travel! Those damn things fly too so can't be impossible.
Jesus Vargas lol

Ok I’ll stay up high
“They can fly”
Ok, then I’ll jump in the lake
“They can swim
Fine I’m moving somewhere else
“They are found almost anywhere in the world”
NOW HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO AVOID IT!!
Never leave the house.
minecat10904 the gamer What if they get in your house?
Guess I'll die 🤷♂️
i found one in my toilet once
Antarctica, there's your answer
Cameraman: "Did it get a good enough bite?"
Coyote: "Uh yeah, my toe is bleeding"
As if he's going to do a Take 2
Lets be honest he would
Or:
Cameraman: Did I get a good enough bite?
Petersen: Uh yeah my toe is lying across over there beside you ;-) *Smile*
Take three hahahaha
It's nice how he reminds us who he is right before a sting just in case he doesn't make it lol
thats mean
not a sting and nothing is gonna happen to him from getting a measly bite in the toe
Tactix say that to someone who’s allergic to them. And I mean FATALLY allergic.
Arlie McDowell in what universe.
Bro this guy is a legend he goes through all of this and keeps doing what he loves and we love him for that❤

He was only 8 years old when he discovered his love for pain
Wow Wee stepped on a lego
His uncle helped him find that out.
AhmadRaza_Music yes, officer, this comment right here
I'm pretty sure that experienced an existential revelation out of sheer pain.
Not to mention he always seems to ensure the test subject is always safely back in its container for later assessments before he can begin his pain process. This guy is truly a guru of nature and pain respectively
