I came across your video. Wow! My grandfather gave us a Lionel Super O, D&RG set one Christmas uring the late 1950s. He bought the set at Trainland on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, and we went back there to pick up accessories. We moved from Malverne to CT in 1965. I have been by Trainland a couple of times since then, but have not stopped in. You brought back a few nice childhood memories. Thank you.
Whoa that's a great looking engine and awesome video, and I've never heard of the railroad before so thanks for the introduction! I'm a big fan of C&O's "Flying Pump" design, looks awesome on this mammoth.
She's beautiful! My dad has the UP H7 and loves it. MoPac had a couple big articulated switch engines as well. Loved seeing the two trains run together on your different levels! - Ricky
Wow. Oh wow. RJ, that is ONE impressive piece of machinery! And in RF&P markings no less! I'll tell you, any of those H7's that make it down here to Virginia are only going to last 30 seconds on the dealers shelves! It's true that none of the H7's made it out of Potomac Yard hump service, everything on the "Relatives, Friends & Parents" HAD to MOVE and those big articulateds weren't speedsters. But of course it's YOUR 'road, YOUR rules! (I don't have any articulateds myself but only because I've got a modest 4X8 layout, an articulated's just too much engine.) You'd have to check a reference work like George Drury's "Guide To North American Steam Locomotives" for the actual numbers but as I recall without checking you're correct, there weren't too many 'roads in the Northeast that made use of articulateds. The PRR had some out in western Maryland in the Hagerstown area for hump and limited road service, the NYC had some for hump service and the same with the Reading although I think some Reading engines did make it onto the main lines on occasion. There WAS the Delaware & Hudson that made extensive use of Challenger type articulateds though. Interestingly post-WW2 the Jersey Central considered buying Challengers but went diesel instead. Anyway, it's always fun watching when you score! Thanks for posting!
Thank you very much Wayne! Yes the D&H Challenger is on my list to one day own a model of. NYC had 0-8-8-0, that might be cool to own but probably wouldn't want to put up the $$$.
@@rj.trains You're welcome RJ! You know, the D&H is a very interesting 'road in it's own right. I suspect it doesn't draw as much interest as it should because it was kind of "out there" on the periphery of things and didn't draw much attention. That being said I've got a set of Williams D&H Baldwin Sharks, the price was right and they look so cool!
One non-train-related observation: 1. Bags under your eyes? Were you so excited that you didn't sleep the night before the drive to Lynbrook? What an incredible locomotive! And all for under $100😂 Congratulations RJ!
Great video RJ. I think you have already made me regret not ordering one of these engines. It was this or my new berk for this catalog. Plus im still waiting for my rf&p f19. Also awesome that you found a picture of the real rf&p h7!
RJ, look at the freeken BEAST ..... This thing is a smokin animal .... Ill bet it weighs so much .. Ill bet it can pull a mile of trains... What a treasure you got here ..in todays market .. that price can only go up ... Thank you for what a great presentation ... LOve it
Hey RJ! I can’t believe that I wasn’t subscribed to your channel 😮 But I just took care of that now 👍🏻 Great video and thanks for doing it. Ron BTW are you going to Train Fest this weekend?
Thank you very much for subscribing! Unfortunately Train Fest is a little far from me so I will not be there this weekend. Although, I hope to get there one day
Beautiful Allegheny. Love all the Details on it. Glad to see you doing up the Layout involving WV. Looks Great so far. Not sure if you have ever watched any of our Videos where we recreated CASS WV with alot of Custom Builds. Check it out when you get a chance. We have several Videos on our Channel. Just Subscribed.
Thanks for subscribing! I love West Virginia and have my own custom Cass Scenic train. Hopefully, I can get it to feel a little more like WV as more work gets done.
10:15 love the two RF&P locomotives whistling to eachother in passing!
Thanks!

That thing is gorgeous RJ! Congratulations!! 🤩💯
Thank you!
Awesome addition! Enjoyed the history behind that monster as well!!
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! I have the last run they did of the H7's. I think these and the F19's are some of Lionel's best they have to offer.
Yes they are! I am excited for my F19 to arrive in a few weeks!
@rj.trains nice I have a couple of F19's on pre order. Hopefully they come in soon.

Yep, speaking from past experience it only takes one different kind of train to open up a new rabbit hole. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Joe! You are right, I am already looking at another, although I don't foresee a Rio Grande Big Boy in my future haha
That they're is a sexy locomotive! Love the detail. Thank you for sharing, I need to get one.
Thanks for watching!
One of Lionel’s best toolings, you are lucky to own one!
It sure is!

Let’s just say I was up late the night before, and I wish it only cost that much 😂
Awesome engine, looks great on your layout!
Thank you very much!
maybe someday I will be able to run o72 engines lol
Great video RJ. I think you have already made me regret not ordering one of these engines. It was this or my new berk for this catalog. Plus im still waiting for my rf&p f19. Also awesome that you found a picture of the real rf&p h7!
There are actually a lot of pictures of the RF&P H7 out there if you dig deep enough. I am so anxiously waiting for my F19.
Great new engine RJ..I like all the detail on the engine and it's unique whistle sound.
Thank you!
Extraordinary looking locomotive 🚂👍🏻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Grreat engine grreat whistle sound😊
Great video!
Thank you!
That thing is such overkill for its original job but damn it would have been bad ass to see! Enjoy it buddy such a beautiful model
Thank you!
An amazing loco! As a LIRR and RF&P fan we don't have much big steam to choose from! Think I may be going for the F19 in RF&P when it's released.
We might be the only two LIRR/RF&P fans out there haha
@@rj.trains Grew up on Long Island (East Islip) and now live in the Northern Neck of Va
What a beautiful steam engine
Thanks! Might be awhile before I have the heart to take it off the layout

It sounds great. When do you think the RF&P F19 will be released?
According to the Lionel website, it should be at their warehouse next week! I hope to have mine by mid-December!
I hope is the RF&P.
RF&P is the best
Beautiful train, but not the most expensive. Aka the recent big boy priced at 2,800
Key word is “MY most expensive”, I don’t own a big boy haha
Lynnbrook is a pain to get to. I am on the north shore and it takes forever
Yes it is, that is why I went first thing in the morning on a Saturday
Hey RJ, I think you were at Trainland not Trainworld?
Tomato, tomato.
@ That's what I thought
Remember, Bobby Baccala "bought it" at Trainworld!
Gigunda.....
