Great explanation. It's way easier to adjust timing on the NA with engine running. I set mine at 12° which is for me a good compromise.

Like always great information. My radiator blew and the car over heated, after putting a new radiator i noticed the water pump was leaking, so i did a water pump and timing belt. when I went to line up the marks on the timing gears the intake one was slightly off, lower then in previous timing belt jobs. After reassembly it bogs until about 4K and then it picks up really well. I thinking that I'm a tooth off.

Great video. I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with my connector...Car runs fantastic it's actually the 1.6 NB2 I've got ...I'm gonna be installing the adjustable timing wheel also. Just preying the wiring on my cam sensor is ok!😆..

One other thing. You know which way round the new adjustable timing wheel is because you just align the centre "arrow" on the new adjustable timing wheel in the same place as the Pin hole on the standard trigger wheel...

What about elongating the mounting hole on the crank sensor, or locking it in one position or another?

Hello I’m hoping you can help me with this, I got a 94 Miata that I bought for cheap it runs but it has a really boggy throttle, I checked the timing belt and it’s fine, checked the ignition timing and it’s off by like 7 degrees I go to adjust it and the car won’t let me even if I do the diagnostic thing, it just wants to die, other then that it idles just fine

Hi Al do you think it's safe to run 16 degrees advanced on 99ron uk fuel. Its a mk2.5 race car.
