Shioban (the long hair singer) ex- member of Bananarama she confesed years later that she wrote this song just thinking of the members of her ex-band. So, the message in the Lyrics were pointing straight away to Bananarama 😁😁
This was their first hit, and there is much speculation that the lyrics are directed at Siobhan's former bandmates in Bananarama (one of their hits was a version of 'Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye' - "na na na na na"). Siobhan didn't see or speak to the other two members of Bananarama for 7 years after leaving, but they eventually reconnected, and even toured together (they had never done a tour when Siobhan was part of the band between 1981-1988) in 2017.
This is their very best song in my view...I even bought this as a single long way back when it was available for purchase....quite some time ago....their one song I do enjoy I will even say...
I kinda miss these music videos where the people are on green screens, and there's random footage playing behind. These days it would only be done ironically. And that's a shame. What a great bit of nostalgia. Probably not heard it since I was a kid, but remember that chorus.
Hormonally Yours is such a perfect album. Every song is better than best. I like “Trouble with Andre”. Cat-woman from the moon. Turn your radio on. Let me entertain you. So good!
YES! This makes me happy. I bought the 7" single when it came out :) Hope you check out 'Goodbye Cruel World' (my personal favourite), 'Catwoman (From the Moon) 'and 'All the Queen's Horses' (when they reformed) by Shakespears Sister :)
If you like Shakespeare's Sister you might like Alisha's Attic. They share visual similarities but the music is totally different. I suggest "I Am I Feel' and 'Indestructable' to start
Timeless amazing song … EVERYTHING about this song is is AWESOME …. one to send to an ex lol 😂 PS My ex lied and cheated and defo made his bed …. 👌 I LOVE your reaction 😁
Many songs, even those that sounds good, well produced and wellcrafted melodies and tunes by various artists have nonsense texts, uninteresting lyrics that makes no sense and doesnt add value to the song. For me the melody, quality of the vocals and the arrangment of instruments and quality of the music production is the most important but I also appreciate a well thought of and well sounding lyrics to a song,I think here we got it in this song by Shakespears sisters. Thats why I wanted to bring this up. One group that creates brilliant lyrics in almost all their songs is my favorite group ABBA. Few even comes close lyrically also,to them. But this music tune is another example of well done lyrics, and its appreciated..
I don't care is worth checking out. Another great thing is Marcella Detroit in Popstar to Operastar. Incredible voice ruclips.net/video/SbeAv16sVCk/видео.html You should also check out Marcella Detroit on I Believe or I hate you now
The little "Queen Bee" is actually Siobhan Fahey's son, Sam. His dad is Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics who was married to Siobhan at the time.

Really??
This song is so completely bonkersly brilliant. Definitely one of my top 10 songs of all time!
I interviewed Marcella last year and she even describes her own voice as like inhaling helium XD great to see you enjoying their songs.
this is a Perfect POP Perfect marriage of Siobhan's growl and Marci's high octave vocals 30 years on still no contenders

in case you were wondering she did play the guitar for real on the song and isnt just posing
Sony even used a sample of Marcella's guitar solo in a PS1 game.
I love this song. So catchy and fun. Girl power before the Spice Girls came along and claimed it.

She's got a Louise Brooks vibe. Silent film actress from Pandora's Box.
Well said! I thought that too :)

I feel like this is Siobhan Fahey's diss track to Keren and Sarah (of Bananarama) whom she had well and truly left behind, physically and sonically.
God! I forgot how great this is.
Looks like you're a fellow shakespears sister fan now? Great video, thanks
Superb reaction to a superb song, love this track off their first album 'Sacred Heart'. Keep them coming, thank you so much for doing this one.
