Apple cider is one of my all time favorite drinks hot or cold! I may like pumpkin spice but nothing ever beats a good drink of fresh apple cider. Didnt realize the apple butter was made at the same time, perfect way to use all the product and not waste any
My mom and dad had 10 acres outside of Hoxeyville Michigan. We lived in Brighton Michigan. We’d go up on holiday weekends and for deer hunting season. On the way home we’d stop at a cider mill on the way home, and sit on the truck gate drinking ice cold cider, and eating warm apple-cinnamon sugary doughnuts. How delicious was that! Great times! My mom, dad, brother, sister, our partners, and a few (mostly mine) crouch goblins! This was from 15 to about my early 30’s. Funny how a picture can trigger something you haven’t thought about for years. I can taste the cider and doughnuts. I ate till I was gonna hurl!
I fell in love with the fresh taste after trying honey crisp apple cider. Brought 32oz of it to work not realizing it’s a natural laxative. Now it’s back on the shelves, can’t help it. It’s the drink I’ll get out of bed at 3am for...idk why it’s so addicting
@@Idontrememberasking I guess it has a lot of fiber. People usually give apple juice to babies for this reason. Don’t have too much after a big meal. 😭
@Potato Boy The bacterium that causes tetanus thrives where rust thrives because the have similar environmental demands but that doesn't mean rust causes tetanus which is a common misconception.
They only make small handmade batches. It’s right outside a large metro area and they only sell to locals. They are grown on the land surrounding the farm and they have a vineyard near it too. It’s not a large scale manufacturer, it’s a family own farm mill.
There is peeling paint and rusty equipment but the parts that contact the apples and their juice appear to be made of non-rusting or painted materials and are clean looking.
You are most definitely drinking worm juice. I've made 3+ gallons of cider myself. Definitely worm juice in it. It doesn't hurt you. Actually people used to eat a lot of grubs and things.
I have tried many apple ciders, but the ones sold at LIDL have ruined me for other brands. I forgot the brand name, but there was one with caramel flavor added and it was incredible. It's best enjoyed ice cold when placed in the freezer and allowed to start becoming slush!
Before the filling machine fills the jugs with boiling hot cider, I hope the jugs first go through a rinsing machine. Is there a possibility that the filling machine also doubles as a rinsing machine in an operation we just did not see or is there a separate filling machine all together
From other episodes of this show I have seen, on processes I know about, they omit some steps in order to fit the segment into its allotted time. So there may be a step we did not see.
@Matt Rost The heating process would kill any germs, bacteria, and worms too.... it's not like the worms end up in the bottle.... The Plant doesn't have to look pretty if the quality of the process is solid....

Did I miss something? Don't they add spices to this? I'm making five gallons as we speak. But with cinnamon and allspice and honey and real maple syrup and cloves. I was raised thinking Apple Cider tastes like Apple Pie, but in a liquid form. Still..... a cool video.
Filtration, pasteurization and regular inspections mean it doesn't matter. If you're honestly that worried about contamination, you should stop breathing this very second, let alone ever eat again. I'm not exaggerating. The world is astoundingly filthy, from the air you breath to phone you use to the money you spend, to every surface you come in contact with, to the very bodies even a second after you step out of the shower. Any insignificantly small amounts of ground up apple worms utterly pale in comparison to what you encounter on a daily basis.
Pumping the boiling hot apple cider into plastic makes the plastic leach into the cider. The cider is also partly acidic, which increases the leaching. This is really, really bad!!!
To anyone honestly worried about the cleanliness of this process or the factory it was made in - filtration, pasteurization, and regular quality inspections negate the concerns of any random matter being mixed in with the juice, be it apple worms, plant matter or whatever. They use lower quality fruit (meaning bruised, broken, animal bitten, etc) because it is going to be ground up. 'Perfect' apples are sorted with a higher level of quality in mind and go to the shelves. Sanitation requirements by the FDA, OSHA and local inspection agencies mean, regardless of any rust, tarnishing or other imperfections in machinery, the equipment used to process the cider was rigorously tested for proper functionality, and probably steam cleaned with a bleach solution the night before, and again that night. American standards for food are some of the strictest in the world, and the factory that produces this food is in America. No, it is not a perfectly sterile environment like an operating theater or a microprocessor manufacturing facility, where even the slightest bacterium or mote of dust can mean a dead patient or ruined product. If you are this concerned with cleanliness, you should stop breathing immediately, let alone ever eat anything again. I'm not exaggerating. The world is astoundingly filthy, from the air you breath to phone you use, to the money you spend, to every surface you come in contact with, to the very bodies you inhabit even a second after you step out of the shower. Any insignificantly small amounts of ground up apple worms or rusty equipment utterly pale in comparison to what you encounter on a daily basis, and I suspect you don't bathe yourself and your living quarters daily in a scalding shower of bleach water. In closing, all dirt is actually poop. Let that sink in, and try not to worry about how dirty the sink is.
Gotta pay attention to the difference between "breath" and "breathe". You made the same mistake in both your posts where you addressed people's concerns about cleanliness.
Cider contains chunks of apple (including the seeds), so its thicker. Apple juice has the chunks strained and filtered, so it is much thinner/watery. Apple juice is pasteurized to make it last longer.

@@Idontrememberasking I guess it has a lot of fiber. People usually give apple juice to babies for this reason. Don’t have too much after a big meal. 😭
I mean cider has like no fiber at all, so you'd have a much better laxative just eating raw apples. The skins are where all the fiber is at.
Pectin. It’s all about the pectin. - a type of fibre
You can eat worms......everything is cooked at high temperatures.....so a worm or two will be safe. I like that it’s just apples.
Yo they need to have a safety inspection the rust is literally 2inches from touching the apples
What’s wrong with rust? The apples get brown as well as the iron due to oxidation. I don’t mind getting some digestible iron.
