Seacliff House, built in 1750 when the Colt family held the lands, and remodelled in the 19th century by the architect David Bryce for George Sligo. The mansion was burnt out in 1907 and was not restored. The Royal Navy had a secret research establishment here during World War I. The fine beach at Seacliff is below the ruin.
How deceptive, from the front it looks like it needs new windows and from the back it looks like it needs a new house. Fabulous setting !! Thank you xoxo
Thanks Alec. I came back for another look as it came up from RUclips. Andrew and you were lucky. It is still a beautiful place. Sad that the fire took its future as a home. I imagine that a structural engineer would say it would need many millions to resurrect it for it to be liveable again. The beach and sea view was brilliant. I imagine that there would have stupendous views from the top floor windows. Those three horses were lovely too. A nice video. Edit: I don’t understand why the numpties need to graffiti the places they go to while you and your colleagues can go to these same places, have an enjoyable time but only take your videos and photos, and only leaving your footprints. Thank you.
Thank you for the beautiful views, dream like, of a timeless world. The bird singing and flying thru the ruin was perfect. You could almost smell the sea air on the beach. Aye, lovely Scotland.
Childhood holidays were spent across the water here, not far from the lighthouse that your video shows near the end, as my granny was born over there. It was paradise for three wee lads.
The opening was absolutely gorgeous!! Wow!! Beauty!! The horse is gorgeous!! What a trip!!😊 Wow, how old is that building, 400yrs old...1620? Beautiful home for the wildlife by the sounds of it. This video just keeps getting better. The beach!!! I love being and hearing the water!!
Wonderful explore Alec. Absolutely loved the beautiful view as you guys walked up and the beach shots at the end. Don't stop doing these Scottish explores
Hi Alec. I found your channel recently and watched one about an old cottage. I love this kinda stuff. This is good too but not as good as the other one. Thanks for uploading it though. I am watching them all. Emer.
The beach had low tide. Glad you guys made it up the hill. And back down the hill. Man this place I enjoyed. What a Grand Place. This Mansion was. Beautiful country. Thanks for sharing your video. You guys have a great day.
Now there's a blast from the past, used to go down there regularly as a kid in the 60s and well remeber exploring the old house, creeped the hell out of me but good to see it's (more or less) still standing !
Beautiful place! In the beginning walking up the path to house was beautiful scenery!! Great explore! I was wondering where Mark has been I haven’t seen him lately! Hope he is OK! Loved the video!
So much history went down there!! You're really awesome 👌 going through that building's ruins. It had to be really been built with whatever they used for cement!! Wow,beautiful 😍 horses. What a wonderful day to go ☺ out exploring like that right down to the waterside absolutely gorgeous 😍!!!
First time I have seen the ocean in I don't know how long? It was a beautiful house at one time & in a beautiful area. Thank you alec, I think someone boards their horses there & their cows. Looked like they were trying to make raised beds for something.
Brilliant find. Thanks for posting. I note that you've rode a few cows in your time. It could have been worse, you could have married one like I did and end up with SFA.
Another great explore, and what a bonus at the end with the beautiful beach looking on to the Bass Rock. You've probably made the tourist industry for Scotland a fortune! A wee bit of commission would be thoroughly deserved. 😎👍
This was definitely a great site to see, but the water side was breath taking! . Just a tour of the country side is fascinating to me. Ty ,tc and stay safe.
Only been here one time and you saw more then me as we was chickens and shot off as heard poeple coming so thankyou for sharing and will get back there :) x
Wow another perfect spot for a house what a view , been watching your videos for a while now and really great places you show us , do you have any history on these places or are you not into that. Any chance you will go to some WW2 bunkers and stuff, cuz my ancestry is ScottsIrish and my family served in the War so it's really cool to see Scotland with some Scots Take Care Brother and be safe out there Laddy
Thanks i know a guy who does these bunkers i'll get in touch with him and he can take me on some tours, thanks for watching, you can use google to get all the info you need on this explore just type seacliff house, scotland into google
Thankyou for showing us this Alex. I really like the look of it a lot. I will probably watch the video quite a few times. I really would like to go to this place. Which is the nearest railway station please?
Good video guys, I went there last year and got caught. A guy came with a couple of big dogs and politely asked us to leave. Did you check out the ruin at the other end of the beach while you were there?
I can only imagine how beautiful this was in the day. Where is the front entrance? Driveway? Or was it not possible to get to them. Those seavshots you took were beautiful indeed. Loved the horses. Cheers bro for another great vid. Cheers from Toronto.
The sea cliff place looks more like a palace or castle.Who lived there and what happened to them was it Royalty?how long has it been in that shape.?luv your videos.❤
I like this place. I would like to come there after lockdown. I would like to look at the ruins & go to the beach & swim. I would like to look for Seahorses but I don't think they will be there. I would like to find the secret laboratory. Maybe it is in a cave on one of the islands. It will probably be in a big cave that water runs into as they were probably experimenting with submarines.
Trespassing is not really a thing in Scotland. I believe you are free to roam so long as you don't interfere with livestock or vandalize the land. There are many peaks that a lot of people attempt to get to in a certain amount of time and this is how they are able to.
All that effort guys to find it’s a bit past it’s sell buy date , beautiful day though for going to the beach should have brought yer pieces an some bru.. Think you might have upset those few cows you’ve rode😂😂😂

I use to work as an archaeologist, worked in several states, but a site like this makes me want to drool!
I would love to have seen this in all its glory 😍
Great explore as usual, Alec. It must have been an amazing place in it's heyday. Pity they didn't have it insured when it burned bown!
Thanks man
Beautiful house and setting
Thank you Chrisaea for the information.🇺🇸😊
Good video guys, I went there last year and got caught. A guy came with a couple of big dogs and politely asked us to leave. Did you check out the ruin at the other end of the beach while you were there?
Fair enough i would of left too if he approached me with 2 big dogs lol and no we never checked that out maybe try again next time we're in the area
Now this guy is the "Real Deal"!
Lovely place, amazing staircase. Cheers, Paul
The walls must have been well built for so many to survive as well as they did.
Great vid. Cheers Alex. 👍👍
No probs thanks for watching
What a pity it burnt down. It would have been such a fine house. Such a fine position too. Amazing sea views.
I can only imagine how beautiful this was in the day. Where is the front entrance? Driveway? Or was it not possible to get to them. Those seavshots you took were beautiful indeed. Loved the horses. Cheers bro for another great vid. Cheers from Toronto.

I thought that was Bass Rock as stayed at North Berwick and could see it from there it was 50 years ago when i was little ;-)
Why did you jump the wall? The woods at the top of the hill before you went through the arch take you right there!!

Good banter and nice explore more on the way mate lol
Luckily no graffiti. A pity they leave such a fine structure to the elements.
I also want to go visit there, it's very entertaining 😁😍
Que playa hermosa
Hi ! Exploring ...👍
_❤ .
What makes you think you can trespass on other peoples property ?

It’s actually a tourist attraction, they just ask for you to respect the surrounding neighbours 🙄
