"What have we to lose from love, except what lacks foundation? Words can only carve the space we fill with expectation" Robert Hunter, Jack O'Roses 💜🌩💚
So glad you posted this. And even THIS isn’t the entire story...a few elements of the Terrapin suite weren’t recorded at all. So many questions, so much imagery. One of the greatest storytellers ever born.
I mean, sweet baby Jesus...I've been looking for more of the Terrapin Station Saga since I first fell in love with Jerry's version. I'm just plain shook right now! Literally, SHOOK, I tell ya! So many questions still left unanswered, but progress has been made. Thank you @poppa Stompa!
A hundred thousand thank you's to you for posting Hunter's version which ...I had not heard...at least not this recorded version.I was lucky enough to see Hunter play solo in between sets 1 and 2 of an "The Other Ones" show and I also saw him solo at a much smaller club which was the first time I saw him. That first time was much more intimate and personal...R.I.P. Mr. Hunter and thank you for sharing your stories with us all.🙂🎸🎶⚡🎵💀☮️❤️
I'm glad you got to see him at a small club. I think the magic of the bard and his acoustic guitar comes across much better when he is the headliner in a small venue.
@@ckahlquist2129 Ha Ha The Jack O Rose's invited us all into his imagination. Ivory wheels on a Rosewood Track are the fret markers on a guitar fingerboard . The rest you'll have to figure out.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the definitive version of Terrapin Station.

This is unbelievable, would have loved to hear the Dead play the latter two suites! Still always grateful
I was so blessed to see him live several times with JGB. This is sacred to me.
My favorite version.
R.I.P., Mr. Hunter. Thanks for all of your lyricism. And thank you Lou for uploading this!
no rush, they'll be there
Thank you, Lou! It means more than you will ever know.

Awesome, thanks for everything, love you
Wow we lost such a genius. Seems like more have crossed over than what is left. Can't wait to join them.
I tripped on bird as I was entertained by Robert at the RoseBud in Iowa City, 1980, like it was OK, hehehe. 😎

@@larrym2434 I completely agree with you...smaller setting equals much more magical!!!!!🙂⚡💀
our bard... bobbie burns, aye...
This is absolute fire. I cannot believe that The Grateful Dead never played Terrapin in it's entirety. Truly disappointing.
This is Terrapin Station in entirety
If anyone is trying to figure this out He has a Capo on the 3rd fret .
I really want to find chord tabs for Ivory Wheels/Rosewood Track
@@markt4408 use your ear you can figure it out .
I thought you were going to help me understand the story better. Lol
