Baby Season 2024, Wildlife Around A Mink Nest.

Raising young is a lot of work. Most of the wildlife activity is close to the mink burrow. Many animals visit the mink nest entrance but it's the muskrat and grey squirrel that are the most nervous when they catch her scent. The mink likely had more than one exit since I missed getting footage of her leaving with her kit(s). Birds to the area included Northern Flicker, Red-shouldered Hawk, Common Grackle, Great Blue Heron, Canada Goose, Red-winged Blackbird and perhaps a Rusty Blackbird (close to Mute Swan on nest). Five-lined skinks are up on the mainland but they also occur on the south side of the small island. At the end of the film a stag shows interest in the doe that had a fawn on the island in the summer.
