I saw Bryan Ferry at Massey Hall in Toronto in summer 2016. It was magical. I'll never forget that evening and the audience singing along with the musicians and Bryan. It was a soulful experience. I hope he can revisit Toronto in the future so I can bring my sister Dagny to his future concerts. She was the one who introduced me to Roxy songs way back in the 70's.
Fabulous night and More Than This was so special!!!! Everyone on their feet! Total respect for this man and his music. Kelvingrove amazing too even in the pouring rain!,,,,, never a disappointing night when Mr Ferry comes to Glasgow xxx
@@ferguson1518 I'm happy for you and wish I'd been there but I've reached an age where I can't do crowds, so the video is the next best thing. I loved Roxy and saw them once in the 70s and eventually moved on when I thought they'd had their day. By the time of 'Avalon' I thought they'd descended into easy listening, far too polished and sophisticated, without he previous rawness and power. How wrong can you be? I've recently come back to Ferry (Dylan, Bowie and others), via RUclips, and am so pleased that they constantly reinvent themselves and remain relevant to subsequent generations. Ferry has that working class WASP work ethic ( don't worry, Celts and Blacks have it, too, only they're usually a lot more cool and laid back about it), gathers an excellent team around him, and encourages the young: Jorja Chalmers and Oliver Thompson, in particular, but also the dancers and backing singers/percussionists. True, he's the captain of this ship but he encourages the crew to shine. True artists and musicians can never retire, only opportunists in the casino who have made their pile retire, or are retired because they're found out.
I'm surprised that they'd allow camera's at a concert. I always thought you weren't supposed to film artists at these functions but it appears that there are any number of people taking pictures and filming with their camera phones. They must have relaxed the rules a bit.
Bryans voice has run away from him these day,s a sad reflection of what he once was . Sorry to say.But true. At least the acoustics in the concert hall was great the bandstand was @@@@.
He is 73 what do you expect, he is still a great performer and people still want to see him. I love the fact that he has let age have a face, no cosmetic surgery.
@@yvonnedavey8833 Some concerts are better, I saw him in 2019 and the voice although husky(I love that) wass still there. He is a bit horse in this concert, but I love him.
Loved Bryan Ferry since I was 13 I’m now 56 and stall head over heels
With him and his music

Great Roxy Music tribute band.
We enjoyed the night, being more fans of Bryan Ferry than early Roxy. It was a great mix.

Once cell phones were invented the genie was out of the bottle, Pandora's box was opened and there was much they can do about it.
Chris Spedding still on guitar, right? who's the bass player, anyone know?
Jerry Meehan.
@@adampage8065 Also don't forget Jorja Chalmers on sax. She is amazing!

I adore and love him so much but it also makes me sad that his voice cannot be the same as it once was.
superb guitar playing - nice and with a lot of volume. But Bryan's voice is so weak and so low key and dark....don't fade away, Bryan.....
Bloody awful, a shadow of 70's roxy..... 😕
Well we enjoyed the show as did most of the audience
Voice is shot now though weak stick together and carried by backers
