I did my first barrel of Bourbon Honey that I bottled last April. I patterned everything from your first video. I'm in Northern Illinois and it has been a big hit. I lost about 15 pounds of honey that leaked out and around my plastic. My second Barrel that I started in August I refined my barrel stand and made a funnel out of aluminum and placed a 5 gallon bucket underneath, caught all honey that leaked(about 6 gallons, this barrel leaked more than the first one) and poured it back in the barrel. The honey was unbelievable. Thanks for your videos.
Hey Mike! I am glad to hear that you are having success with this! I would love to see the funnel that you made. Having you tried putting a damp towel on the barrel to decrease the leakage?
Can you continue to use the same barrel over and over? And have you had any issues with fermentation since the moisture content went up significantly? Great video thanks!
Hello! I get a new barrel every year from our local distiller. They are usually looking to get rid of them so they are happy to part with them for a couple bucks. We haven't had any issues with fermentation. I even have a bottle from our first batch and had no issues with that. Thanks for watching!
Interesting concept. About how many times can you do this before all the flavor of the Bourbon barrel is gone? I guessing each batch takes a little longer, in the barrel, at attain the same flavor. Thanks!

If I was doing a 3 Liter barrel how long would you recommend?
Do you guys still produce this? Also do you ship to Canada?
Is there any alcohol content in the honey once it is done?
I would be worried about the honey fermenting while in my customer's possession, or is this honey pasteurized?
@@jasonseaward8506 we have never had any issues with fermentation. The honey crystallizes after awhile if not kept warm enough.

@@FuzzyOne37 we use each barrel once.
How do you eliminate the alcohol from the honey after it's sat in the barrel?
How long did you say you let the honey age in the barrel for?
This was just over 3 months.
