Beautiful rendition of this lovely song. What a wonderful voice this man had. Sorry his life was cut short…just like my Mom’s, my oldest son’s, my oldest grandchild’s and my friend John Denver’s…life is just not fair to so many.
Thank you for your comment Nancy. Coincidentally, there’s a picture of Bill Swofford (Oliver) and John Denver performing on stage together in 1975. The picture is on Oliver’s Facebook page.
Remembering Oliver Swofford born on February 22, 1945. He known professionally as Oliver, was an American pop singer, best known for his 1969 song Good Morning Starshine from the musical Hair as well as Jean (the theme from the film The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie). - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_(singer)
Thanks Jeff, the wikipedia page was fully re-written by yours truly. You can find more wonderful personal information on Oliver's Facebook page. The link is on this youtube home page. There's so much more to this lovely human than wiki words can provide. I hope you have a look soon, and thank you so much for listening and commenting.
I wondered if this was really Johnny Mathis. I thought this song was too good not to have more verses. The new verse reminds me of My Island of Dreams. This is the best version of a great song.
Hi there! Actually - this song was written and recorded by Johnny Mathis - a voice Oliver truly appreciated... Oliver recorded this one with his own brand of passion. Peace!
Mum60 I love this version of the song. He has a beautiful voice. Him and Johnny Matthis, plus, Cliff Richard does a very good version of this too, are my favourite three for this song.
Oliver was so wonderful. Adored his voice. Can hear his love of song in each one he sang. So sad we lost him so young.
Such a Magnificent Song💗🌞🌹🌞💗
Just the sweetest, most pure voice ever!
