In fact, in the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, even those who escaped the direct blast died from hematopoietic disorders approximately three weeks to two months after being exposed to radiation.
Among people who did not know what an atomic bomb was, a false rumor was spread that atomic bomb disease was contagious.
Togashi probably got the idea for Netero's "inhuman trump card" from this fact.

It's cool how each royal guard have their own way to protect the King.
Youpi says: "I'm a shield, I will protect the King with my body", meaning that he concerns about King on the most basis level: his physical well being.
Pitou cries looking at the King after he asked her to heal Komugi, because she saw all his emotional development, reflecting on her emotional values. It results on her protecting what he values the most emotionally (Komugi) and all his changes as "Meruem".
Pouf dies in agony trying to prevent King to recover his memories about Komugi. He even was willing to give his own life for his "contest" with Meruem, because what he values to the most is his ideal of King, not Meruem himself. He was worried about Meruem's thoughts about Komugi and humans in general, so when Meruem forgets about everything, Pouf recovers his chances on bringing back his ideal King again. It's interesting how the conflict between his love towards Meruem and his values about the King is a good parallel to both Meruem's human and ant behaviors that Netero points out.

Hey Blanky here, never looked it that way and it was so obvious. It just shows how Togashi is amazing at giving life to these characters and their personalities.
      💯🔥

Interesting debate about the choice of the weapon : I think yes they could use a chemical weapon but the Chimera's DNA changes so fast that it would be impossible to create a chemical weapon that would target only them... even btw the ants the difference is too big, like we saw how they couldn't use Colt's blood or organs to heal the queen bc they were too different
The 'advantage' of a radioactive weapon is that the DNA is damaged and it doesn't really matter how strong you are your cells will die sooner or later
I believe Youpi died first bc he went into the fire and smoke of the explosion to find Meruem's corpse so he absorbed a lot of 'poison', Pouf was next to it so he was a little bit less affected and Meruem died last bc his body was the strongest but he was the most exposed initially so his death was 100% assured
I finally watched the TV series Chernobyl lately and it gives an idea of the damages of radioactivity...chills 💀💀
Also interesting to notice that Netero went to that area used for testing nuclear weapons and dragged Meruem underground, most likely to minimalize the effect and spreading of the bomb's poison... if I remember correctly in Nagasaki and Hiroshima's case the destruction was even bigger bc they made the bombs explode above ground in midair
Netero surely hoped that Zero hand would be enough but when that option expired the bomb was the safest plan

12:28 what a moment! the music is too much 😭😭
Someone made me realize that Welfin only knew Komugi's name bc of Pouf, when he ordered Welfin to make that phone call using Komugi's voice to manipulate Pitou WOW
How ironic that Pouf dug his own grave... but I feel really sad for him that he only understood the King when it was already too late..such a waste

I agree with you, there was no world where Meruem would be allowed to live any longer
Meruem was stronger than anyone bc he was an ant but at the end of the day this is just a detail... even if he was human, for ex if the people in power knew that someone like Netero was that powerful they will try to get rid of him too, that's probably one of the reasons why Netero always kept a low profile bc one person/country having too much power is scary and no doubt they would nuke them without a second thought if they considered them a threat
Meruem's character development was a step by step journey and his encounter with Netero and Komugi slowly changed him, but it was only in that moment when he realized that without Komugi 'something was missing', ultimate power wasn't what he actually desired, only when he felt like himself again remembering Komugi, only then did he realize that he only needed her to be happy and fulfilled....what a beautiful scene!

I'm sure little Youpi can still go Killer Rabbit/Hamster on most characters in the series.

Great reaction. Meruem found his purpose in playing gungi with Komugi, not in "ruling" because he is "too powerful" not rule.

Though its not the only reason Netero acted... its also worth pointing out that he wanted this confrontation and wanted for most of his life since developing himself to be fully tested by a supreme enemy. That also factors into why he wanted to push for a confrontation rather than conversation, just worth noting he also had his selfish side and motives mixed in. He isnt the stereotypical selfless comic book hero.... hes one who thinks humans must be pushed beyond their limits to become truly exceptional, and designed the hunter exam with that in mind, willing to let people die in the attempt to reach greatness and make for the utmost challenging and deadly endeavors for people who dont have nen yet. He also smirked while pointing the enraged Gon toward Pitou, knowing it could result in a lot of pain for him regardless, and could result in Gon killing Komugi, whom Netero had no ill will against but wasnt above gambling her life beyond getting what he wanted from Meruem.
Also most never mention this but, Netero went into this confrontation from the start with a nuke in his chest. Suppose Meruem simply attacked him in the throne room rather than doing what he did and agreeing to leave? Its not like they could know entirely how hed react when this began, though he may have had hunches... but had Meruem been less reasonable and lunged at Netero instantly, for example in that moment he walked between them when their guard was down, the 5 million outside, the entire team including Gon and Killua, Knuckle, Shoot, Zeno, ect... everyone here dies instantly, and that was a risk Netero was happy to take to secure victory in the way he wanted, rather than going in alone as a sacrificial suicide bomber or attempting to nuke them from the sky with military, he gambled for the outcome that suited his desires ultimately, so he could have the 1v1 dreamlike fight he always wanted before going out, thats imo.
