This is THE SHOW for me. When I was getting into Phish, I was getting recommendations left and right and I didn’t know where to start but someone said NYE 95. I thought it would be a great choice because it was a long show with some celebration antics in there and I believed that I would be introduced to a lot of important stuff about Phish and how they did things. More than a year later, I’ve heard nearly 250 Phish shows and this one is still the best one. The only 10/10 Phish show for me so far, closest to that would be a 9.5 for 10/31/96.
Really good place to start. That first set is one of my favorites
From someone that was there, all that lead up time during the NYE gag... nope, we had no clue what was going on. Lots of lab coats pushing buttons and levers and in the moment, we were very confused. I was confused up to and including when baby Fish showed up on the platform. Not the best gag for sure, I was there in '94 for the hotdog which was more fun... but what an insane show. To this day the PYITE opener that night is still one of my favorite moments live. That was the first time I felt the magic energy of MSG explode.
Reba, Mike's Song, and Drowned are all stellar jams. Must've been a fun night.
It was. 🙌
100% agree if you add in the Weekapaug.
Definitely in top 5 shows I attended!
Weekapaug at around 13 minutes is my favorite on this one
I WAS THERE!!! ☮️🎸🙏
Chicago and Halloween 94, some experimental tweezers/bowies and this show are turning points in the pre-groove phish for sure. Always love the Mikes, Weekapaug, Drowned and YEM from this show. The Reba is up there too.
yesssss!!!
Boooom
this was the last time axilla ii was played until 8/31/2021 shoreline, that venue being an alternate given the fires near tahoe.
my fist was PUMPIN
Ahhhhh I knew Axilla ii had a long gap but didn't realize this was the last. That was worth a mention
Omg I had that CD. I miss collecting CD and making mix cds
Is it chomper of me if this is one of my faves?
Nah I think a lot of people have it near the top if not their favorite
PUNCH. SLOTH. Definitely not Chomper material.
@@spuddougherty7860 thanks brother
Chompers are people too!!
This night everyone's worst nightmare happened to me. I got separated from the guy that had the tickets. We were driving to the train station in NJ. We lost the lead car in heavy traffic and I didn't know where the station was. Full blown disaster. Great show that I missed. 😢 Kaboom 👊
Ohhhhh that is one of the worst getting separated stories I've heard Boom
That is a heartbreak. Guardian Angels had other plans. Hugs you two ❤
Thanks Brother!!!
Boooom
That cat….. cashed.
The 1st half of the 1st set is pretty good (minus Trey flubs). Other than that it is kinda over-hyped. There are so many crazy 94 or 93 shows that i would rather listen to
I never regretted taking hiatus after Halloween 94 thru 2017. Did not need to be there because access to most live stuff is too easy ( thank you phish❤)
