Hey Trent. Thanks for doing such a great video. Your editing skills are way better than ours and the video was short sharp and informative. I think I waffle on way too much in my videos.
Yeah , He's Great ! Hope He Remembers the Little People when He Goes Big Time 😉.
Hahah! Thank you again for helping out with this!
I love the way kegland operate, to me it feels like a homebrewer set up a business to look after other homebrewers with the community at the forefront of their mind. They create a product that changes and simplifies homebrew 'operations' in ways we didnt realise we needed but always wanted and then they go one step further and blow the competition out of the water by making it compatible with what every one of us has to hand already so we can dip our toe in at a fraction of the cost without having to completely upgrade our brewhouse in one go while still reaping the benefits of creative and innovate ideas and solutions. Imagine where we'd be today if other companies in and out of home brewing had the same ethos. Cool vid as always Trent, keep 'em coming 👍
Couldn’t agree more, they got the average home brewer in mind when making this stuff
I agree. The carb caps (universal btw), the Nukataps, their fermenters, etc. They have become one of my favorite home brew companies.
I'm in the process of building my first keezer. I saw these fitting and tubing and was going to look for some reviews. Thanks for this video.
Aaaaand boom goes the dynamite! Duotight is the the ONLY way I built my kegerator! Couldn't agree more with your assessment...easy to use, simple on/off, doesn't kink in cold temps...can't think of a single con! Great video brother and welcome to the Duotight/EVABarrier revolution!! 🍻
Great video! I was out of the hobby for a year or so. My old lines were dirty so I decided to update my kegerator system to duotight - this definitely helped.
I use Duotight for literally everything anymore. It makes things SO much easier
Pro-tip: if it ever gets stuck on hose, grab an adjustable wrench, adjust it to be about the gap of the Duotight connector, and pull it towards the connector. Comes right off, just be careful not to let the connector go flying!
Awesome tip!
I built my keezer from the beginning with Duotight and I have zero complaints about them so far. Thanks Trent!
I just did my first soda. Glad I watched. Got the flow control disconnect on the way. Thanks Trent. Super helpful as always.
Oh Trent. Watching you cut the Evabarrier tubing with scissors really killed me. Those lines need to be cut clean and flush 90 degrees for them to be best suited with the Duotight fittings. Spend the $5 and grab the Duotight cutter. It will prevent leaks in the future and seal way better.
Keep up the great work!
Haha great point. That was more for demo but your right, clean cut is best!
7 taps, all nukatap, with all duotight and EVA4/8mm lines. Pourfection :D
The best part is, imho, the ability to stack 2 kegs in a tall fridge.
Love that! Yeah stacking small kegs is pretty amazing, might have to get another one
This video couldn't have dropped at a better time, I'm literally trying to figure out a solution to my same issues! Thanks for the vid Trent! This is great. I never mess with Kegland stuff, today that changes!!!
Yeah I’m stoked to be jumping into the Kegland-verse. So many cool things to play with
I just upgraded my keezer to Duotight liquid lines. I am planning to switch over the gas system too, since I have so many connection points with a secondary regulator and a line pass through at the collar. I also think my cheap vinyl lines are slowly leaking pressure since I have no visible leaks at any connections, and still loose gas pressure if I switch the bottle off and wait a week. The flexibility when cold is all worth it though.
Looks like a great system..thanks.
I did a comparison of beer lines when I first was going to switch over to Duotight/EVA.Two kegs of the same beer, one with EVA Barrier line and the other with the Bevlex 200 beer line. The first few ounces in the vinyl line always has that weird oxidized taste to it if you didn't flush out the line after going a day or more without pulling a pint. I've never had that issue with the EVA Barrier.
I use this on everything I own now. I've swapped all my gas/beer lines with this stuff. There's a larger EVA line that's 6.5mm ID (9.5MM OD) that I use as transfer lines from my carboys to kegs. You can make just about anything you might need with this stuff. Kegland is a pretty amazing company.
Nice video. I will need to keep DuoTight in mind when I get to the full kegging step.
Really Enjoyed Your Video , Thanks ! 🐯🤠
I recently updated my kegerator to the Kegland (Morebeer) Komos kegerator and switched to all Duo connections and man, what a difference it makes. Even though I cleaned my lines with each keg, I swear my beer tastes better now.
Agree, I don’t know if it was placebo but I swear I could taste and smell vinyl, especially in the foam of beers. Since switching to Duotight I don’t notice that anymore
I gave you a thumbs up just for having the name Beer-lord.
Almost every single piece of brewing equipment I have is from Kegland. I brew in a Brewzilla, I ferment in a Fermzilla, I use blowties to pressure ferment, all my kegs are Kegland kegs, my taps are nukatap and the list goes on. They are good products at a great price point and they allow for a lot of customization for almost all products.
A few months ago I also got tired of lines in my keezer. I was, and am still, using EVABarrier so my lines were about 1,2m (ca. 4 ft.). I replaced all of my disconnects with flow control disconnects and shortened my lines down to about 40cm (1.3 ft.). On top of that I added in-line regulators to each gas line. So now I have a very simple and easy way to adjust the pressure into each keg, thereby controlling carbonation, and drop that pressure without adjusting my line lengths at all.
Great video !! Cheers 🍻
I may have to get some of those. I'm converting my pin lock keg to ball lock and I'm in need of some new tubing, so maybe I'll do the FFL and some of that tube. I have a converted full fridge as my kegerator. Space isn't an issue, but these things remind me of Shark Bite fittings for plumbing and I like those things.
Awesome video and information. I love the ease and quality of the NukTaps! I’m half way into the Duotight switch over in my kegerator&keezers. Your video makes me wanna start ordering those ball lock QD’s but now I’m curious about this Gen2 hmmm.
Yeah he didn’t give me any more details, major tease! But you can’t go wrong with gen1
It's crazy how much better your videos are then theirs.
Great Video As Usual Trent!!
I bought a new Komos V2 kegerator last year and did the upgrade to all Duo tight, so much easier to set up. And I really like the thinner beer/co2 lines. Duotight is basically mini Shark-Bite fittings. ❤️🍺
I would recommend just going with the Duotight QD if you are changing. The cost of a standard QD and an adapter to fit the line is pretty close to the cost of a Duotight QD. And one extra connection means one extra point to leak.
100%! Less parts is always a plus
Looks nice and clean Trent! I need to make the conversion myself as well, the only problem is every time I try to get stuff seems like they’re out. Oh well, I’ll just keep trying, cheers!
They mentioned more beer has their stuff so check there maybe. Hope you can find some!
Love the video Trent! I love my DuoTight system and Nukataps!
Kegland makes WONDERFUL products. Their Carbonator Keg Reactor Lid is worth its weight in gold.
I have the 5 mm ID lines and also have the duo tight joiners. This way if I have a beer with standard carbonation (2-2.5 volumes) I just use a 12 foot line. For higher carbed beers like Belgians, saison etc (3 volumes), I just extend the line to 18 feet. Super easy.
Oxebar 2.2 gal plastic kegs. I use them for soda for my kids in my keezer. With a 9 cf it makes it so I can have up to 10 taps if I wanted. 4 regular corny kegs and 6 oxebar. Also the price is great.
Love the intro 😂
Great video. My only gripe with Duotight fittings is they get brittle and break when exposed to starsan. Really hoping Kegland changes the plastic composition or better yet replaces it with stainless steel construction.
I wish I would have bought duotight shanks when I bought my tower. Super hard to connect 4mm duotight hose to a regular shank but I got there in the end.
Haha as long as it stays tight I think you’ll be ok
lol same boat! A little hot water, a lot of slow pushing and a lot of swearing when your hand slips trying to push it in, it'll get onto a regular shank eventually 😁
I heard you talking about Duotight fittings and hoses on your live last night and I need to look into these! 🍻
I really enjoy the ease of use and customization. Definitely give them a go!
On the flow control disconnect to the picnic tap, you say that will help with overly foamy pours? When I lug a keg to an event, I always have issues with overly foamy serving pours from my picnic tap because the environment is always warmer than my kegerator.
Yeah it helps slow the pour down so it might take longer to pour but should be less foamy
I thought about going this way but I was really afraid of leaks. We used a “shark bite” fitting system in our Reveres Osmosis system and we constantly had leaks.
Have you had any trouble with this?
As a plumber I can tell you sharkbites are garbage. When using sharkbites it's a matter of when they'll fail, not if.
@@nohandles406 As another plumber, I can second that statement...
Haven’t had any leaking at all so far. Even when you bend the tube a lot it holds in there great
@@TheBruSho to be fair, it's probably fine given this application. Keg lines are less than 15 psi. Your average home water pressure is around 60+ psi, so my disdain for shark bites doesn't necessarily apply here. But as far as a professional, using them for home water line repairs, I stand by my statement!
Just did this myself! Duotight has been calling my name for a long time and I am happy I made that change
Yeah was calling me for a long while too! Haha
I'm putting off making the jump to kegging for as long as possible, but this makes it look so easy!
It’s honestly easier than bottling. Makes the hobby so much more enjoyable!
Once you make the switch you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner. It’s so much easier, less time and enjoyable.
I've never bottled, went straight to kegging because it made sense. Go on and bake the switch, you'll save time and start drinking your product sooner
I’m making a mini keg setup with duotight fittings. Maybe I can make a pressure gauge and valve to release the pressure for pressure fermenting with the fittings?
For sure! Duotight sells a mini pressure regulator, and since this is very much like legos you can make a small pressure relief system easily!
oh yeah? I see one from KegLand which makes duo tight so I might get that one.
@@TheBruSho
My problem to keep my beer stuff organized and in use and not searching for stuff constantly. This prevents me to make beer because the issue of finding what I need makes the mood of why to i bother... I should sell all😢. I had a bare bones setup and was happy so I know what to do. Chears!
Looks like you were able to convert one of the travel kegs to be compatible with ball lock fittings. How'd you do that?
It’s just an alternate lid for the craft master growler. Super handy
I can't seem to find how to get Kegland products in the Midwest (Oklahoma/Texas); no shops seem to carry them. That sucks.
Check out More Beer, they carry a lot of kegland stuff here in the US.
Do you have to have the lines the same length as what you had before to maintain same carbonation levels? Did you adjust how much co2 to use?
Line length depends on the pressure you're serving and the line resistance. So in my case I had same pressure but the EVA barrier had more resistance so I could shorten the lines. And use a pressure regulator to adjust the co2 level.
Man that was me last night. I have 6 taps in mt keezer with 10 foot lines. It gets really messy. Since I dint have a fan in mine, I tend to dangle all lines towards the bottom where it's colder. It would be nice if you could get Kegland to have us send you our keezer photos for a "keezer make over" contest 😉. Where we could have a change to win and convert to duotight liquid and gas.😉. Just saying.. cheers from Phoenix, AZ 💯🍻🍺
Oh wow that’s an amazing idea!
Oh my goodness, that opening sequence. I don’t think I’ll ever look at my kegerator the same way again.
Love duotight. Anyone have any ideas on how to apply this solution to my barbed shanks?
Yeast and the beast said he just shoved it on hahah
It would be nice if they could start to do pin lock fittings as well..
That would be cool!
@@TheBruSho the liquid post regulator is such a cool product!
I would just recommend the check valve on all the gas lines. Suck back through gas lines and a ruined regulator is no bueno
Great call out! Thanks Goose!
Great video Trent, but oh man! Cutting the evabarrier with scissors? No no no! Look at that uneven mess. Get a proper tube cutter please!
Thanks for the tip!
I'm actually shocked to hear people use vinyl tubing, guess it's an American thing. I'm constantly impressed with kegland. Have them send you a gen 4 brewzilla, they're great
I only have 3 taps...
Mini kegs are not worth the price, let alone the kegerators! You can get the individual beers way cheaper and the kegerators are insanely expensive!
Mini Kegs are worth the Price , just to show up at THE PARTY DUDE , WITH ONE 🥳💥🤯🎉🎊👍 👌🌠🥂 . 🐯🤠
I guess you did not like my comment. Just thought you and others might like to know to fix it without dropping a lot of money. Cankeg explains how you can fix that for pennies
Sorry didn’t see your other one. Might have gotten blocked for some reason. But always open to other ideas!
Hey sorry. I saw the message, I replied to it because of a typo then came back and it was gone.
Wait, you pull on the lines in front of the kegs for the old setup then push it behind the kegs for the new setup?
Really?
That's just a smidgen disingenuous.
Looks Better Tho , 😂.
I mean goal was to make it look as good as possible
@@TigerPat_9180 Of course it does. It was purposely done to be that way.
Hence me saying it's disingenuous.
@@TheBruSho What you show isn't reality.
I understand, you live in Cali, sometimes seeing the actual difference is way more important.
Awesome video my friend, Nice to see you working with kegland. One of the top two home brewing manufacturers on the planet in my opinion....... So when is the BrewZilla coming 🫣😉🍻
Hahah! I know right might have to try it out
I have one. They work great for flow control but they use a smaller line so you have to change all your lines and pretty sure kegland doesn't sell in the U.S. except via morebeer. If they had a storefront in the U.S. I'd bee 100% on board. Kegland really does have great stuff if they were more accessible.
The background music is giving me NewToHomebrewTom vibes.
