- Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with Logic for his last interview in his LA home studio and for an exclusive in-depth to break down Logic's new album No Pressure. This is episode 5, where Logic breaks down lyrics and stories for songs from his album No Pressure including: "Aquarius III", "Soul Food ii", "Perfect", "Heard Em Say", "Amen" and "Obediently Yours". Logic also talks about NO ID giving him the mic that Jay Z used to record 4:44, which Logic jokingly says he is going to use to clone Jay so he can finally get a verse from him. Reminiscing on his demo, Logic says he sounded like Biggie Smalls. Logic goes on to say that you can't judge an album by a first time listen because he hated Kendrick Lamar's "good kid m.A.A.d city" when he first heard it but then grew to love it. Logic freestyles to prove a point that free-styling is supposed to be off the top of your head but since everyone comes with writtens he says the art form of freestyle is lost. Logic goes on to say no one actually freestyles because they are afraid it wont be great. There is much more on this episode including Logic talking about racism and the inspiration to use Orson Welles speech from 70 years ago.
Make sure you subscribe to be notified when episode 6 drops featuring Logic breaking down how he makes beats!

Who could've guessed that logic naming an imaginary spaceship "aquarius III" back in 2015, would predict his son in 2020. That's crazy to me
Signs from the Universe.
He is fulfilling the prophecy

Logic's lyrics are literally tarot cards lol!!

I just want to sip some coffee with Logic ☕️ while we are eating some bagels 🥯

@@xavierdominguez6203 it really happened.. I stopped eating bagels after that.
That’s kinda sus
He said his freestyle wasn’t crazy, but the fact that he kept a concept going like he was having a normal conversation while rhyming in rhythm was actually pretty nuts! Super enjoyable to watch

Ive watched every logic interview online lol but i can honestly say i've always looked forward to yours. Appreciate all the interviews you have done with logic and 6ix, these interviews allow the fans to make those deep connections.

I need that book. It's such an artistic way to let people like me into his process.
Same I hope there's a book for every project tbh
Damn. In Metropolis he said he wanted to be 40 and still killin' it and now he is 30 and retiring. It sucks a LEGIT rapper is quitting at this age. I honestly thought he coulda pulled off the Metropolis and show us that not only the OGs in their 40s or 50s are the ones that are still gonna be rapping at that age or even beyond that 🥺💔
It really disappointed me that he late that lil bit of weak ass hate overshadow all the love he gets from fans and sold out shows... Honestly part of me feels like he's doing this on purpose and will come back to the game just to boost ratings even though in my opinion he doesn't need it. If he's dead serious though he should thicken his skin like he raps about himself before returning.
@@shamanlotus938 He's doing it for his son. He wants to be there for his son and his wife. I can almost guarantee that was the turning point for him to retire.
@@kyle8575 I sure hope so would make more sense. Even though he said he's gonna keep doing shows and that he's upset about the hate he gets. Never have I heard him mention family but I also didn't watch the full vent because it was too... Eh...
Hes not quitting rap hes leaving the game if you watch his stream he still kills it lol
Logic deserves this retirement
No bro, he doesn't, the only reason he's retiring is because of all the hate, the shit he don't deserve is all the hate he recieves

Carl Xidjie Docallos ffs
@@carldocallos9749 I kind of get what you are saying, but I don't fully agree. I think that if we didn't live in a digital age, logic wouldn't be retired, but he was always gonna be a family man, and the amount of music released would have been reduced drastically
We can honestly say Nick Huff gets the authentic Logic interviews compared from all the others. Shoutout to you Nick Huff!
Yeah
“Ya welcome” Lmfao
When he said “alright I’m done”I smiled and teared up a little .😪

“Evil politicians, People on Twitter bitchin, hashtagin but in real life they never pitch in” got me messed up bro 🔥🔥
He talked about that in Killing Spree. And people REALLY thought that album was just about Bobby talkin' about being Biracial 😒
you’re beautiful emma!
R.A.P.T.U.R.E bro, I’m saying! People didn’t listen to Everybody!
I mean he mentioned being biracial way too much.
Tracks whose message is mostly I'm biracial:
Take it back, everybody, africariyan, black Spiderman. The whole album was supposed to be literally about everybody but most of it was about logic.
Everybody barely stuck to its concept, had so many chopped up vocals, those stupid speeches which he should've rapped (because he's a fucking rapper not a spoken word poet or some shit), way too long songs (africariyan should've only been three verses, take it back was 2 minutes of a song and then 4 minutes if a speech, hallelujah is also super long for no reason).
Everybody is logic trying to make a tpab (long tracks, a racial theme, poetry inspired outros) , and failing miserably.
A good way of making an album with racial themes which doesn't copy tpab is all amerikkan badass.
@@nadavya2612 He legit talked about other perspectives in Black Spiderman you clearly only want to point out the Biracial part. Take It Back yes he did talk about that and could've RAPPED IT cuz yes he wasted the HARDEST beat of his career, AfricAryaN yeah 12 minutes was a bit too much and that Cole verse was the most terrible thing anybody could do within an ALBUM. To put a fucking cellphone voice recording lmao. Everybody the title track yeah it was about that but he KILLED those verses though da fuq? Hallelujah was a fuckin vibe Idk what you are talkin bout I get hype when that shit come on in my shuffle 😂👌🏼🔥 But seriously if we talk about FULL songs where talked about being biracial its only 3. The rest are about different topics and people. Most people don't even know that Mos Definitely is in the perspective of Damian Lemar Hudson thats how much you REALLY know muthafucks didn't really listen to that album 👌🏼 The album's projection and delivery yes could've been a bit better but it is still an enjoyable album I can play it front to back but it definitely lost replay value once his future projects came out and from revisiting his mixtapes instead of bitching about wanting the old Bobby back 🤷🏻♂️💯
Love hard knock and logic 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Listen to Killing Spree and Heard Em Say. Logic’s been preaching the fake hashtag shit for a while. But damn Nick lucky as hell to sit down with Bobby for hours talking about this album and getting so much unfiltered insight into the mind of Logic.
He's a genius and the haters will never see it. Its crazy. I really don't see how they hate.
PuRe GhOsTT Facts, like are they being ignorant and avoiding the real things he’s talking about or do they have their heads so far up their ass that they can call Logic a whack rapper?????? Gtfo! Sorry bruh, had to vent real quick. Like in “Jimmy Smith Rap”- “All that other bullshit is here today and gone tomorrow”
Killing spree is such a bad track tho, he just runs out of things to say after like 10 bars, and then just starts to repeat lines, and then it's just the hook twice with a bridge in the middle. He's basically almost said nothing.
I love logic but in his everybody, bt2 and coadm projects he was so fucking lazy.
nadavya 261 We can agree to disagree but I believe that Everybody, BT2, and COADM were decent productions. If you follow Logic through time and take what’s going on in his life into account, you can see the purpose of creating each album. Everybody came after Logic finally felt like he could use his platform to address real world problems but received backlash since it’s not at all mainstream. BT2 was actually just him having fun with sampling, features, experimenting with new sounds, and feeling the pressure from the reception of Everybody. COADM was similar to Everybody in where he’s trying to use his platform to create awareness and change. Production on this album was 🔥 whereas the lyrics did lack the depth Logic was known for.
@@alimmomin15 having fun isn't an excuse to how much his lyrics were simple and lazy on bt2 and confessions, since he did the same for bt1, and while he isn't a lyrical genius on that tape, he has good punchlines and non repetitive lyrics for more than 3-4 tracks.
FINALLY!!!!! Felt like a month wait for the next part
Heard Em Say is probably one of my favourites on the album cuz you can really hear the emotion in Bobbys voice when he talks about how Bobby boy ain’t a kid no more😭😭i genuinely wouldn’t have minded having that track be the last song of the album tbh
BRO SAME. when he says he aint a kid no more it gets me all teared up😭
I want to talk with logic for a whole day
"Water under the bridge let's me a song" 😂
He's so tight lipped about things he wants to say, he's seriously watching what he's saying
Man im gonna miss these interviews. I hope you interview his other work that could be cool
It’s comforting to know even Logic feels insecure and questions his worth. We’re all searching for self-love, inner peace, and happiness.
I love Logic. What a legend. I don’t understand the hate. I hope he has a nice retirement. Builds a beautiful life with his new family and makes some more creative stuff in the future. He’s inspiring. Real ones know this. Here I am people. Now tear me apart :) PLP
Damn, just when I thought there were no more episodes... 🙏🏼🔥
Goddamn we got a part 6 coming. I’m all for it 👌🏾👌🏾
love what he mentions about having to sit with an album... we live in a time where people who react to music on youtube for a LIVING won't even FINISH an album before giving their opinion... music, REAL music, deserves more than that. I didn't even fully understand how I felt about No Pressure until I listened to it for a week, and then got what it was... people need to learn the discipline of patience when it comes to voicing their opinions
I won’t lie, the night the album dropped I was in my room sobbing but constantly having to remind myself “he’s not dead!” “He’ll still be around” “he’s not gone gone” but at the same time it feels like that, because for most if not all of us bobby has been there for us at times people haven’t and has given us the courage and confidence to deal and battle with life. And brings a smile to our face and “no pressure” being the last and final album is heartbreaking but knowing that bobby is happy and has what he wants in life, and finally appreciates his self. Just makes it all worth it❤️
Best interview series for sure
That freestyle was amazing, loved the whole interview once again
That just made Aquarius 3 even better😂
smokin weed in gazebos had the same distortion when he said it in the interview and the way he said it in the demo. thats amazing.

Heard Em Say is easily one of my top 5 favorite Logic songs of all time. That shit makes me feel some type of way
Thank you for your contributions to hip hop !!!!!! 💯
Thank you Nick and Bobby :)
So much respect for this dude. Doesnt get much more humble!
I wish all artist went through and went in detail about little things in their projects like this interview did. It makes me respect the album way more knowing the thought process behind stuff. Just hearing little clever things I would’ve never picked up on my own is just fun to me.
Even though he's retired now I still hope he makes music here and there.
9:10 . I’m hypedddd!!
Respect Bobby. Great interview.
Hard knock and logic are always fun to watch
“Water under the bridge let’s make a song” what a fucking great human being.
For me, it’s crazy when you look at the line “follow me like religion on this course of collision.” It wasn’t but a couple years back when I came across logic’s music during a summer and now it’s finally concluding. Like he said in an earlier interview that he gives those a voice who are looking for the right words to say but can’t, I found myself in that exact place. Your time has been deeply appreciated; RattPack for life!
This interview is magnificent.
We love you logic
That song Heard em Say gives me chills
Great point on freestyles!
Thank you for your time Bobby, we hope you enjoyed the interview... Iykyk

Good interview man. I couldn’t watch it all, but thankful for the small novel in the description section 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 No one actually really freestyles pretty much. I believe he’s right. There’s a dude named “Harry Mack” though who has been free styling online and putting out some good stuff. He’s tight. No cap neither.
There is a part 6? Holy i love this lil series going on
1:27 That shit blew my mind
Logic is legendary! Would be amazing seeing you on the big screen one day! Love you Bobby salute

“These guys making it to paradise and talking about the order of the ultra 85” - haha yeah that was dope *wait what?*
That comment made me double take as well.
What is that supposed to mean though???
6:51 bobby looks back (probably at his manager or sum), and I THINK they told him to shut up cuz he was saying too much (potentially about his next album. But I think this, so it’s not for sure
Think about it doe, he was giving specifics;Aliens guns, etc
I wonder what ultra 85 means in the context of the story. Not "oh it was a scrapped mixtape" but like, what is it? A spaceship, a group of people? The order of the ultra 85...
i love this guy
Hey Logic, that song you made is beautiful my brother. You are a beautiful soul and much love from my family to yours.
hearing tht bit about Aquarious III was like meta lvl inception hahah
This last part was fucking nuts! And that freestyle tho! Legendary!

7:17 Damn, just realized Logic retired without doing a song with Jay. Didn’t he shoutout him out on The Return?
Yes to hop on the track.
I mean I think logic will still feature on other people's albums so there's still a chance!
He got a song with Em though
Yeah. Jay Z sold out lol he should've done a track with him
I could feel the love from that hug man

Love my man logic
About the freestyle.. My mind was blown how easily logic can just go on and on

So much respect to both of you, "It doesnt even matter", aint that the fuckin sad truth. Be well men
Dude, if you only knew... best wish dude. Great interview 👍
Actual Literal Free-styling Is So Difficult To Do Well and Imperfect For Most People. So anytime Someone is Super Clean it’s Probably at Least Partially Memorized or Written.
So Just Enjoy It People. Be Aware That To Be Great At Anything Takes Relentless Trial And Error. Lots of Gifted People But No Magic.
No always true. People who do it for attention are lying about freestyling like 90% of the time.
I absolutely loves this interview, really letting Logic speak about each track and also the story on his life. I’ll always be a RattPack soldier. He’s so right when he says that you’ve gotta sit on an album and listen multiple times before you give an opinion. Imo you are on Kanye’s level. Long Live Logic🙏🏾
Can't believe Logic isn't going to be making any more albums. That's crazy.
🔥 bro wow
masterful
Oh I'm buying that rhyme book
I'm basically watching this without hearing any logic songs besides the one he did with Em and Wu.
I personally recommend starting with Undeniable, it's an amazing mixtape imo and you can see his growth if you go up in his discography from there 👍
tbh u could skip anything from 2017-2019, just listen to undeniable, WTF, UP, TITS, and NP. Maybe listen to BT 1 & 2 if u like trap/turn up music
CoaDM and Everybody (to an extent) is for the mainstream. People listening to this interview wouldn't like it as much. The others though, are for the core fans.
I love every Logic album/mixtape, even though the ones that are considered like mainstream. I don’t like every song on Everybody cause he sings a lot and that’s not what I like the most musically but other are great
It's not worth the listen. Honestly. Stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to.
You guys should add some timestamps in description. Would be so helpful
the words he says have so much meaning
I hope there will be a deluxe? Because that leak got a song called Griptape and wow that would fit so good on the album. Much love to Bobby
Nah I think that's it.

There isn’t a deluxe sadly, he said it
Where can i find the leaks
