Why? It is famous for that. When I was in Japan few years ago I did visit great brothels(it's usually registered as hostel or motel) where prostitutes were just housewife's living in close proximity. It's service unlike anything in any other country. You go to brothel, you pick room to suit your kink (great choice)and the rooms are super nicely done. In my experience living in Japan 90% of people are adamantly against cheating but the remaining 10% speak the loudest and create the most rumours.

Well realistically I get it. There are various definitions of "fuzoku," and the person in this interview probably imagined a cabaret club where everyone drinks alcohol and has fun. 3 Another definition of "fuzoku" is delivery health services and pink salons, but there are quite a few Japanese men who use these services, so they're not that rare. 4 There are also a certain number of women who don't want to be seen as jealous women, so some women pretend to be tolerant of them. 5 Prostitution is not that uncommon in East Asia, and you'll see those stores in cities in Korea and China as well. It boggles my mind how people forget we are animals. The vast majority of animals do not practice monogamy. It’s not natural. One thing that people don’t understand because of today’s weird sex culture is that sex is (or should be) a very intimate and beautiful thing. It shouldn’t be so shallow. No. Sex-Workers pay more attention to their personal health and safety. Hygiene is paramount and when I worked legally, all clients have STD checks under a bright light prior to sexuality contact (and a shower, obviously) Sex-Workers have regular blood tests, use Condoms, etc.... Random girls on a night out are not nearly as clean as Nd safe as a sex worker!

First of all, he translates "風俗" as "prostitution," but "風俗" also includes strip bars, host clubs, etc. So it is always not necessarily a physical relationship. So the "prostitution" in this video is likely not what Westerners think it is.And this video was taken in downtown Tokyo. If you interview a woman walking downtown at night, you will often get a different opinion from the average Japanese. In other words, their opinions are not representative of the Japanese people as a whole. I just asked my Japanese girlfriend the same question and she said, "no way!”
