Concentrated fruit drinks are in the frozen isle of the US super markets and they are everywhere. Most popular flavors are Grape and Apple. They come in a round frozen tube.
I travel a lot and I use this to warm pre-made food from the supermarket to save money. In about half an hour food is good to eat, but not boiling hot. BTW you can press the center of that rubber on top and it opens for the steam to come out trough the small holes.
As a truck driver here in the US, I have a triumvirate of tools to keep me fed. I have no need for fast food, unhealthy foods, and on weight watchers I have lost 100 pounds.
Giving up fast food and unhealthy food for me was really not that much of an issue…Oreo’s on the other hand, that was tough! The problem I have is that because I plan and prepare my own meals ahead, my public interaction is way down. Driving for a living is very isolating.
I'll stick to putting hot stew, soup or chili in an insulated Thermos/flask. You can even put boiling water in it to cook up hotdogs on the go or keep tea or coffee hot. I guess I am old school. Ya know I have a vintage Aladdin container that keeps a serving of ice cream cold for about 6 hours.
@@PsychGirlRaven You have to remember that the internal temperature must reach 70C and be kept there for 20 min. That's doable if you have a dish with a high water content, f.ex. soup. A drier dish will be more difficult to heat up properly.

I actually got a version of this as a gift and I really love it especially for thin meat that could go tough in the microwave. The steaming feature keeps the meat tender and it gets pretty hot! I usually let it run for an hour and have great results.
Thank you so much, I am going to use mine for the first time on Tuesday when I return to work. I am looking at product reviews in order to make sure I am using it right.
Growing up in Sweden it was a proper treat in the winter when you got hot blueberry soup, which is just a tiny bit thicker than what you got from the IKEA, served together with what Wikipedia calls rusk in English. In Swedish it's "blåbärssoppa med skorpa".
My husband is a truck driver and has a lunch box oven. Works amazing to either warm or cook in. Hot enough to cook a roast in if you want. He just picks up some cheep foil pans from the dollar store so he can cook without the mess of cleaning up ( hard to do on the road) Lol
I went without chef Mike for a year during college, only to find these thermal isolated lunch boxes at my parents'. Its basically the same thing they make waterbottles with, but shaped like wider, shorter cylinders. It's particularly convenient for soups and Asian food like rice and curry, etc.
Great video. Highly entertaining. This has confirmed that I cannot warm food during a 30 minute commute unless I get stuck in a 2 hour jam. Thanks for sharing.
I have a crock-pot lunch mate. Pretty much the same things as this and it was a life saver this year. My office was "essential" and I used it to have hot lunch while avoiding the public microwaves all year!
We do have concentrated drinks in America (that isn't powdered mix), but they're usually frozen. The most popular syrup was Za-Rex from Massachusetts which stopped production a few years ago after 100 years, but seems to be coming back to market soon! Used to love that stuff when I was a kid because we didn't need a whole pitcher to make it, just a few spoonfuls in a glass of water.
I love my electric lunchbox for work. I don't transport my food in it though. It stays at my workplace and I just use my normal Tupperware things for getting my lunch to work. It's just lighter.
Pretty sure others have pointed it out, but you do not have to take the steam vent cover off. You can press the center and it should flip up and release the steam (because it can flip up and down) After you're done venting the steam, simply press the sides and it should close it back.
I have one of those electric lunchboxes which I take to work whenever I want homemade lunch since we don't have a microwave there, just a cafeteria where you can buy food. I used it for more than a year and it's pretty good. Also, regarding the steam vent thing, you don't have to remove it. You can just press it down to open it and release the steam 😊
@@annwhite67 I put it in the refrigerator a few times and it was fine. But if you get or got one, check on the box or the instructions if you can or cannot. Maybe it's different for each type. Better to be safe :)

How long was that soup in your fridge before taking it out? If it was in there for a long time you might want to double check your temperature settings on the fridge. Cold storage for food should be below 4C, and if your fridge is only keeping things as cold as 10C that's not good
I got one of these for the lady. She gets a ready meal set up at home and she rigs it up to a smart switch so that she can estimate what time she's likely to get back from work so she can have a hot meal as soon as she gets in.

I was thinking that throughout the video. It wouldn't have fell out all over the place either.
look for a microwave called "wavebox" you can use that in the car too many truck drivers have em, small compact and easy to use with a carry handle...
A lot of trucks have an inbuilt microwave fixed in the sleeping pod in the back
