I owned and loved the pro ject x10 which was already great and upgraded to the signature 10 a couple years ago. No matter what the price point (they have turntables for 200,- as well) always most bang for buck with their products. High end without the high end price tag. I even consider my signature 10 cheap in comparison.
I prefer the ergonomic layout of Pro-Ject turntables including the on/off switch location to other high end turntables I’ve owned. The whole package comes together so nicely… this new X8 is on my “what’s next” radar! Thanks for a great review!

I have been using the Pro-Ject 6 PerspeX magnetic suspension turntable for a few years and it still performs as new. A great improvement i made was to replace the existing Tonearm with a Hadcock GH242 uni-pivot tonearm. I was able to do this because of the stiff suspension that the magnets create.
A question about your video equipment if I may. Do you use a DSLR with teleprompter? Do you like it and what brand/model is it? I need one for my channel.

I’m not familiar with many different turntables, but my initial thoughts were some of the design decisions matched the Fluance RT85. The tripod feet, speed selector control and location, and dust cover cutout and plastic material made me think they were different models from the same company.
Hi Chris great review as always. The Pro-ject family of companies do make some very nice hardware. I think my M3X phonostage is under thier umbrella. Any ways maybe I missed something you said, I wonder what thier reason is for supplying different cartridges to different regions.

I have to tell you, I’m super impressed with the system I’ve built solely off of your recommendations on this channel. Pro-Ject debut carbon evo, ifi Zen preamp, IotaVX SA3 amp, and Q Acoustic 3050i floor speakers. Nice! question though… As I start looking for upgrades in the coming months what might be a nice accompaniment in speakers and/or an additional amp? With the system I have going do ya think the IotaVx PA3 might bring greater fidelity to sounds? Or maybe additional speakers? I’m not looking for louder I’m looking for subtlety and clearer/richer tones. You’ve never given a bum steer! Big big ups!
You have a pretty good setup on your hands, that's for sure. To move up, you'll probably need to look at a new cart. The amp and speakers will hold you for a while, as will the phono stage.
Good day. I enjoy your videos very much. Here I have a general question about AZIMUTH setting of the tone arm. IS it definitely necessary for the tone arm to have this capability for azimuth adjustment ? Can a tone arm be designed in such a way that after accurate installation of the cartridge, the azimuth is automatically correct so that the user never had to worry about this issue ? As far as I know, all REGA tone arms have no such adjustment. Then what do you say about their tone arms ?? Please give me some of your professional thought. Thank You.

In a year or so i´ll be in the market for a $2K TT and for some time i´ve had my eyes firmly fixed on Projects 2experience SB S-shape and MusicHall MMF 7.3.. It has not. I still have the unit, however, so it will be happening at some point. Hopefully soon. I'm just trying to make my way through my review backlog.
May as well be a curling stone (I would like to see that, curling with Pro-ject TT's). If i am going to invest more than 2k in a TT I would insist on an interchangeable headshell. I might drive to see one but the drive from Alaska would cost more than the TT. (Anyone wana finance me in an TT/audio store in in Anchorage?)
As a Canadian, I can only hope that there will be an option of buying this WITHOUT a cartridge, up here in my neck of the woods. I also wish Pro-Ject would brand their tables, An X8 logo at the bottom right (not unlike Rega's logos) would look really sharp. I find that Pro-Ject's minimalist tables look a little too much like something you would buy off a truck in the Eastern Bloc during the 70's. Having said that though, I will definitely look into this table once it comes to Canada. And then I'd find a place to silkscreen/print a logo for me...
i´m still using the turntables i have from the 70´s ,this because they sound better to me ,i already bought at least 3 turntables after 1980 but ended up selling them, the best i had either than the SL-1000mkII from technics was a thorens that i bought an expensive cartridge that made the turntable sound even better but in the 90´s a friend ofered me a lot of money to buy it ,that i couldn´t say no, now i´m using a turntable that all say that it´s not good but i compare it with new models from technics and compare some specifications and they seem the same but for some reason they(my friends and also on coment section of diferent sites) say it´s not good but i don´t mind i like the sound ,have also two other turntables from pioneer ,a 74 and a 79 ,all have good cartridges and i change from one to another and i´m happy with them but sometimes i think about buying a new one but prices are so high that the ones i can aford are just ridiculous and people talk good about them, but when looking to the technics turntables released in the last years they are the same as my other two 70´s turntables then i hear everybody talking about upgrading cartridge and stylus like they were buying new shoes and think ,why one that has a perfect sounding turntable will spend more than a 1000€ to buy another cartridge and stylus ,one thing i notice the phono stage in all new amplifiers are very bad while in any receiver or amplifier of the 70´s even the cheaper ones had incredible good phono stages, this explains why all are getting new improved cartridges and stylus hoping they will improve the sound. a friend of mine wants to buy the 2m black cartridge and stylus from ortofon, i found it expensive and he already has the second one after what came with the turntable a OM 10 then he bought a sumiko pearl that it´s cheap but sounds good ,i never saw so many people from diferent countries wanting to buy new cartridges and stylus . As an example i can say that in 93 i bought a sony integrated amplifier a something 690ES and my surprise when conecting a pioneer turntable from 74 it had perfect sound this using it´s original cartridge and stylus ,the problem was that when i change to a cd ,it sounded so bad that i couldn´t believe, if i recorded a cassette from diferent cds i had ,the cassette would sound better, regards

I'm 73 have a mid '70's Pioneer and a 5 year old Thorens, both full auto , very fine to me. modern T'table specs are hard to find > example 'Stereophile' does full tests of many speakers and amps but their T'Table reviews are most all fluff. even manuf. specs are thin, way back even magazine ads had lots of technical specs.
@@rickc661 the last turntable i bought was in the 90´s and a thorens too, i had already a thorens turntable professional line from late 60´s and it sounds very good, about repairs never done nothing to it ,either than changing the cartridge to a better one, the V15 from shure, and i´m using today a hitachi power and pre amplifier ,also a toshiba turntable with aurex stylus and cartridge and some celestion ditton from them 1970 catalog (restored to original specifications) was the best model at the time, also am using a tascam reel deck and 79 F series philips cassette deck, i don´t know how much thousands of €´s one had to spend today to match it´s sound , and some here on youtube think they know about hi-fi, also have a big colection of pioneer ,all top end devices they had in the 70´s my family was a pioneer afiliated, once joking i said to a uncle that i had just bought a stereo receiver from SANSUI this in mid 70´s when i was in my 20´s ,he looked like he was going to kill me ,to what i continue saying that i was only joking i had bought a SX-838 from pioneer and what a sound it as, not that powerfull but loud enough to fill a living room of perfect sound with some HPM-100, this using the thorens from late 60´s, i colect hi-fi components and also music
When reading the manual for the Thorens TD 206 turntable I purchased 5 years ago, it states clearly that "anti-skate" is an imprecise science and may involve the model of cartridge you are using above and beyond just setting it arbitrarily to the tracking weight you are employing. I have been very happy with this table, but the dealer upgraded two steps in cartridge quality on my particular purchase to the Ortofon Blue from the original Audio Technica and then Ortofon Red. I kept noticing that when placing my needle in the lead in grooves of many LPs, the arm was just skipping back off the record. Since there are no clear "markings" for this tables anti-skate, I dialed it way back and no longer have this problem and have noticed much less distortion and much clearer separation in sound stage between the two channels as the LP nears the closure of each side. By the way, the anti-skate on these TP92 arms is cleverly achieved by the use of magnets. I believe that Rega uses a similar system. But the purpose of this long diatribe was not to discuss the anti-skate on my table, but rather to say that I rather like the string and weight design used on the table in this review. I have always felt it to be as accurate as it needs to be and is so simplistic that there is no need for magnets or springs or other mechanisms that can fail inside the tonearm itself. So, I rather like this design and applaud it's use and simplicity.
Anti-skate is a much more precise science than people might lead you to believe. Take a look at the Wally Skater from WAM engineering (and their videos) and you'll see why.
I've also found the antiskate needed setting that much further with my MP-500. This is true with both my SL1210G & SL1210GR. Wonder if it's a Technics or Nagaoka thing? Or perhaps my specific MP-500 is a little out of goose to what it should be. Guess Ill find out when it comes to change the stylus.
@@thevinylattack Chris, I'm not doubting you. That being said, Edgar Vilchur did not think it important enough to include on his table. But what I'm questioning, can't manufacturers agree on the most cost-effective way to accomplish it and perhaps the old string and counterweight isn't such a bad idea. I think people object to it because they think they won't "install" it properly or they might lose the counterweight, or a child might grab it or.... whatever. And it adjusts itself as the tonearm traverses the LP.

I will not be able to spend $2500 on a new Turntable for at lest the next 25 years. But this seems like a real nod to the audiophile market. My question is does the build quality alone add to the sound quality of the unit? Or does build quality allow aid tone arm in letting the stylus better track the record grooves, so the cartridge can opperate more efficiently?
Need to do the ultimate: a solid lead platter that weighs 20 lbs. No acoustic feed back and precise constant speed. Be sure to get the heavy duty bearing.
So I personally have the x2 and honestly there’s a lot of similarities and for the 1k price difference I definitely won’t be upgrading. I’ve never personally liked the exposed belt designs and I’m a fan of acrylic platters. Now I will be upgrading the power supply and possibly adding the aluminium sub platter to if in the future but it’s honestly a perfect turntable for me. Honestly I’m a fan of project audio, I really appreciate how you can always see exactly what they’re putting your money into. I was wondering what’s the best way to measure wow and flutter?
I also have the X2 and see very little difference which justifies the price difference. I added the High Power-It, which made a noticeable improvement. Also ordered the alu sub-platter, which is in transit. I love the acrylic platter! It was one of the main selling points of the X2.

Thanks for your greta videos. Back in 2011 I purchased a Project RM-5.1 Se turntable. This was a big spend for me. It came with a Sumiko Blue Point #2 cartridge. I have never replaced it. I have been told by other audio file friends that I should replace my cartage every 4-5 years. I place vinyl once to twice a week 1 -3 albums at a time. So my questions as you can problem guess is if I get the upgraded Blue Point #3 I'll have pretty much the sound I had before? or should I look for something else? I listen to a to of Jazz Rock from the 70'a 80 and classical. If I was to upgrade my budget would be max $1k. But will my turntable give me that upgrade. I am listens on a bob carver sunfire tube amp and preamp with a a pair ok KEF LS50 and a PS Audio GCPH-US Phone stage. Thanks for you imput.
I would take a look at replacing the cartridge, yes. There are a ton of great options out there, so it can be tricky to recommend just one. Start looking at carts around your price range and see what people are saying.
way late. it's kinda interesting from a sort of engineering theme - Rega , also a 'good' company does the exact opposite with its plastic mid / high end models doesn't it ? I've gone from an original AR (I'm old )spring suspension to Pioneer springs & thick MDF , to a pretty new thorens 103. with 1 1/2 in of mdf. ( speaker box material ) and springs. oh, when one of the 4 tiny wires to back of Cartridge breaks - very fragile - what then ? should use the easily replaceable SME / technics design. or direct plug cartridge into tonearm. ( don't ask how I know )

@@thevinylattack There's no shortage of people who criticise Pro-ject tables without hearing them. I just don't get it, it's as if they are worried that whatever Pro-ject model may sound as good or even better than their often more expensive turntable.
It has light air blowing so no dust settles. 50% off the record air tent for storing records and air-cooled spinning storage system. You should build a record stage in your backyard. You can hire these bands to play for half the price. What is next? The hovering air needle record player for 250,000. I bet you will buy and do another clip like this. Wait till the cat pisses on it and the dog chew the wires. Maybe they will take turns! This is The Tool Record Drive. Just get a cd player dude!
Weight is just a unit of measure and can't store anything. Mass can store energy, but it doesn't mean that it will or that it will affect playback. I'm certain the people at ProJect bore that in mind when creating this table.
The X8 is available without a cartridge. Re: Moonstone, for fun I put one on a Kuzma 4 point 9 arm, on an Avid Volvere SP. it sounded remarkably good for its price point.
Reasonable quality TT, or so it seams. Bit disappointing is speed drift of 0.11% and wow and flutter of 0.11%. Startup speed quite slow. Rumble of -73dB is just fine, but not exceptional. I stick to my old entry level Technics direct drive SL-D2 (rumble -75 dB, 0.03 wow and flutter, 6,9 Kg, without magic mass mumbo jumbo)
@@thevinylattack It'd make a great video if you were able to compare this Pro-ject with either a newer or vintage Technics and the same cartridge on both.
I got the Extension 9 - I was not impressed by the build quality at all for a turntable costing over £2300. One of the magnetic feet was not working properly from new, so had to get replacement, table is difficult to level as very little adjustment possible. Next, the tonearm counter weights are poorly made as well as the way they attach to the rear stub. After 6 months, it came loose and had to fix counterweight with blu-tac! Then there's the looks - pig ugly tonearm bearing and also the motor cover on the rear left - yuk! The whole thing looks like it was designed by kids. I got rid of it after 12 months for a much, much better secondhand, but like new, Roksan Xerxes 20+ for less money. Personally, I'd recommend people to stay away from their tables and buy something better built.
@@thevinylattack I wasn't crazy about the look of it to begin with no, but I think it kinda grew uglier as time passed ! But the build quality is not impressive - maybe the x8 is better?

@@hoobsgroove You assume that one is better than the other. They're very different tables and people will like one over the other for very different reasons.
Its funny how Technics fanboys are convinced it's impossible to have a better table than an SL-1200 cause of wow and flutter. Its like clockwork whenever a new table is introduced.
@@mikechivy It's not fanboying. It's simply acknowledging that it hits a bang-for-buck sweet-spot for build and technical quality; which is just a product of being produced at a time when the demand allowed such a thing to be produced on scale for the masses. It's not perfect by any means, but second hand at a decent price it's better than most new decks at a similar price and will likely last far longer. I also like restoring and re-using quality old stuff rather than running out to buy the newest landfill junk (not that the Project is junk by any means, but a lot of entry level sure is). I brought it up because it is a deck that went by the "mass-loading" and damping principles discussed in the review.
@@thevinylattack They kept offering me upgrades, they kept giving me deals. Eventually I ended up with the upper level models I think that it was called the Perspex but still had issues. Replaced a bunch of parts but the problems were never fixed and eventually there was an issue with the tone-arm bearing. So I just got out of it and sold it for parts and bought a technics 1200gr. Very happy with the technics and I have had no issues. Thanks for mocking me though.
Project makes good stuff but I doubt I'll ever leave Technics. It's just so easy. I could hit an intruder in the face with it and it'd keep working absoluty fine.

I think the Hana would be a very good fit for the X8, and while I very much enjoyed the table I have no plans to get anything new for quite a while.

An azimuth adjustment is always a good idea in my opinion, but there are a good number of quality tables that don't include it.

Having said that though, I will definitely look into this table once it comes to Canada. And then I'd find a place to silkscreen/print a logo for me...
As far as I'm aware the table will sell without a cartridge for $500 less, or, 7 million in Canadian dollars.

i´m still using the turntables i have from the 70´s ,this because they sound better to me ,i already bought at least 3 turntables after 1980 but ended up selling them, the best i had either than the SL-1000mkII from technics was a thorens that i bought an expensive cartridge that made the turntable sound even better but in the 90´s a friend ofered me a lot of money to buy it ,that i couldn´t say no, now i´m using a turntable that all say that it´s not good but i compare it with new models from technics and compare some specifications and they seem the same but for some reason they(my friends and also on coment section of diferent sites) say it´s not good but i don´t mind i like the sound ,have also two other turntables from pioneer ,a 74 and a 79 ,all have good cartridges and i change from one to another and i´m happy with them but sometimes i think about buying a new one but prices are so high that the ones i can aford are just ridiculous and people talk good about them, but when looking to the technics turntables released in the last years they are the same as my other two 70´s turntables then i hear everybody talking about upgrading cartridge and stylus like they were buying new shoes and think ,why one that has a perfect sounding turntable will spend more than a 1000€ to buy another cartridge and stylus ,one thing i notice the phono stage in all new amplifiers are very bad while in any receiver or amplifier of the 70´s even the cheaper ones had incredible good phono stages, this explains why all are getting new improved cartridges and stylus hoping they will improve the sound. a friend of mine wants to buy the 2m black cartridge and stylus from ortofon, i found it expensive and he already has the second one after what came with the turntable a OM 10 then he bought a sumiko pearl that it´s cheap but sounds good ,i never saw so many people from diferent countries wanting to buy new cartridges and stylus . As an example i can say that in 93 i bought a sony integrated amplifier a something 690ES and my surprise when conecting a pioneer turntable from 74 it had perfect sound this using it´s original cartridge and stylus ,the problem was that when i change to a cd ,it sounded so bad that i couldn´t believe, if i recorded a cassette from diferent cds i had ,the cassette would sound better, regards

I'm 73 have a mid '70's Pioneer and a 5 year old Thorens, both full auto , very fine to me. modern T'table specs are hard to find > example 'Stereophile' does full tests of many speakers and amps but their T'Table reviews are most all fluff. even manuf. specs are thin, way back even magazine ads had lots of technical specs.
@@rickc661 the last turntable i bought was in the 90´s and a thorens too, i had already a thorens turntable professional line from late 60´s and it sounds very good, about repairs never done nothing to it ,either than changing the cartridge to a better one, the V15 from shure, and i´m using today a hitachi power and pre amplifier ,also a toshiba turntable with aurex stylus and cartridge and some celestion ditton from them 1970 catalog (restored to original specifications) was the best model at the time, also am using a tascam reel deck and 79 F series philips cassette deck, i don´t know how much thousands of €´s one had to spend today to match it´s sound , and some here on youtube think they know about hi-fi, also have a big colection of pioneer ,all top end devices they had in the 70´s my family was a pioneer afiliated, once joking i said to a uncle that i had just bought a stereo receiver from SANSUI this in mid 70´s when i was in my 20´s ,he looked like he was going to kill me ,to what i continue saying that i was only joking i had bought a SX-838 from pioneer and what a sound it as, not that powerfull but loud enough to fill a living room of perfect sound with some HPM-100, this using the thorens from late 60´s, i colect hi-fi components and also music
When reading the manual for the Thorens TD 206 turntable I purchased 5 years ago, it states clearly that "anti-skate" is an imprecise science and may involve the model of cartridge you are using above and beyond just setting it arbitrarily to the tracking weight you are employing. I have been very happy with this table, but the dealer upgraded two steps in cartridge quality on my particular purchase to the Ortofon Blue from the original Audio Technica and then Ortofon Red. I kept noticing that when placing my needle in the lead in grooves of many LPs, the arm was just skipping back off the record. Since there are no clear "markings" for this tables anti-skate, I dialed it way back and no longer have this problem and have noticed much less distortion and much clearer separation in sound stage between the two channels as the LP nears the closure of each side. By the way, the anti-skate on these TP92 arms is cleverly achieved by the use of magnets. I believe that Rega uses a similar system. But the purpose of this long diatribe was not to discuss the anti-skate on my table, but rather to say that I rather like the string and weight design used on the table in this review. I have always felt it to be as accurate as it needs to be and is so simplistic that there is no need for magnets or springs or other mechanisms that can fail inside the tonearm itself. So, I rather like this design and applaud it's use and simplicity.
Anti-skate is a much more precise science than people might lead you to believe. Take a look at the Wally Skater from WAM engineering (and their videos) and you'll see why.
I've also found the antiskate needed setting that much further with my MP-500. This is true with both my SL1210G & SL1210GR. Wonder if it's a Technics or Nagaoka thing? Or perhaps my specific MP-500 is a little out of goose to what it should be. Guess Ill find out when it comes to change the stylus.

@@thevinylattack Chris, I'm not doubting you. That being said, Edgar Vilchur did not think it important enough to include on his table. But what I'm questioning, can't manufacturers agree on the most cost-effective way to accomplish it and perhaps the old string and counterweight isn't such a bad idea. I think people object to it because they think they won't "install" it properly or they might lose the counterweight, or a child might grab it or.... whatever. And it adjusts itself as the tonearm traverses the LP.

I will not be able to spend $2500 on a new Turntable for at lest the next 25 years. But this seems like a real nod to the audiophile market. My question is does the build quality alone add to the sound quality of the unit? Or does build quality allow aid tone arm in letting the stylus better track the record grooves, so the cartridge can opperate more efficiently?
It really boils down to if the tonearm can make use of the solid build.
Need to do the ultimate: a solid lead platter that weighs 20 lbs. No acoustic feed back and precise constant speed. Be sure to get the heavy duty bearing.
So I personally have the x2 and honestly there’s a lot of similarities and for the 1k price difference I definitely won’t be upgrading. I’ve never personally liked the exposed belt designs and I’m a fan of acrylic platters. Now I will be upgrading the power supply and possibly adding the aluminium sub platter to if in the future but it’s honestly a perfect turntable for me. Honestly I’m a fan of project audio, I really appreciate how you can always see exactly what they’re putting your money into. I was wondering what’s the best way to measure wow and flutter?
The best way is with fairly expensive software that does the work for you. An app on your phone can do a fairly good job for a lot less money though.
I also have the X2 and see very little difference which justifies the price difference. I added the High Power-It, which made a noticeable improvement. Also ordered the alu sub-platter, which is in transit. I love the acrylic platter! It was one of the main selling points of the X2.

Thanks for your greta videos. Back in 2011 I purchased a Project RM-5.1 Se turntable. This was a big spend for me. It came with a Sumiko Blue Point #2 cartridge. I have never replaced it. I have been told by other audio file friends that I should replace my cartage every 4-5 years. I place vinyl once to twice a week 1 -3 albums at a time. So my questions as you can problem guess is if I get the upgraded Blue Point #3 I'll have pretty much the sound I had before? or should I look for something else? I listen to a to of Jazz Rock from the 70'a 80 and classical. If I was to upgrade my budget would be max $1k. But will my turntable give me that upgrade. I am listens on a bob carver sunfire tube amp and preamp with a a pair ok KEF LS50 and a PS Audio GCPH-US Phone stage. Thanks for you imput.
I would take a look at replacing the cartridge, yes. There are a ton of great options out there, so it can be tricky to recommend just one. Start looking at carts around your price range and see what people are saying.

way late. it's kinda interesting from a sort of engineering theme - Rega , also a 'good' company does the exact opposite with its plastic mid / high end models doesn't it ? I've gone from an original AR (I'm old )spring suspension to Pioneer springs & thick MDF , to a pretty new thorens 103. with 1 1/2 in of mdf. ( speaker box material ) and springs. oh, when one of the 4 tiny wires to back of Cartridge breaks - very fragile - what then ? should use the easily replaceable SME / technics design. or direct plug cartridge into tonearm. ( don't ask how I know )

Weight is just a unit of measure and can't store anything. Mass can store energy, but it doesn't mean that it will or that it will affect playback. I'm certain the people at ProJect bore that in mind when creating this table.
What makes a great sounding turntable ? Remember it has nothing to do with measurements ! They don't count in audio.
Yeah, the Moonstone is also provided with the X2. Disappointing.
The X8 is available without a cartridge. Re: Moonstone, for fun I put one on a Kuzma 4 point 9 arm, on an Avid Volvere SP. it sounded remarkably good for its price point.
How're you gonna call out curling like that when this turntable has an integrated curling stone
Reasonable quality TT, or so it seams. Bit disappointing is speed drift of 0.11% and wow and flutter of 0.11%. Startup speed quite slow. Rumble of -73dB is just fine, but not exceptional. I stick to my old entry level Technics direct drive SL-D2 (rumble -75 dB, 0.03 wow and flutter, 6,9 Kg, without magic mass mumbo jumbo)
While the Technics might be more accurate, it sure doesn't sound as good. The .11 isn't a noticeable variant in music listening in my experience.
0.11% is low enough to be inaudible except with test tones.
@@thevinylattack It'd make a great video if you were able to compare this Pro-ject with either a newer or vintage Technics and the same cartridge on both.
I got the Extension 9 - I was not impressed by the build quality at all for a turntable costing over £2300. One of the magnetic feet was not working properly from new, so had to get replacement, table is difficult to level as very little adjustment possible. Next, the tonearm counter weights are poorly made as well as the way they attach to the rear stub. After 6 months, it came loose and had to fix counterweight with blu-tac! Then there's the looks - pig ugly tonearm bearing and also the motor cover on the rear left - yuk! The whole thing looks like it was designed by kids. I got rid of it after 12 months for a much, much better secondhand, but like new, Roksan Xerxes 20+ for less money. Personally, I'd recommend people to stay away from their tables and buy something better built.

It's simply acknowledging that it hits a bang-for-buck sweet-spot for build and technical quality; which is just a product of being produced at a time when the demand allowed such a thing to be produced on scale for the masses. It's not perfect by any means, but second hand at a decent price it's better than most new decks at a similar price and will likely last far longer. I also like restoring and re-using quality old stuff rather than running out to buy the newest landfill junk (not that the Project is junk by any means, but a lot of entry level sure is). I brought it up because it is a deck that went by the "mass-loading" and damping principles discussed in the review.

@@thevinylattack They kept offering me upgrades, they kept giving me deals. Eventually I ended up with the upper level models I think that it was called the Perspex but still had issues. Replaced a bunch of parts but the problems were never fixed and eventually there was an issue with the tone-arm bearing. So I just got out of it and sold it for parts and bought a technics 1200gr. Very happy with the technics and I have had no issues. Thanks for mocking me though.

Project makes good stuff but I doubt I'll ever leave Technics. It's just so easy. I could hit an intruder in the face with it and it'd keep working absoluty fine.

This is not a true mass-loaded turntable. It is relatively light, with springy feet, hence it is a suspended turntable. Don’t believe the hype.

It does look nice but i had really bad experiance with 2 pro-ject turntables and there is no chance i will let a third one in my home 🥲
