As a lifelong Flyers fan this story made me tear up. Couldn't be happier that the city of Brotherly Love may have had a small part in this incredible story. Now the Flyers just need to harness that power for themselves! 😉
Ironic that the Blues helped make the Broad Street Bullies back in the day. Y’all got your two Cups with that team. Pretty damn cool Philly inspired the Blues with a song!
It probably won’t happen but there should be a movie or documentary about the late Laura Branigan and how her song Gloria inspired a professional sports team to win the big one.
When the Espy's came out that summer, the vote for the best team that year should've gone to the St. Louis Blues as a Ranger Fan here. But the lousy sports fans and voters went with the USA Women's soccer team
With all due respect for the Blues' efforts and victory, I can't imagine a less inspiring or hockey-esque song than that one. Or am I missing something? I heard "Eye of the Tiger" today at the grocery store and I was inspired and taken back to the 80s.
What makes this song great is that it's not a song you normally think of as a victory song. The Blues' players even said that in the video. It's not about the specific song, it's about the meaning behind the song and how it came to be (started off their big win streak).

I don't know about the Gloria song, but that 11 game winning streak sparked my faith.

The unofficial Washington Nationals anthem brought me here. RUclips loves taking me on a journey.

Damn, Philly deadass helped another team win the Stanley cause we fucking suck too much to even get to the playoffs
I almost don't hate that song , but the Blues winning, GLORIOUS.
What that song is amazing.
It wasn't Gloria that help them the most Bennington
Laura Brangian would be proud!
