I always thought that Tom Branson had the best character development and story arc over the entire series. Allen Leech is a very gifted actor, because he makes it possible to forget that Tom is a fictional character.
Tom’s journey from the chauffeur to the son of Grantham’s was very poised and dignified. One which was underlined by his true devotion to Sybil’s memory and genuine love for the family.
When he finally told off Mary. Yes Tom. 😊
Agreed! I would have been mad if they didn’t include that scene.
Tom is my favourite character@@ElvishRanger93
Tom is such a lovely character ❤
Allen Leech, a.k.a. Tom Branson, is one of my favorite characters. I love the way his part developed throughout the series and movies.
Dammit! I'm going to have to watch the entire series yet again. I've forgotten how much I absolutely loved all the characters.
So many great Branson scenes! @5:12 I love how he asked the Dowager Countess to dance so graciously. 💞
Tom is easily one of my favorite characters
One of the best characters from DA. Spot on, without pettiness, class antagonism or rudeness. Branson wss always a gentleman on the inside.
the order these are in is kind of jarring. I'm glad i know the story already
I love the scene where he peeps through the window to see Sybil's new dress. And also when he meets Lucy & dances with her ❤
You mean... the "Peeping Tom" scene?
Loved it when tom told Mary off.
I had forgotten how beautiful Sybil was!
She was a stunner
Tom and his second wife have a new baby at the end of the second movie - I like to think the baby is a boy named after Matthew. Their friendship was special.
My favourite Branson part is when Sybil dies. Horrible event, but he acted it so well that he made you feel that you were right there.
Was he ever in anything else? He looks so familiar but I can only remember him from Downton.
He's Allen Leach, Google him, he's been in 18 shows ...

He was ridiculous in Rome.
He was in The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbach.
@@kathy.7475such a great film!
@@kerriethompson2073 One of my all time favorites. I’ve always been a WWII history buff but never knew about Alan Turing.
Loved when he told Mary off, she had it coming in spades. Can't stand her got what she deserved.
He started as a very interesting character. By the last couple of seasons he had become dull.
🙂 👏🏻
Unpopular opinion but i like Tom and Sybil both as characters but not as a couple.
Some people would say Tom was a terrorist.
🕊
Communists at heart, extreme left.
He should just have been frieds with LADY Sybil
Still a lovely chatacter in the series
She wouldn't have died if they had remained friends 😶
Toms Socialist/Communist moments were not his best moments. They're never anyones best moments, for those few susceptible to the lies of Socialism/Communism.
If you live in a community that uses taxes to pay for roads, police, or firefighters, and you also pay those taxes, I regret to inform you that you are also a socialist. 😂
@BewildaJane The fascists ARE all Socialists. With the exception of the R.o.P. in the M.E. And those two corrupt groups of fascists are DEEPLY in bed with each other.
@BewildaJane The Nazis (literally the National Socialist Party) were Leftist Socialists. Of course the Left doesn't find them convenient to acknowledge as their own anymore. Mainly because they failed though, not because of anything they did. To the Left, the only unforgivable offense, is to lose power.

Tom shouldn't have punched abiove his weight
How is falling in love “punching above his weight?”
Tasteless comment that belies a complete lack of feeling. What are you even doing here?
@@c.a.savage5689 hope you’re referring to the comment by @TheBekiever1204 because mine was in Tom’ defense.
