As a former dealer and pit boss. This is how we spot most card counters. When they dont take insurance on a 20. Then 1hr later take insurance on a 12 it sends up red flags.
@soybeanrice not always a sign of a counter though. Some people just fluctuate their bets, and when someone has a bigger bet out they naturally want to protect it.
Wtf? Not disagreing or anything but very curious...how where u able to tell by that?? Bc. insurance has nothing to do with your hand. 12,15,20 doesnt matter....its a side bet on the dealers hand....and i think "real" card counters will not play insurance bc they have a 20...as they know. Thats not how it works. So did they play wrong or where there other tells execpt the obvious ones?
@@nitrex02you’re not able to tell by that. That would be a tell that someone isn’t a card counter because they are making an emotional decision rather than a mathematical one.

A side bet. You can do it when the dealer has an ace. Pay up to half the original bet and get paid triple when it turns out to be a blackjack for the dealer. Chance of drawing a 10 is approx 4/13. So expected outcome is approx 12/13. Chances are higher with lots of 10s in the remaining deck.
Do you think it’d ever be worth it to learn card counting for solo play just to maximize deviations like this without actually playing progressive betting strategies (I’m a bitch and am pretty scared of getting caught or accused of counting and getting banned)
You need to understand why getting caught/accused of counting results in a ban. It is because casino's want losers. So the only way they let you play with zero sweat is if you are a proven/known loser. Do you want to continue playing a game knowing that youre a loser? Or do you want to play with a possible time limit but having a chance to win? Winning requires counting and proper play. Also, just because someone can keep track of the witnessed cards, it doesnt mean they are a winning player. You have to have the discipline to play within your bankroll, something I do not have.
When you are counting cards if your count is a true 3 or higher it means there are a lot of ten value cards left in shoe, so with that info you can adjust your play to increase odds

I have recently been to Macau. There are two things I would like to say: 1. They shuffle after every single round, so basically card counting does not work any more. Maybe just some casinos do it and different casinos do it differently. I don't know. 2. As far as I know, there is a house edge, which means even if you exactly follow the basic strategy, your overall chances of winning are still below 50%.
Staying on 16 on dealers 10 or hitting on 16 i agree with u but not surrender thats the most dumbest thing u can do always mess up the other players hands
You surrender a 16 vs a 10 when the count is favorable for the player. That way, you have a better chance next hand. 16 vs a 10 is losing whether you hit or stay, so keeping the count in your favor is why you might surrender in that spot.
@@ProdRaju if u playing alone but not when ur play a $10 hand and the player is playing a $100-$300 hand u playing $10 a hand u can hit it i rather pay the guy an extra $20 so he can bust or take dealers made hand then the idiots surrenders and the dealer make 19 to 21
you must not be an ap. any play you make does not effect their hand. and any play they make is not effecting your hand. you are all playing with your own odds. if you don’t surrender that 16 vs a 9,10,A you are costing yourself a lot of money and it isn’t hurting anyone but yourself.

Even easier to spot a counter - they only take insurance when big bets are out

Colin, you mentioned hitting a 16 vs. 10 with a RC0. I think you stay at RC0.
No, you hit on RC0

now does staying on 16 imply a true count of 1? or a running total of 1?

When you are counting cards if your count is a true 3 or higher it means there are a lot of ten value cards left in shoe, so with that info you can adjust your play to increase odds
A true 3 in a 6 deck game is determined by how many decks are in the discard tray and your running count divided by remaining decks.

"true" count is running count divided by number of remaining decks

Basic strategy anywhere is a losing game, unless you’re card counting. If you’re not counting, you will lose if you play long enough.
