    I primarily had Floyd Rose style bridges for the first 15 years of guitar playing. I loved the tuning stability and feel of them, but restringing and intonation is obnoxious on those, even if you’ve done it for years and gotten reasonably good at it. Being that I wasn’t much of a whammy goblin anymore I gravitated to fixed bridges, but missed the stability of the Floyd. I bought an EC-1007et a few years ago and I love it. I’m planning on getting a 6 string with an Evertune in the near future. I think the Evertune is an incredible tool for recording and live. The name says it all. It’s forEVER in TUNE. Intonation is a breeze on these bridges. It also feels very comfortable on your picking hand. If it’s not some peoples thing then fine. But there is nothing to hate about these things in my opinion. I just found your channel man. I’ll be back. Cheers!

    Thanks for the video!! I just ordered a Kiesel with Fishman and Evertune. Are you able to bend and keep the vibrato feeling? Does it need extra power for your hand/fingers? Im a little bit worried since this will be my first Evertune guitar.

    Hi thanks for the video. I have 15 year old Korean schecter 006 extreme which was a mid range guitar back in early 2000s. It was my second proper guitar that I had. I am not going to sell it ever I think cause of sentiment but I was thinking to give it a glow up. New tuners pickups and evertune bridge. Do you think is worth it or evertune is better suited to very high end guitars?

    If I had the standard tension saddle of the evertune, could I still be able to play all tunings besides A ?

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  4 года назад +1

      Yes as long as you use a string gauge within the recommended range by Evertune. The key thing to remember is the system works off a constant level of tension hence lower tunings need a specific gauge of string to give enough tension to activate the saddle. You can use Evertunes handy string gauge calculator to work out what you need:

    You have a decent collection of guitars. Can you do a comparison video between your schecter and Solar pls? I love both brands but I have non of them. Your video would help deciding where to invest my blood money. Cheers!!!

    example if I want change tuning to D drop but string tension gauge caltulator not reccoment with my string gauges. If I don’t care tuning stability can I still tune to d drop like standart guitars or will damage to my bridge or that bridge system don’t allowing if not compatible string gauge? I hope my english is understandable ;)

    If we don’t want to use evertune bridge tuning stability and if we want change tune quickly for few songs can we go out from zone 2 with tuning pegs and tune our guitar with same gauge strings? If we can will be cause any damage or problem?

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  Год назад

      You can if you keep on turning the machine heads until the saddle goes below zone 2 but I cant tell you how well it will stay in tune like that...

  • @a1paradox19
    @a1paradox19 6 месяцев назад

    Can’t wait to get one. One of the biggest things I’ve heard about evertune is that you can’t change tunings a lot. I play modern metal ranging from drop F# to drop B. Do you think that is doable for evertune? Or would I need multiple guitars if I’m going across that big a range of tunings?

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  6 месяцев назад

      The key restriction with Evertune is only certain string gauges will enable you to use certain tunings because the saddles need a set amount of tension to work properly. So it's not just a case of changing the tuning but oftentimes it can require a change of string gauge too. Best thing to do is use Evertunes free String Tension calculator on their website to see what gauge you'd need for your desired tuning.

    Great video dude. Very informative. This is a bit of an unrelated question.. but how are you doing the moving side camera, is it an after effect or have you got a moving stand or something? Or a friend? Just asking cause I think its a cool effect and would be great for something I'm filming soon

    I have a 90's Carvin DC12 KOA neck thru, and I love that guitar. Its almost unhealthy how much I freeking love it, bur that's another story. It's just that trem is so damned finicky I don't play it much, and that sucks, because my heart melts and I get all weak knees when it's looking and sounding right. It was the Wilkerson (Wilkinson?) trem in it. Do you think that would leave a lot of gap once the ET was installed? It's a beautiful looking, playing, and sounding guitar when setup properly (not my forte). I'd LOVE to have the EverTune installed. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers from the US. And solid info in the vid btw

      @ChilledGuitarReviews  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching mate. I know its possible to replace a Floyd with ET with various blanking plate solutions so your best bet is to visit Evertunes website, find the closest approved Evertune installer to you and hit them up. Luthiers love a challenge in my experience!

    • @flip7081
      @flip7081 2 года назад

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews Too true on the luthier front. If you don't mind then ask, I know you can adjust the tuning so that you can get a string bend out of it. Is it unreasonable to think that if the entire thing was just tuned like that, that you'd get kinda normal bend tones? Nothing crazy mind you, just enough for expression. Or is the ET just really best at just staying in tune, and knowing that's what I'm signing up for?

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  2 года назад

      @@flip7081 You can definitely set it to a normal bend range by tweaking the tuning pegs so its perfectly on the cusp of Zone 3. You may find it still has a slightly different feel to a normal fixed bridge guitar though. I think it does but its such a small difference it doesn't bother me.

    Thanks for this video, but I have to say this.
    I actually never played an Evertune bridge equiped guitar (i've been thinking about putting one in my favorite guitar). If you say that the sustain/tone is similar to a floyd rose system, then it's not just a tiny bit different... it's COMPLETELY different (which is what i was affraid of).
    It's hard to understand how you could not be 100% sure that your sustain/tone has completely changed, seeing that you own a lot of guitars.
    I have own tons of guitars (different type) and been playing for over 20 years, but if I compare 2 of my Ibanez RG's (identical models, same wood, but one has a locking trem and the other one has a fixed bridge)... and that is night and day difference, both in terms of tone and sustain. I don't feel like it's a tiny bit different sometimes, and the next day i think it's identical. It's different to a point that i NEVER use my locking trem guitars, unless i absolutely need to use the tremolo in a song (the only reason i still own one). It's completely uninspiring to play for me and a bunch of other players. Maybe you play with so much distorsion that the lack of sustain/tone is hidden, so it's fine for you?
    Moral of the story : the Evertune bridge is an awesome product, but it won't replace a fixed bridge (unless you're a heavy player exclusively, and never ''feel'' the dynamic of your guitar tone). It's an awesome and revolutionnary studio tool, no doubt about that... but I still absolutely NEED a fixed bridge guitar, because there is SO much acoustic nuances that you simply can't get out of a floating tremolo equiped guitar. To me, it's like playing on an old transistor amp VS playing a tube amp. I was hoping that the sustain was more similar to a strat bridge (kind of in between the dead tone of a floating bridge and a fixed bridge). Anyway, thanks for confirming... you may have actually saved my absolute favorite guitar!

      @ChilledGuitarReviews  3 года назад +2

      All fair points mate. To add to the discussion I would also say that the amount it effects overall resonance and tone will likely vary from guitar to guitar also. As I said in the video the Schecter is quite slim bodied and only just wide enough to fit so I'm thinking with a heftier bodied guitar with more wood to spare it may be less of a concern.
      But yeah although I currently don't own any Floyd rose equipped guitars I have in the past and the overall difference to resonance and sustain is definitely in line with a good official Floyd bridge.
      You're correct that when you mostly play high gain metal like I do you're barely going to notice. I'd also argue that once you add in things like active pickups, compression in the signal chain etc even on Cleans it may not be an issue.
      Anyway thanks for watching and glad I could help 👍👍👍

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews Yes, everything that pushes the input of the amp will make the lack of sustain less appearing.
