I dont think AOD is dying any time soon, considering that a new game was released last month, and theres a manga (Angel's of Death 0) that's still ongoing. So the idea of a sequel game to the main series doesnt seem impossible.
Not going to change anyone's opinion, but I've watched the anime ending with several subs (not same language tho) and in most of them, the doc said that 'Zack *was* sentenced to death'. And was means that something was in the past. So my theory is that when Rachel heard that Zack was sentenced to death, decided to join him and simply kill herself. That's why in 6:28 the knife was all bloody. Her brain made her change some parts, so when we see Zack trying to open up that window, it is actually Ray, doing it pretty.. not the easy way and that's why we see her blood on the bottom of the window. Finally, when she is dead, her soul wakes up in her bed and sees Zack's soul waiting for her to rest in peace together. And that's why (in anime) when they fall out the window, they float in the sky instead of falling down.
This works with the 'no body was found in the bottom' I've been hearing about. But that glass inside is a mystery on its own, it is still there when the doc and police went in.
I saw an opinion on internet nowadays and i totally agree with that: More time passes, the anime in particular shows that months pass since the seasons change between scenes with Rachel. Information about Zack is withheld from Rachel until eventually Rachel’s therapist tells her that Zack was sentenced to death. That same night, Rachel reaches a breaking point and she experiences a delusion, a symptom that is part of her mental illness. She experiences a delusional episode in which she sees Zack breaking into her room through the window with his scythe claiming he has come to fulfill his promise to kill her. In her delusion, Zack does kill her and they fall out of the window. In the anime they’re floating outside of the window unrealistically, in the game they just disappear out the window between one scene and the next and the manga has yet to conclude but it’ll probably be similar. But Zack wasn’t actually there and Rachel simply killed herself. How do we know? -The psychiatrist stated that Zack was sentenced to death. She didn’t say he is awaiting execution or is on death row, she said “sentenced to death”. He is already dead by the time she tells Rachel this. -Zack has a scythe in Rachel’s delusion, which is not possible since his scythe broke before they managed to escape the murder building and I doubt Zack could have just happened by one on his way to see Rachel. -Zack is still wearing the same clothes and his bandages, which is impossible since months passed since he was apprehended and if he had broken out of prison he would have showed up in prison clothes without bandages on. -There are no bars on the windows of any room in the institute that we see from panned out or internal shots, only on Rachel’s window, which likely means that Rachel sees these bars since she feels trapped there but they are not actually real. -The knife on the floor has no blood on it whatsoever, so no one was injured or killed with that knife. In conclusion, Rachel learning that Zack was executed pushed her over the edge and she finally resorted to killing herself. How? By breaking the glass and wood beams on the window using the knife (which I’m surprised she still had), climbing up (hence the blood on the glass and bottom of the wall) and then throwing herself out of the window, all the while seeing Zack being with her. People argue that the glass is broken inwards, but some glass is broken inwards, which would happen even when breaking a window from the inside. The glass will fall both in and outside. Also that window is large and very little glass is actually on the inside of the room.
as you can see in the anime, the bars of the window seems to be made of iron, i don't think that a girl like Rachel can cut it with a knife. In my opinion, Zack really was sentenced to death but a death like that usually takes weeks or even months to prepare so Zack got away before the execution happened or he chose to be executed by an electrocuted chair so that he can handle the electric as he did in Cathy's floor and then faked his death to escape

So i think she was the only one who saw the bars because she feels trapped, and those are actually not there. As someone who has played the game, read the manga, and watched the anime as well, I've seen all of the endings and I've noticed something strange about them that might be able to solve the debate of whether or not they died. So, in both the game and the manga endings, there is ONE bird that flies away from the building. In the anime, there are TWO. Now, this is strange because the game was made first, then the manga, and then the anime was adapted from the manga. So it should have also been one bird flying away from the building in the anime, but it wasnt; which leads me to believe that the anime has a different conclusion than the manga and game. If this is true, then what were the conclusions of the manga and game in the first place? In Angels of Death, there is an incredible amount of symbolism and metaphors. It takes a lot of watches and reads and playings to understand them or even recognize them in the first place, but the characters and their ambitions are a lot deeper than we originally imagine. So with this degree of metaphor involved with Angels of Death as a whole, I think that these birds are EXTREMELY important in reaching a conclusion as to whether or not they are alive. I don't think that the number of birds was an accident. Assuming that the birds are meant to be Zack and Ray, this means that in the game and the manga only one of them escaped (or one of them died, however you want to interpret the bird flying away from the building). Either way, this would probably be Rachel who escaped and Zack who died, whichever way you spin it. That plays into the whole "Rachel hallucinated Zack and killed herself at the end" theory. Its unfortunate, but I think that that is what it is for the manga and game. However, I think that for the anime, Makoto Sanada decided to instead go with an open ended conclusion where we as fans could decide what happened. So in the anime, the two birds fly away; either symbolizing them escaping together or both of them dying. Now- heres the happy part- I think that if they had both died, the entire sequence after escaping the building would never have happened. It doesn't fit properly for a multitude of reasons. Therefore, in conclusion, I believe that in the anime, the two of them ultimately escaped together and are alive. This is just in the anime unfortunately, but I think it's very fitting to have a bad ending and a good ending through all three of the platforms Angels of Death stands on. After all, it was originally an RPG maker game. Thanks for reading all of this, and I hope that the fans of this game, manga, and anime are still active enough to consider my theory. I haven't seen any other people noticing this, so I wanted to point it out. I'm really passionate about Angels of Death and I have been for the past three years, so the ending of it is extremely important to me and it's something I've thought about for so long. I hope that there's still someone out there that's still as excited as I am about Angels of Death.
I like that analogy, but to clear all the confusions the ending was confirmed already. It is an open ending (thats the reason as to why everything is filled with loopholes)
If any of you want to feel more empty just watch Princess Tutu. The name may sound dumb but I promise, it's an amazing anime. The first season is okay but once you get to the second season the whole plot gets way more interesting.

Just came here after the anime. Feeling so much pain right now, but I think that they are still alive. Why because in the game you can see the blood was there when Zack broke in, meaning that the blood came from him trying to open it because if you really think about it if he was Dead why would blood be there if it's just a dream. Plus Ray wouldn't have killed herself with the knife because in the anime she said that God wouldn't like if she killed herself or something like that. But I think there's blood on the knife maybe because she tried to kill herself by trying to cut herself. But remember that God wouldn't like that so she threw it away and tried to go to sleep, but I'm really not sure about the new weapon tho. But as for the anime I have a really good idea that came up about what happened in the end of the anime. So what if the priest is still alive and he went to Zack and gave him the new weapon and told him "to go get her". Because we can't really say that the priest is dead, because we never really seen him die, maybe the priest told Zack where she's at. So Zack went to go get her that's why the police was already there because maybe they were chasing him while he was running to go get her. Because if it was a dream why would the police be there plus, they can't be dead because when they showed the window, we didn't see any police lights. Meaning that she can't be dead if she did commit suicide and fell out the window, they would be police sirens and lights. And ask for the knife, maybe the knife was there because she snuck it in there to keep it as a gift to remember Zack maybe or she was thinking of killing herself, but didn't. And maybe when Zack came to pull her out the window she dropped it and for the blood on the window that was most likely from Zach trying to break through it or either the police could have shot him. But I'm also thinking the blood could have been from Ray because she did step on the glass to go to Zack so after they got out they probably ran away and the police follow them, that's why when they showed the window, we don't see the lights anymore. And try not to think so hard about the knife because they did take a lot of parts out of the anime so from looking at this game they're mostly still alive and still on the run and maybe they might go to the old shed where the old man use to live.Plus Zack probably still didn't kill her because she's still had a gloomy face plus Zack seem like he can't die and he let him self die. But if the creator say that they're alive then that's all I need to be happy now😊
The most acceptable theory is here! How could they die from normal people after they did escape from those psycopaths and that fu**ing weird building. I think the reason why Ray sees Zack in his normal outfit other than a prison outfit is because she is used to see him in his regular outfit and is imagining him in it. (This includes the scythe)

Maybe Im late but I had my theory based at this game ending. Just give mine don't worry. So when Zack and Ray jumping out the window. Let's just think, they're jumping from the 3th floor. When they're still on the way down to the ground. They had short conversation like dat (plz kill me, then stop cryin and smile) and boom, Zack kill her and he shortly dead cus he just dead when he hit the ground. Well the police find their corpse after that. And when Zack and Ray floating at sky it's their soul. Idk it's just my most logical theory I ever think.

I’d say there are both in heaven because at one point (correct me if i’m wrong) one of em said: “ so i can take u to heaven with me” or something like that. So I think Zack was already dead and just in Rachel’s mind but some how he killed her what would explain why his sense isn’t broken anymore, now Rachel helps Zack to go to heaven. @@Hxxyl in the anime he wasn't got stabbed by the glass but when he and Ray got out of the window, his leg was shown to be wounded so in my opinion, something cut his leg by accident on his way to Ray's place.

personally what I think happened: if any of you haven't seen the anime spoiler alert! in one episode it showed Zack living with this old man who later died and my theory is that they escaped to his wooden house or else why would the anime show it with a lot of detail. But who knows I really like the mysterious ending it really let's our imagination run :)
So this is how envisioned the ending after Zack went for Rachel. So as we know from the information revealed to Rachel Zack was sentenced to death and so Rachel had already given up on seeing Zack ever again but she had made the promise to take their promise with her when she thought she was going to die and that gave her some type of peace but she was kind of in limbo now, given up on all hope. But Zack didn't want to die before fulfilling his promise, so he escaped to go look for her given he had nothing left to lose. So when he went to look for her he had only one mission and that was to kill her before he died. So when he got there and took her outside he killed her, that's why he said "stop crying and smile" because that was his thing when killing people, so when he killed her the cops shot him and they ended up dead together holding hands or hugging or something. Idk that's how I want this to end and it is how in my head it ended ❤
Watched the anime, downloaded the game, finished the game. Almost cried for both; I have no idea how I didn't. At least now I have Episode: Eddie. And the manga. I will feel completely numb when I've consumed all angels of death content.
Recentemente ho finito l'anime e sono stato abbastanza scimmia da formulare alcune riflessioni finali 1) Sapendo che Zack non sa come superare i piani come ha fatto per uscire da una prigione di massima sicurezza? .. mm ha trovato la forza per l'amore che prova per Ray e ha sfondato? (con Cosa).. sempre collegato al punto 1 * la falce dello zack si è rotta .. come si fa a riprenderla? Hanno dato un altro in prigione? riflessione così brutta ma molto plausibile al punto in cui uno è andato così .. Zack è morto e Ray depresso come non ha mai fatto finta di fronte al dottore che tutto va bene .. non riesce a dormire .. e comincia a vedere cose false ... pazzi perché Zack non l'ha uccisa e senza di lui non senti niente. così con il coltello che gli ha dato zack rompe la finestra e si suicida per raggiungere lo zack (paradiso, ecc.) ps. alla fine dei titoli vedi il sangue da una finestra e un coltello a terra insieme al vetro .. 2) Zack sfugge davvero e va da lei, non ha ferite o altro perché i mesi passano da quando è imprigionata nell'anime si vede che le stagioni passano (estate primavera autunno inverno) rompe la finestra con la falce (anche se il punto rimane sempre dove l'ha preso o riparato) e dato che la polizia è alle porte con molte pattuglie si suicidano insieme infatti nell'anime si vede che salta tra le sue braccia e gli chiede di "uccidermi" e lui "basta smettere di piangere e sorridi "e soffio morto .. finale così triste ma bellissimo perché almeno ha mantenuto la sua promessa, muore felice e anche perché il suo viaggio sarebbe stato lo stesso condannato a morte .. poi morire .. morire. MA almeno lo ha fatto per la giusta causa. 3) la finale super SHIP non uccide nessuno muore fuggono felici e felici perché amano e lui non l'ucciderebbe mai e non significa che sia un bugiardo .. ucciderà ma solo quando lo vorrà davvero .. e qui è anche una finale molto carina .. ma non spiegherebbe il sangue e la finestra. Vi lascio i pensieri per il resto gioco bellissimo e bellissimo anime NICE VIDEO!

The blood was from Zack after he broke the window. I'm glad they escaped it's either a Dream or a hallucination, or They lived together on the run, or Zack killed her to fulfill their promise, or It was just rachel killed herself knife blood stained, Zack was waiting for her, He got his scythe back, they float in the ending. But the window glasses were inside the room.. Maybe she accidentally stabbed Zack because of panic? About the building or facility too? there aren't bodies? It's also heartbreaking when the Priest and Danny have their conversation before they die. Choose or create your own ending, make yourself comfy, rewatch your favorite scenes or episodes many times you like, until you find another good anime so you can move on your life. I suggest watching a slice of life anime genre after :p or do your research to empty your questions in mind.

And remember when she hear the 'murder ' in some televesion/ radio or what ever.. Okay I read this theory and this make my heert broken. I saw an opinion on internet nowadays and i totally agree with that:
More time passes, the anime in particular shows that months pass since the seasons change between scenes with Rachel. Information about Zack is withheld from Rachel until eventually Rachel’s therapist tells her that Zack was sentenced to death.
That same night, Rachel reaches a breaking point and she experiences a delusion, a symptom that is part of her mental illness. She experiences a delusional episode in which she sees Zack breaking into her room through the window with his scythe claiming he has come to fulfill his promise to kill her. In her delusion, Zack does kill her and they fall out of the window. In the anime they’re floating outside of the window unrealistically, in the game they just disappear out the window between one scene and the next and the manga has yet to conclude but it’ll probably be similar.
But Zack wasn’t actually there and Rachel simply killed herself.
How do we know?
-The psychiatrist stated that Zack was sentenced to death. She didn’t say he is awaiting execution or is on death row, she said “sentenced to death”. He is already dead by the time she tells Rachel this.
-Zack has a scythe in Rachel’s delusion, which is not possible since his scythe broke before they managed to escape the murder building and I doubt Zack could have just happened by one on his way to see Rachel.
-Zack is still wearing the same clothes and his bandages, which is impossible since months passed since he was apprehended and if he had broken out of prison he would have showed up in prison clothes without bandages on.
-There are no bars on the windows of any room in the institute that we see from panned out or internal shots, only on Rachel’s window, which likely means that Rachel sees these bars since she feels trapped there but they are not actually real.
-The knife on the floor has no blood on it whatsoever, so no one was injured or killed with that knife.
In conclusion, Rachel learning that Zack was executed pushed her over the edge and she finally resorted to killing herself. How? By breaking the glass and wood beams on the window using the knife (which I’m surprised she still had), climbing up (hence the blood on the glass and bottom of the wall) and then throwing herself out of the window, all the while seeing Zack being with her. People argue that the glass is broken inwards, but some glass is broken inwards, which would happen even when breaking a window from the inside. The glass will fall both in and outside. Also that window is large and very little glass is actually on the inside of the room.

as you can see in the anime, the bars of the window seems to be made of iron, i don't think that a girl like Rachel can cut it with a knife. In my opinion, Zack really was sentenced to death but a death like that usually takes weeks or even months to prepare so Zack got away before the execution happened or he chose to be executed by an electrocuted chair so that he can handle the electric as he did in Cathy's floor and then faked his death to escape
@@csahdkc9575 it's an interesting opinion.But that is weird where there is a scene outside the institute, where we can see no bars on any window. So i think she was the only one who saw the bars because she feels trapped, and those are actually not there. It's my opinion everyone thinking other ways.

As someone who has played the game, read the manga, and watched the anime as well, I've seen all of the endings and I've noticed something strange about them that might be able to solve the debate of whether or not they died.
So, in both the game and the manga endings, there is ONE bird that flies away from the building.
In the anime, there are TWO.
Now, this is strange because the game was made first, then the manga, and then the anime was adapted from the manga. So it should have also been one bird flying away from the building in the anime, but it wasnt; which leads me to believe that the anime has a different conclusion than the manga and game.
If this is true, then what were the conclusions of the manga and game in the first place?
In Angels of Death, there is an incredible amount of symbolism and metaphors. It takes a lot of watches and reads and playings to understand them or even recognize them in the first place, but the characters and their ambitions are a lot deeper than we originally imagine.
So with this degree of metaphor involved with Angels of Death as a whole, I think that these birds are EXTREMELY important in reaching a conclusion as to whether or not they are alive. I don't think that the number of birds was an accident.
Assuming that the birds are meant to be Zack and Ray, this means that in the game and the manga only one of them escaped (or one of them died, however you want to interpret the bird flying away from the building). Either way, this would probably be Rachel who escaped and Zack who died, whichever way you spin it. That plays into the whole "Rachel hallucinated Zack and killed herself at the end" theory. Its unfortunate, but I think that that is what it is for the manga and game.
However, I think that for the anime, Makoto Sanada decided to instead go with an open ended conclusion where we as fans could decide what happened.
So in the anime, the two birds fly away; either symbolizing them escaping together or both of them dying. Now- heres the happy part- I think that if they had both died, the entire sequence after escaping the building would never have happened. It doesn't fit properly for a multitude of reasons.
Therefore, in conclusion, I believe that in the anime, the two of them ultimately escaped together and are alive. This is just in the anime unfortunately, but I think it's very fitting to have a bad ending and a good ending through all three of the platforms Angels of Death stands on. After all, it was originally an RPG maker game.
Thanks for reading all of this, and I hope that the fans of this game, manga, and anime are still active enough to consider my theory. I haven't seen any other people noticing this, so I wanted to point it out. I'm really passionate about Angels of Death and I have been for the past three years, so the ending of it is extremely important to me and it's something I've thought about for so long. I hope that there's still someone out there that's still as excited as I am about Angels of Death.

Just came here after the anime. Feeling so much pain right now, but I think that they are still alive. Why because in the game you can see the blood was there when Zack broke in, meaning that the blood came from him trying to open it because if you really think about it if he was Dead why would blood be there if it's just a dream.
Plus Ray wouldn't have killed herself with the knife because in the anime she said that God wouldn't like if she killed herself or something like that. But I think there's blood on the knife maybe because she tried to kill herself by trying to cut herself. But remember that God wouldn't like that so she threw it away and tried to go to sleep, but I'm really not sure about the new weapon tho.
But as for the anime I have a really good idea that came up about what happened in the end of the anime. So what if the priest is still alive and he went to Zack and gave him the new weapon and told him "to go get her". Because we can't really say that the priest is dead, because we never really seen him die, maybe the priest told Zack where she's at. So Zack went to go get her that's why the police was already there because maybe they were chasing him while he was running to go get her. Because if it was a dream why would the police be there plus, they can't be dead because when they showed the window, we didn't see any police lights. Meaning that she can't be dead if she did commit suicide and fell out the window, they would be police sirens and lights. And ask for the knife, maybe the knife was there because she snuck it in there to keep it as a gift to remember Zack maybe or she was thinking of killing herself, but didn't. And maybe when Zack came to pull her out the window she dropped it and for the blood on the window that was most likely from Zach trying to break through it or either the police could have shot him. But I'm also thinking the blood could have been from Ray because she did step on the glass to go to Zack so after they got out they probably ran away and the police follow them, that's why when they showed the window, we don't see the lights anymore. And try not to think so hard about the knife because they did take a lot of parts out of the anime so from looking at this game they're mostly still alive and still on the run and maybe they might go to the old shed where the old man use to live.Plus Zack probably still didn't kill her because she's still had a gloomy face plus Zack seem like he can't die and he let him self die.
But if the creator say that they're alive then that's all I need to be happy now😊

I think the reason why Ray sees Zack in his normal outfit other than a prison outfit is because she is used to see him in his regular outfit and is imagining him in it. (This includes the scythe)

I got it from a source in Twitter, according to an interview in the Angels of Death comic/manga, Makoto Sanada the creator said they’re not dead & still on the run..there’s no link to that interview bcoz it’s printed in the manga and since it’s in Japanese you have to buy the manga in English to read all interviews...In each volume Makoto gives us some more information about the characters, floors, and little hints for the end scene we never really saw..hopefully it help you a bit😊

Maybe Im late but I had my theory based at this game ending. Just give mine don't worry. So when Zack and Ray jumping out the window. Let's just think, they're jumping from the 3th floor. When they're still on the way down to the ground. They had short conversation like dat (plz kill me, then stop cryin and smile) and boom, Zack kill her and he shortly dead cus he just dead when he hit the ground. Well the police find their corpse after that. And when Zack and Ray floating at sky it's their soul. Idk it's just my most logical theory I ever think.

So I think Zack was already dead and just in Rachel’s mind but some how he killed her what would explain why his sense isn’t broken anymore, now Rachel helps Zack to go to heaven.

personally what I think happened: if any of you haven't seen the anime spoiler alert!
in one episode it showed Zack living with this old man who later died and my theory is that they escaped to his wooden house or else why would the anime show it with a lot of detail. But who knows I really like the mysterious ending it really let's our imagination run :)

I tink that Zack is dead and Rachel too. So he came to ghet her whit him in haven and that's why it's called angels of Death.
So this is how envisioned the ending after Zack went for Rachel. So as we know from the information revealed to Rachel Zack was sentenced to death and so Rachel had already given up on seeing Zack ever again but she had made the promise to take their promise with her when she thought she was going to die and that gave her some type of peace but she was kind of in limbo now, given up on all hope. But Zack didn't want to die before fulfilling his promise, so he escaped to go look for her given he had nothing left to lose. So when he went to look for her he had only one mission and that was to kill her before he died. So when he got there and took her outside he killed her, that's why he said "stop crying and smile" because that was his thing when killing people, so when he killed her the cops shot him and they ended up dead together holding hands or hugging or something. Idk that's how I want this to end and it is how in my head it ended ❤

Watched the anime, downloaded the game, finished the game. Almost cried for both; I have no idea how I didn't. At least now I have Episode: Eddie. And the manga. I will feel completely numb when I've consumed all angels of death content.

Recentemente ho finito l'anime e sono stato abbastanza scimmia da formulare alcune riflessioni finali
1) Sapendo che Zack non sa come superare i piani come ha fatto per uscire da una prigione di massima sicurezza? .. mm ha trovato la forza per l'amore che prova per Ray e ha sfondato? (con Cosa)..
sempre collegato al punto 1 * la falce dello zack si è rotta .. come si fa a riprenderla? Hanno dato un altro in prigione? riflessione così brutta ma molto plausibile al punto in cui uno è andato così ..
Zack è morto e Ray depresso come non ha mai fatto finta di fronte al dottore che tutto va bene .. non riesce a dormire .. e comincia a vedere cose false ... pazzi perché Zack non l'ha uccisa e senza di lui non senti niente. così con il coltello che gli ha dato zack rompe la finestra e si suicida per raggiungere lo zack (paradiso, ecc.)
ps. alla fine dei titoli vedi il sangue da una finestra e un coltello a terra insieme al vetro ..
2) Zack sfugge davvero e va da lei, non ha ferite o altro perché i mesi passano da quando è imprigionata nell'anime si vede che le stagioni passano (estate primavera autunno inverno) rompe la finestra con la falce (anche se il punto rimane sempre dove l'ha preso o riparato) e dato che la polizia è alle porte con molte pattuglie si suicidano insieme infatti nell'anime si vede che salta tra le sue braccia e gli chiede di "uccidermi" e lui "basta smettere di piangere e sorridi "e soffio morto .. finale così triste ma bellissimo perché almeno ha mantenuto la sua promessa, muore felice e anche perché il suo viaggio sarebbe stato lo stesso condannato a morte .. poi morire .. morire. MA almeno lo ha fatto per la giusta causa.
3) la finale super SHIP non uccide nessuno muore fuggono felici e felici perché amano e lui non l'ucciderebbe mai e non significa che sia un bugiardo .. ucciderà ma solo quando lo vorrà davvero .. e qui è anche una finale molto carina .. ma non spiegherebbe il sangue e la finestra.

The blood was from Zack after he broke the window. I'm glad they escaped it's either a Dream or a hallucination,
or They lived together on the run,
or Zack killed her to fulfill their promise,
or It was just rachel killed herself knife blood stained, Zack was waiting for her, He got his scythe back, they float in the ending.
But the window glasses were inside the room.. Maybe she accidentally stabbed Zack because of panic?
About the building or facility too? there aren't bodies? It's also heartbreaking when the Priest and Danny have their conversation before they die.
Choose or create your own ending, make yourself comfy, rewatch your favorite scenes or episodes many times you like, until you find another good anime so you can move on your life.
I suggest watching a slice of life anime genre after :p
