Don't get me wrong, Cole's still sending out great messages in his newer songs, but it is just something about his older music that gives me goosebumps. 😍😍😍
2012, back home after being academically kicked out of University of Iowa. Had a burned CD and this was one of the songs on it. Played it daily on the way to the community college I had to enroll at just thinking trust the process and it will work out for me. Fast forward, transferred out of the community college back to a university. Got my degree in business and graduated in December 2016. I very very humbly can say I make six figures now but I will always have a connection to this song because it was in constant rotation during one of the most confusing and disappointing parts of my younger life, I can't help but smile when I hear this song now!
if you don't like a J. COLE song, then listen to it again. it's like Shakespeare, you might not get it the first time but when you do it gives you insight not only about the artist but about yourself as well
Most of us aren't pushing Bugatti's and rocking Tom Ford lol, J.Cole's doesn't talk about stuff like that which makes his music definitely more relatable than most rappers. Dudes an inspiration to me.
I became a Cole fan about 2 years ago. Recently just found this song and " The Plan" and "Visions of Home". All 3 songs are ridiculous. Cole is the truth.
6th grade I fell in love with Cole when he became a mainstream artist but years later in life around Covid and freshman year in college I discovered the old throwback Cole.. since then I hardly listen to any of this generation's music, I just be listening and reminiscing even though Im still quite young but just about the thing that coulda been and what I miss in life
I'm not even jokin when I say I been vibin wit 2014FHD since it dropped! It's like the only thing I been listenin to but I was in the mood to hear the Melanie & Cee-Lo joint so I searched for it & I ain't even know this existed! This is EXACTLY what I wanted! That's crazy!
ok so i read thru the comments.. and found that im not the only j cole fan to never hear this before!! like bruuhh this shit should be on every j cole's best lists, and in every discussion of his top 10 songs
+uzibitch1 I wouldn't blame you, i only became a fan like a year and a half ago, because this girl told me i should listen to him, so i listened to a playlist titled the best of j cole, n i just sat there for hours, had to listen to damn near 3-4 albulms worth and was like damn this guy is the truth, yet among all those songs this didn't appear, and i'm so shocked because i'd say this could easily make his top 10 or somewhere around it
Don't get me wrong, Cole's still sending out great messages in his newer songs, but it is just something about his older music that gives me goosebumps. 😍😍😍

"Don't put me on a pedestal. Because I know better....and I'm still a fool" BARZ🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You mix his old beats and his new lyrics and
Perfect
His music is way more relatable than most. The beat of a song should not overshadow the message of the artist.
Most of us aren't pushing Bugatti's and rocking Tom Ford lol, J.Cole's doesn't talk about stuff like that which makes his music definitely more relatable than most rappers. Dudes an inspiration to me.
Miguel Gaxiola yah still bumb to Cole especially when am in my own thoughts.

+Jonny Kadima exactly!
gaven gray on datpiff is crazy albums called 1982 and soul food
