Absolute masterclass. He is so knowledgable about his work. Not scared to innovate, experiment and perfect his craft. World class spinner, a legend in the making
World-class spinner but still sad that he played in ODIs and T20 for India long back in 2017. He is no more considered for shorter formats where actually variations are more recommended. I Hope Indian team management considers him for the upcoming T20 series against England.

Man he's a genius.For others it's off spin to him it's a art.
An absolute artist and a joy to watch - not a massive spinner of the ball but doesn't need to be.
You want to say -not a massive Turner
He is an off spiners and off spiners turn ball less in comparison of leg spiners
It's not about how much turn is possible, it's more about making batsmen think, it's not required to pitch outside n hit leg stump
This guy is really so intelligent and have been always trying out new variations. Proud to be his fan! ❤

Ash is an intelligent guy.
So clever, just those subtle changes in length, line, pace, wrist position. Great bowler
That's his strength, he is not natural turner of the ball like warne, murali or even kuldeep so he has to use his variation to take wickets.

I'm not sure what to say, we were outplayed in this 2nd test (am not talking about the vid). When the pitch is a spinners paradise, esp at home, you're almost unbeatable. Having said that Leach, Mo & Bess as our three spinners on tour, they're pretty ordinary. Now and again they'll have a one off great test but can't be relied on consistently. They're nowhere near the level that Swanny was.
Next two matches are in a new stadium with pitches made of 3 different soils. also its pink ball, I think it will be more bouncy and Australian, I also predict England might just win or draw there. They should go with all three quicks and really have a go at the batsmen, there is a period in pink-ball cricket where the ball will just move all over the place. On saying that the curators might just give them the spin-friendly one.
@@whakjob what’s the pitch been like previously at the next stadium?
@@whakjob Indians just love Australian kinda pitches now. As our B team won against AUS last month. England will give a fight but they cannot win.
Jack Gram Swan was a Gem. I loved his Bowling. I feel England will find a new spinner with that skill soon. Thanks for agreeing the statement of defeat of the 2nd test match.
I think Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Rashid should have been in Squad for last two tests.
@@naveen1149 ahh could be interesting then
Everyone should just try bowling variations, especially from a young age. We don’t do enough of that in England to the point where my old coach would tell me off for trying to practice carrom balls and doosra’s in the nets. I didn’t listen and now I can bowl anything which at a village level is lethal
When Ashwin explains about his bowling variations it seems like sheldon cooper explains his science experiment (The big bang theory) 😅😂
He reminds you more of a nuclear scientist than a cricketer. Few more hours into this interview he would have explained how the weather in England affects spin :)
Incredible that he has revealed this on TV and England still cant pick him
He also explained how he masks his deliveries so you can't pick him easily.
He setups u
It not like reading hand and playing shots
He didn't really reveal that allows them to systematically pick all the variations though
He didn’t tell about how he drifts the ball.. and yes this drift has ended career of so many left handers 🤣
Have seen Murali , Warne , Swane explaining spins on masterclass shows!! This was truly went over my head!! 😅
They tried to read Ashwins mind but Ashwin is too smart to counter them ..
He can tell all the secrets, but only he can master his tricks as his hands and fingers are rare to experiment all those things.
@@AmalaSingh yes true
They wanted to know his secrets
Even if he told them what he is bowling before each ball he would still take 5 wickets
Yes that's true , but fact is any way every bowler deliveries will be analysed by opponent teams during the match , but still finally the output depends only on the mindset of bowler and how well bowler outsmarted the batsmen

That's Ashwin's long answer for "Poda dai"...
Brilliant video, this guy gives India such a huge advantage over England. We have had a serious spin problem for the best part of a decade. Not only do we not have a mystery spinner but are struggling to find even a half decent finger spinner that can just land the ball consistently. In India if we lose the toss that will be game set and match before a ball is bowled. I am actually happy we have eve won a game. India are the best side in the world atm, no question.
Moin Ali would make a decent spinner if given adequate training not to mention his batting skills are decent too 👍🏻

@2:42..how do u perfect this carrom ball.
Ash: That's not a carrom ball. .

I thought I knew about cricket before Ash spoke....
His palm and fingers are too long and strong , also so flexible, not every one can do what he does. But if you look at his body it is very fragile and he cannot take risk like Jaddu does. Each one is different.
Ashwin is talking with engineers mindset. That back flipper simply unique, most of the batsman looking carom ball, but with carom ball grip he flick the ball/ undercut the ball, just outstanding.
Damn I didn’t knew someone can do this much PHD in spin bowling 😢
And people here in India were having mindset that he have got 400 test wickets bcz of pitches😂

But he was always my favourite cricketer after shewag..
He deserves to play ODI'S😢
It not his,but our loss
You cant have a single way to bowl an off break and a variation in professional cricket. Based on weather conditions, opposition, pitch, condition of the ball etc you need to have different methods up your sleeve. On top of this you need to read the match situation and keep trying to out fox the batsman constantly. We can't even begin to understand the pressures these guys are under and the amount of effort behind a single delivery. Vera level
He says for a youngster to understand but actually they want Ashwin to tell his variations so that they can understand
Others BTech (civil, mech, electrical etc.)
R Ashwin- BTech (Wrist spin)
Spin master for a reason😀, engineering lads playing cricket makes more technicality 🔥
i saw this live, also commentator later said just after this, that even the analysts are not able to understand Ashwin.
Smartly confusing sky sports they never ask like this 😆
The last one was epic. Drifting into the right hander which appears like a carrom ball from the front. Legend he is!!
The pundits are clueless, they've never spun a ball in their lives, let alone spend months working on variations, they get it wrong all the time. Chances are Ashwin's spinning a web of lies anyway like Warne just to out fox the opposition. You can imagine the England team now with their analysts all watching this. You have to ask yourself how much of this is intended for the ears of the opposition and why would you give your game away? The bloke's a top bowler, skilled and very clever.
Nah man... The thing is... Like he said... No one can pick him because he is just that good... And its not easy to do all that for an opposition spinner either... So.. No harm in telling them the technicalities... Chances are... Only a few will ever master it.. 😂😂
@@vivekkrishnan.r4289 We've got Jeetan Patel as our spin coach at the moment and he's previously said of England spinners "None of you practice enough", so that kind of matches up with what you're saying.
@@someblokecalleddave1 Yeah, but Graeme Swann was one of my favourites growing up... England has the potential to find someone like him. Because in India, spin rules... I mean... Club all Indian cricketers together and throw a stone randomly into the crowd.Chances are... You'll hit a spinner. 😅
@@vivekkrishnan.r4289 Yeah he was okay, what do you reckon his strength was? He kept it pretty basic, looked to me like a combination of being faster than most finger spinners, very accurate and keeping it simple (2 Variations)?
@@someblokecalleddave1 Accuracy mate.... He was extremely consistent with his line and length. The problem with the current lot is that they bowl superb deliveries, but throw away all the pressure created by dishing out rank full tosses and short deliveries. Ashwin and Axar won't give away those easy boundaries... The batters would need to take a risk. Thats the main difference... And when batters take risks, then wickets fall... Besides, Ashwin was invested upon and was given all opportunities to learn and grow. Moeen just played his 1st test in 2 years... As a result, Ashwin has already become a legend and Moeen hasn't accomplished that much....
