Hello Bigdog! Thanks so much for this course for the modern TV repair. I helped my dad fixing TV from the early 70's when I was just a boy, graduated from Electronics in 1980 and been repairing TV and Electonic devices ever since. Unfortunately, life took a different turn in my life, came back to my first love TV repair after years of hiatus and must say, how things had changed!! Your book is a much-needed refresher for us (old timers) coming back to a different technology approach. Thanks for your patience and instructions. I will keep you updated about my progress. Keep me updated an all of yours upcoming classes. Hope someday to shake hands with you and thank you personally Brother! Until then, 73, Joe K4JGA - JGA Electronics Repair Center, Casselberry, Florida

Just did my first repair on Samsung un46d6000sf and I'll tell ya, edge lit TV led strips are outrageous in price lol. Great wealth of knowledge here, saved me from spending 1500 on a new TV!!

Just found your videos. Super informitive and interesting. I'll be trying to troubleshoot my first TV this weekend. It's a hisense (H6G) that turns off after 30 seconds. Never seen that. So I'm going to be troubleshooting the PSU. it's 30seconds every time. Possible Cap or Mosfet overheating I'm thinking I'll find out!

Big Dog, Thank you for your in depth discovery for repair. I have an LG 42LB5DF-UC. Unit has no red power LED. I show 166 vdc on the Bridge and only other voltage is 28 volts on Q501. No voltage present on the connector. No stand by voltage present. I have replaced 4 budging caps with no improvement. How does the relay work in the start up sequence via the CPU board. Any trouble shooting help would be appreciated.

I think you did a good job of explaining things how this power board works.
