Absolutely spectacular event. All the legends, including Johnny Walker, were there. The highlight for me was the John and Leonidas match. For John, at the age of 60, getting the win over a young beast like Leonidas was incredible. So many people were writing John off, but he showed once again why he's the GOAT. Amazing performance and mastery of arm wrestling. I'm so happy to see him take the victory. Also, there’s no need to apologize coach ray. You did the best you could, and we are all very appreciative of everything you’ve done for EvW.
@@zesteecheezei was sure Jerry was going to win, but not Like that. I was pretty sure It was going to be the longest match of the evening. Instead It was probably the fastest.
@@marLamaDeo there were a lot of people calling it a mismatch, and saying that Jerry didn't stand a chance. It was nice to see the recency bias proven wrong.
Congrats Janis!! You looked absolutely jacked after your match. What an incredible match and well earned victory: one of my favorite matches of the night 💪
I think if that exact moment I’ve lost my voice. I was screaming so loud. Being there in person, it was amazing. Michael Todd’s match my voice was ready to break then John’s match. It went bye-bye lol
Brother, you losing to a bigger guy shouldn't ever scrap your future plans for the 85kg class. I am not well known, but very legit. You'll do very well in the 85kg class. Much love and respect to yall and appreciate everything you do for the sport. I never miss any of your videos. Hope to see yall again very soon 💪💪
@the9th96 I pull 95kg. I called out Sasho after the match(adrenaline was still pretty high 🤣), but honestly whoever Engin think is best. I'm ready to try and prove myself
@BANJIEESasho is absolutely not washed up what are you talking about?! Just cause he lost recently to monsters like Irakli and Samushia doesn't mean he's washed up. He's still amazing
@BANJIEE First, no he was not about to lose. He was only a little bit close to getting pinned once in 3 long matches. He still beat him convincingly. Second, Avtandil Tutberidze is a beast. His left is very good. We know how good Oleg is and he still didn't beat him easily. Also he's not much smaller than Sasho. They both competed in the same weight category. Sasho is jacked but he's short and Avtandil is taller and skinnier but they're still both similar in weight. You thinking that Sasho is washed up for not pinning everyone in under 5 seconds is stupid.
I met Johnnie Walker when I was about 8 years old, which was the mid 1980s, in the middle of his career. Even as a little kid, with him being appropriately gentle when I shook his hand, I could tell that that kind of hand and arm was different from any other I’d seen or felt before. My father was a big strong guy, and when I was kid I thought he was the strongest guy I knew… and in many ways he really was… but that guy’s arm was like a piece of a machine. So cool to see him still being around the sport in this way.
Ray worked NONE STOP at the last two East Vs West Events. Not to take anything away from Ryan at all as he was extremely Strong & looked great BUT Ray really did work none stop throughout. That’s not an excuse it is the truth. Ray is IRON 🙏🏼
Justin Bishop is awesome. Have met him before and he gave me some encouraging words at my first tournament years ago. He’s strong and just a good dude. Janis, though. Janis is the Jedi for sure. So cerebral. Amazing performance against a very strong athlete. Thanks Coach Ray and Janis for all that you have taught us over the years. God bless you both!
Only few people can understand the level of discipline that is needed to generate so much content and work so hard during something as physically and mentally demanding as an elite competition preparation and on a competition day, I am one of those who still could not know it yet in first person but I can recognize it when I see it. and it motivates people despite the results
It was great meeting you guys! Sorry I hooked you when you weren’t expecting it during our picture Janis! The only way you’re falling into a hook is if someone asks you to pose for a picture first 😂
The EvW commentary/interviewing team really is world class as far as sports broadcasting! In my opinion, they are just as entertaining or better as ESPN, FOX Sports, etc. You guys have been killing it lately! 👍🏻👍🏻🔥
They’re awesome! Each guy brings something a little different to the commentary and it’s really become a major asset to the whole show. Travis and Neil are musts. Devon coming into commentary and post match interviews has been very entertaining. Something I really appreciate is Ray’s quick wit and ability to fit current AW culture comments/jokes into match or post match commentary. Top notch stuff from the whole team.
all the best to the both of you! i hate that Janis was injured again. he can't catch a break. 😕 Ray, no worries about the loss. you didn't disappoint us. He was obviously very strong. I am looking forward to seeing you do what you do best again soon...even more so now! 💪🏻 I'm not staying strong(i'm weaker than ever), but i love arm wrestling more than ever! 🤣
First in person event. It was great seeing you all and the atmosphere was crazy. The ability to just talk a normal conversation with elite athletes is different than any other sport.
It was great to meet you Ray. I’m starting to finally get my voice back. That was one of the most memorable nights ever. Probably even better than watching my four young kids being born.😂 I know you lost your match and no excuses but helping promote the event must be difficult on top of preparing for a match as well. Go get them next time buddy.
Coach ray, is there a recovery method for an injury that makes the entire upper arm to shoulder feel debilitating? Whenever it gets pumped and worked during a sparring match it feels like it becomes disabled and it doesn’t even let me grip as hard as possible. This is only affecting my right arm and has been bugging me for weeks! If I could please get some help it would be appreciated!
DEVON vs LEONIDAS, 18:35, Even before the EvW14 it was official somewhat. When you go on coresports to buy PPV, it is written there what are some of the matches for the KOTT 12
So much respect for Ray that he doesn’t make any excuses🙄😂even tho he mentions that he had to do other work & bla bl😢a bla😅ok yes he makes excuses..Congratulations Janis💪great fight👏
DO not go anywhere but FLORIDA! you have found the promise land..., no other state can compare; and all of the athletes can enjoy the weather , resorts and theme parks!!! Keep it in Orlando!!!
Since styles make matches, and Levan needs to be tested against different contenders, Therefore I want to see Jerry, Kurdecha, and Vitaly get matches with Levan as soon as possible, Capeesh?
It was nice meeting both of you guys, and thank you both for being kind. Janis, what an amazing performance 👏 coach ray you'll comeback stronger

Taking John's hand even at 60 is nuts from Leonidas
