But again, it depends on the circumstances. Not every mass murder in anime would go through it. Like, would it be pissy if Sukuna then turns good and just be "Oh, my bad. I think I love everything now."
Kara isn't a mass murderer. Murder requires intent. Calling Kara a mass murderer is just victim blaming.

There's nothing Kara did that she needs redemption for. She was clearly under the mental domination of Brainiac and ergo, not committing any of these acts of her own free will. Real Kara is the one who thought they'd basically peacefully brought all those worlds into their benevolent empire and all the people were out there happy and protected. That she feels incredible guilt for it is natural, but also another sign that there's no redemption needed because she was never evil and never would have done those things willingly. @@ChristopherJohnson-np4dvShe....still killed all of those people dude. I doubt the survivors care if she was mind controlled or not. What there needs to be is proof that she was controlled by Brianiac otherwise her possessed actions prove Lex right.
Idk. Depends how exactly Brainiac controls her. However it is, he is certainly going to put Superman through the same process. We know she eventually dons the original costume so she does change. I’m guessing it has something to do with the armor she’s wearing making her compliant only with direct orders from what we see.
Edit: This is an extremely sensitive issue. All her life, she’s been brainwashed, manipulated, and conditioned into being a weapon for an evil AI. THIS CANNOT BE SIMPLY WAVED AWAY. I want to see Kara get help, therapy in order to heal, and rescue people in the show from cults and abusive homes. That’s what I would do, at least. This is not to say that the concept of addressing mental health with superheroes is a bad one, but it must be handled with care, especially after Heroes in Crisis tainted the waters.
Am I the only one getting Chozo vibes from the Thanagarian aesthetic? The way this engraving depicting their fall just _materialised_ reminded me of a lore scan in Metroid Prime. Also Kara is basically Samus if she had been raised by Raven Beak rather than Old Bird and Grey Voice.
I loved that Kara learned the truth immediately in this episode in normal series characters like this would take much longer to accept there parental figure is in fact a mass murderer even when the evidence is right before them but Kara instant starts questioning things on her own sure Clark helped her see the truth but Kara went on her own to learn of what happened and all came to the very end where she realises “yeah the man who raised me is a psychopath that never cared about me”
Not gonna lie but Kara feeling Guilty and regret about what she has done reminds of how Yuji itadori felt when he let sukana take control and got almost everyone killed thus causing to fall into complete despair. Just to be clear with you and that’s all. You are my Special.
Kyrptonians being conquistadors is a great take on it all. Kara being unwilling adds a layer to Brainiac that makes him even more sinister. MAWS is really hitting hard in terms of fresh ideas
When asked about the kryptonians in a recent Reddit AMA, the showrunners said that the kryptonian empire fell because it wss divided between the ideas of conquest and science. That division couldnt be bridged, and eventually, the entire thing collapsed in on itself. They also said that Krypton wasnt THE big evil empire, just one of them Which begs the question We see what just ONE kryptonian can do, let alone an entire armada of them. So if they werent the biggest wolf in the woods, who was?
"I am the revelation! The Tiger-Force at the core of all things! When you cry out in your dreams it is Darkseid that you see!" "I. Am. The. New. God. All is one in Darkseid. @@johndavidtibbetts7320 Darkseid for sure. And Jor-El even said that they got completely wiped out from an enemy more powerful than them (which totally fits Darkseid).
Well... I might be wrong since I haven't been able to get up do date with everything... but my own theory from what I have seen and read, is that maybe pre-fall Krypton was in a red-sun system and as such, could only rely on their tech and numbers... which would not get benefits from their internal cultural schism... in the other hand, Kara, being raised by Brainiac and brought across multiple planets across the galaxy would get enough yellow-sun to work her Kryptonian powers on TOP of the technological support from Brainiac... like... from what I've seen, her vizor helps boost her heat vision :/
The sad thing is? Doesn't matter if she beats Brainiac up. Doesn't matter that she was not under control. The hand that committed mass genocide against so many planets was still her own. She's going to have to live with that guilt for the rest of her life.
Well, I would say it DOES matter that her body was being controlled and she had no say in anything. But yeah, realisticly, next season she'll probably be dealing with massive amounts of guilt and ptsd. Plus adapting to a completely new life on an unknown planet. Hoping they handle it well.
@@elisa4620 Sure, it matters because that's what others will always say and tell her. But Kara coming to terms with it herself is a whole different story.

Kara got more bodies than Omniman, also it's amazing how this is better written then the entirety of supergirl, I like how this literally proves lex's point
It doesn't though. This is not a choice it's brainwashing. Lex stopped having a point the minute he spent his life trying to kill a man he was jealous of. Lex is all for calling out the potential evils of a man with physical power but hypocritically ignores his evil that he perpetuates with HIS power.
I hope they follow through with this and not just sweep it under the rug after she breaks free from Brainiac's control. She would have severe guilt, depression and PTSD from learning what she actually did and how many lives she took.
Imagine what Superman did while darkseid controlled him. Clark wouldn’t let it break his spirit. Kara will help destroy brainiac and redeem herself as supergirl, saving the innocent and being a hero. And healing herself from the guilt in the process. 💪
In DCU lore, Shayera and Katar were never Thanagarians... used tech from a Thanagarian ship that crash-landed on Earth during the days of Ancient Egypt and have perpetually reincarnated throughout Earth's history. As tragic as Kara’s backstory is in this continuity, it actually shares a striking resemblance to the legend of Hercules in Greek mythology. In the original Greek myth, the goddess Hera has an unbridled hatred for her husband, Zeus, and all of his offspring he’s had with mortal women, so she seeks out her revenge by targeting Hercules (Zeus’s demigod son). She induces Hercules with “madness”, driving him to kill his own wife and children in a blind rage. When the madness subsides, Hercules has no recollection of killing them and is horrified by his actions (Hence, he is tasked to perform his infamous “Twelve Labors” to redeem himself). As seen here, mythology has repeated itself with Braniac inducing Kara with “madness” . . . Or, in this case, mind control. Braniac is to Kara as Hera was to Hercules. Both Kara and Hercules bare a “blood guilt” that will haunt them forever.
Zod will probably still appear in most adaptations he's in the phantom zone cause of jor-el which hasn't been mentioned or explored yet so zod will come eventually just not now

DOOMSDAY made manifest and real.
Kara goes on and on about how Earth has made Superman soft, he's still a Kryptonian, he just thinks a little different. For example, he knows that conquering other planets isn't going to bring Krypton back.

@@alejandroelluxray5298 I doubt that they would be powerful enough to take down Kara. She's still a super powered kryptonian. If there are survivors from those destroyed worlds, it would definitely be trouble for Kara, but hopefully, she can make things right, especially since she never wanted to destroy those worlds and felt remorse for what Brainiac made her do.

FOUL THE FACT THAT IT WOULD FIT MAKES THIS WORSE😂
Well… that’s dark af. But then again, anime is full of mass murderers who undergo redemption arcs. Welcome to the club Kara!
But again, it depends on the circumstances. Not every mass murder in anime would go through it. Like, would it be pissy if Sukuna then turns good and just be "Oh, my bad. I think I love everything now."
Kara isn't a mass murderer. Murder requires intent. She was the weapon used by the mass murderer Brainiac due to conditioning (which from the information given began in her infancy) that meant she literally had no memories of the deaths inflicted.
Calling Kara a mass murderer is just victim blaming.
@@ChristopherJohnson-np4dvIf I were the judge on her case, I wouldn't find her guilty of razing the worlds. However, due to her participation, regardless of intention, I would rule that she needs to help make reparations to the worlds and their remaining inhabitants. Assuming there are any.
@quincyconnors9391 That's pretty fair, in all honesty.
@@quincyconnors9391Let's also add the humanization of her morals being groomed by a robotic being that is intent on the will to conquer or destroy. Could add more support to her being put for reparation and rehabilitation.

Do you all know now why Batman stocks in kryptonite?
Also why Superman lets him.
It was in case Superman goes rogue.
It's like this, what if one day, Superman loss control and not even the best militaries on Earth, no matter how advanced their technology becomes couldn't stop him? That possibility frightens people, and believe or not even Batman.
We're talking about an alien with super strength, flight, and heat vision, all powered by Earth's yellow sun.
Omniman tearing down a planet on his own was omnious enough?
Do you know that Superman's Eye Beams are a Long Range attack?
@@Mourtzouphlos240 Yes, at least 384,400 kilometres (238,855 miles) max, After one minute, Superman's eyes can release a burst of energy that is up to 168 kilojoules, after an hour, his eyes could release 10 megajoules of energy, which is ten times the energy of a car driving on a highway, after a full day, his heat vision could release 240 megajoules of energy, which is similar to exploding 58 kilograms of TNT.
Kara’s VA knocked it out of the park. You can really feel her despair and horror
Kara, I know it seems pretty painful now to be used and being lied by a machine. But you still can redeem yourself. Won’t she?
I think so. I hope.
Kara is every bit the victim of Brainiac that the worlds he destroyed using her under mind control were.
@@ChristopherJohnson-np4dv Sure, but tell any possible SURVIVORS of the planet's destruction that, if there ARE any.
“Jimmy Flamebird?” Jimmy Olsen is the true hero of the show. 😍

I’d see her be a complete advocate to trauma survivors or those from abusive households.
Frankly, that would be an interesting concept. Superheroes save the world all the time, but who saves them from their own trauma? I would love to see a comic book or TV series about a therapist who specifically treats superheroes.
@@astrofan1993 agreed, how does it affect them in their lives when they aren’t crime fighting. Just having lunch or going to a party or watching a movie, etc. It needs to be done delicately.
@@astrofan1993 the trauma would affect the character’s ability to help or to normal routines they didn’t have a problem in before is now hurting them. Therapy, friendships, trying new things etc. it could end in, “I’m doing better little by little, brick by brick.”
@@astrofan1993 There... was an event.... it claimed it would address such things......
And it rapidly shot up to near the top of many people's most hated DC event comics.
Heroes In Crisis wasn't just a character assassin, it was a character mass murderer. Both in conventional character assassination serialized, but offing dozens of characters in universe.
This is not to say that the concept of addressing mental health with superheroes is a bad one, but it must be handled with care, especially after Heroes in Crisis tainted the waters.
@@bthsr7113 What exactly _is_ this character mass murder, exactly, in detail
Am I the only one getting Chozo vibes from the Thanagarian aesthetic? The way this engraving depicting their fall just _materialised_ reminded me of a lore scan in Metroid Prime.
Also Kara is basically Samus if she had been raised by Raven Beak rather than Old Bird and Grey Voice.
I loved that Kara learned the truth immediately in this episode in normal series characters like this would take much longer to accept there parental figure is in fact a mass murderer even when the evidence is right before them but Kara instant starts questioning things on her own sure Clark helped her see the truth but Kara went on her own to learn of what happened and all came to the very end where she realises “yeah the man who raised me is a psychopath that never cared about me”
Even if Kara redeems herself Hawkman and Hawkgirl, the Green Lantern Core, and others will probably demand her execution for her genocide.
Perhaps that’s gonna be the core conflict of season 3?
Not gonna lie but Kara feeling Guilty and regret about what she has done reminds of how Yuji itadori felt when he let sukana take control and got almost everyone killed thus causing to fall into complete despair. Just to be clear with you and that’s all. You are my Special.
Someone needs to edit this scene with You are my special.
I agree we need an Edit about this one
"That's right, Jimmy, your new girlfriend is a Kryptonian"
"She's also a planet murderer. Will you still keep her?"
With the exception of Clark, she’s the first Alien he’s ever met, and she’s hot to boot, I’d be more surprised if he DIDN’T
Kyrptonians being conquistadors is a great take on it all. Kara being unwilling adds a layer to Brainiac that makes him even more sinister. MAWS is really hitting hard in terms of fresh ideas
0:14 Kara killing the Thanagarians
Yeah I can't believe kara took on the entire thanagarian empire and wiped it out I hope the thanagarians aren't extinct
@@ieuanrichards8840 didnt they have a hidden planet incase something like this happening? i read it somewhere in a comic
When asked about the kryptonians in a recent Reddit AMA, the showrunners said that the kryptonian empire fell because it wss divided between the ideas of conquest and science. That division couldnt be bridged, and eventually, the entire thing collapsed in on itself. They also said that Krypton wasnt THE big evil empire, just one of them
Which begs the question
We see what just ONE kryptonian can do, let alone an entire armada of them. So if they werent the biggest wolf in the woods, who was?
Darkseid’s army
"I am the revelation! The Tiger-Force at the core of all things! When you cry out in your dreams it is Darkseid that you see!"
"I. Am. The. New. God. All is one in Darkseid. This mighty body is my church. When I command your surrender, I speak with three billion voices. When I make a fist to crush your resistance. It is with three billion hands. When I stare into your eyes and shatter your dreams. And break your heart. It is with six billion eyes! Nothing like Darkseid has ever come among you: Nothing will again. I will take you to a hell without exit or end. And there I will murder your souls! And make you crawl and beg! And die! Die! Die for Darkseid!"
@@0axis771 Exactly. She has been through a lot and will be/should be going through a lot in at least the next season, emotionally and mentally, for different reasons.*
She's probably a mess. At least she's got supportive people who can help her deal with all of this.
*Which is why I said I hope they do it well. 🤞
Kara got more bodies than Omniman, also it's amazing how this is better written then the entirety of supergirl, I like how this literally proves lex's point
Yeah Kara is not supposed to be Clark Kent as a girl. She's supposed to be more aggressive and a bit darker.
It doesn't though. This is not a choice it's brainwashing. Lex stopped having a point the minute he spent his life trying to kill a man he was jealous of. Lex is all for calling out the potential evils of a man with physical power but hypocritically ignores his evil that he perpetuates with HIS power.
Also….she really needs LOTS of therapy after this whole ordeal. I know she is being mind controlled as a living weapon, but damn.
I hope they follow through with this and not just sweep it under the rug after she breaks free from Brainiac's control. She would have severe guilt, depression and PTSD from learning what she actually did and how many lives she took.
EXACTLY!!!!! That's exactly what they're going to do.
Finally someone thinking with the big brain
Imagine what Superman did while darkseid controlled him. Clark wouldn’t let it break his spirit. Kara will help destroy brainiac and redeem herself as supergirl, saving the innocent and being a hero. And healing herself from the guilt in the process. 💪
I hope Shayera and Katar exist in this universe and survived the massacre, we need the Hawks to take revenge on Brainiac
In DCU lore, Shayera and Katar were never Thanagarians... used tech from a Thanagarian ship that crash-landed on Earth during the days of Ancient Egypt and have perpetually reincarnated throughout Earth's history.
Basically, Thanagar being destroyed within the last 20-odd years has no effect at all on Hawkman/Hawkgirl being in the story.
@@ChristopherJohnson-np4dv Depends on which version of Hawkman and Hawkgirl we're dealing with: there's the "reincarnated Ancient Egyptians" origin, or the "space cops from Thanagar" origin.

@@quincyconnors9391 She was still being used as a weapon, regardless. Her point still stands. She never really had a choice.
😰 PLEASE tell me that this doesn’t necessarily mean that who we thought was Zod at the very end of Season 1 was actually Kara the whole time.
